  1. I wouldn't underestimate Clarrys management here, smart to get in there early with another team " Interested" they may be interested, but that doesn't mean Clarry is, and if JM and co are worried about that it might bring about an early, significant contract extension offer. I'd love to see us attempt to lock Clarry in long term before round 1 if we can.

A few things, which is interesting because it's felt a bit doom and gloom since missing the finals I'm excited by the impact that Adem Yze is going to have on the club, tactically he's brilliant and should really help Goody on game day which i'd say is somewhat of a weakness for Goody. I'm backing Clayton Oliver to come back and have an absolutely massive year, i loved the signs we saw from him this year, getting forward of the ball more, kicking more, using his legs out of stoppages, really encouraging signs, still so young. Christian Petracca i feel could go to another level again and legitimately challenge to be the best player in the comp. Kozzie pickett, Luke Jackson and Trent Rivers with a full pre season under their belt is really exciting! I'm excited to see how the probably trade week aquisitions go, if we indeed sign Ben Brown and he gets back to his 2019 form it's a huge in. T'Mac if he stays, if he can trim down and get his running right i'm backing to return to form and form a great 1-2 punch with Brown, T'mac working higher up the ground and Brown playing deep, straightening us right up and giving guys like Kozzie and Hunt a real opportunity at ground level. Simon Goodwin, i don't rate him, and have been vocal but his back is well and truely against the wall and i'm excited to see what he can produce, he'll be hell bent to prove everyone wrong and it might be a recipe for some exciting changes at the club hopefully.

Me too, but based on Goodwins position he'd be silly not to fully explore that option to make sure 2021 is better. i don't think he has the luxury of forward thinking at this point, he needs to load up. so there is no way we aren't going to explore options like Issac Smith and others.

That's exactly the point i am making Titan, though i think ever senior coach does have a responsibility to keep one eye on the future, but Goodwins situation in unique in that it'd be silly for him to do so, i'm mostly referring to the option to trade our 2021 first round pick.

I think we're saying the same thing. he's gone if we don't make finals in 2021 so of course he's not going to care about 22,23 and 24 anywhere near as much.
  6. If Tmac can get his mobility back and some confidence i am still completely confident he can be a good player at AFL level for us. if he goes, i'd only allow that to happen if we got something worthwhile in return. pick 78 wouldn't cut it, would rather keep him and back him to find form
  7. Pies have asked the question of Tmac. really interested to see what we do there. It makes sense with the potential signing of Ben Brown, that we'd move Tommy on, would be a good result if we could get someone lIke Phillips in return and really boost our midfield.

Obviously a balance of short term and long term, but the point i am trying to make, is he's obviously going to favour the short term over long term, with a view to saving his job. I fully expect the 2021 first round pick to be moved for the same reason.

Goodwins job is on the line. he's going to recruit to play finals in 2021 to save his own skin.
  10. I'm no Trump/Pence fan, but i was a bit shocked at how easily Pence was able to dismantle Harris in the debate, it really shows that if a more calm, sensible voice led the republican agenda against Biden, i think they'd be really difficult to beat. Trumps biggest enemy is himself. I don't think Joe Biden is doing himself any favours this week by refusing to answer questions around court packing, his strategy seems to be, "I'm not Trump" which was very similar to Clintons, and i'm genuinely concerned we may see a similar result. Either a Trump win, or Biden wins, but it's so close that he can't do anything and the Trump supporters argue for 4 years the election was rigged.
  11. Amazed that you wouldn't rate Billings? he's pretty handy. haha
  12. Obviously a bit older but someone i'd have a look at is Lewis Jetta from the Eagles, offers some assets we lack for the team off half back, premiership experience and looking a live possibility to be de-listed by the Eagles pending picks ups and so on during the trade period. If we get him as a DFA for nothing, i think he'd improve the half back line and give us some run and class that we're missing as well as serve as a great mentor for Salem/Rivers and cost us little to nothing. I'm not sure if he'd be interested in moving accross the country for 1-2 years but if he is, i think he'd be worth a look.
  13. I like him, i'd like to see him given a good run of 6-7 games in a row to really pick up the speed of AFL and settle in. He offers something a little bit different to the team, and seems to have some reasonable scope for improvement. I really like that he has demonstrated the capacity to get back and help the backline, but also push hard forward to impact the scoreboard. as he says, if he can improve his endurance, he can do it for longer and become a really valuable member of both our offensive and defensive transitions.
  14. ET, i feel as though we should put a line through any player named "Jack" as a potential recruit
  15. I think perhaps Viney should have been more clear if that's what he was trying to say, using the word selfish is very pointed, and i would hope has been explained privately to Clarry. but if we assume that's the case, then the club really needs to take some responsiblity for the strategy of recruiting competitive animal ball winners who's natural inclination is to do that, it's very difficult to unlearn those habits, and one of our huge issues is that when we're under the pump, players do tend to return to their poor habits and move away from the team structure. I was in favour of letting Jack Viney walk because i felt he was the one who seemed to have the hardest time turning off the desire to attack the ball in that way, and at times the midfield structure has looked better overall without him in it, that's not to say he's not a good player, i just felt of what we had, he was the one i'd be willing to lose for a better overall balance. The talk of Clarry to Carlton may be scuttlebutt in the sense that it's unlikely to happen this year, but i do think we face a battle to keep him from 2021 onwards if we have another year like we did this year, we can't be missing finals with a full list, and i think Clarry is one of the few who, despite having a slightly down year, could walk away proud of his efforts over the season.
  16. I reckon he'd be pretty dissapointed in Jack Vineys comments to be totally honest, calling them a selfish midfield, i don't think Oliver is a selfish player, if that's the feedback the club is giving these guys, i'd find that Staggering, Oliver is one of the best young players the club has ever had and is seemingly considering leaving because the club isn't where it should be on multiple fronts. If that isn't a good enough reason to sack Goodwin along with the performances i fear he's untouchable.
  17. Josh Kelly and Jye Caldwell hopefully
  18. He'd probably get a run off the bench
  19. I reckon we've got the list, probably just need a bloke who can coach at the helm now.
  20. Good to see some Sanity set in at NM, if you push a guy out the door you can't demand the world.
  21. 100% this and i absolutely guarantee he's not the only required player feeling this way. if we don't, not only make finals, but comfortably make finals and push hard in them in 2021. we could be in the same situation Essendon are right now.

Hawks are in the market for another Key Defender with Frawley retiring, i think this presents an opportunity to potentially float one of the McDonalds as an option for them. the recruitment of Frawley and Frost shows they don't mind turnover merchants in their D50
  23. i'm not sure this will be well recieved but a player i think we could get for a good price who'd add to our side is Brodie Smith from the crows, good speed, a good kick and would add a new dimension to our half back line. as well as some experience. i doubt it'd cost us much to get him over and i'm sure he'd be keen to come to a club more likely to contend in finals in the back end of his career.
  24. Would be throwing the kitchen sink at Tippa if he's open to a move.

Wouldn't mind guessing it might end up being a straight swap between Oscar McDonald and Jared Polec. North were interested in Oscar in his draft year, and given a few of their key backs are older/leaving, he'd definitely appeal.
