  1. One of my good mates is a blues fan and he's constantly messaging me about this and he said the same thing, pick 7 I laughed and said, Clarry is contracted and one of the best young players Melbourne has ever had, so if he was 100% set on leaving and we couldn't change his mind, and you added Walsh and McKay to pick 7, i'd at least think about it for a minute before saying no.
  2. Another factor in this i think is the anxiety around membership numbers. teams will be desperate to sign notable recruits and sell hope for 2021 to ensure members, particularly victorian don't re-consider buying a membership if they can't get to as many games as they'd like next year depending on the situation with Covid. i think Carlton in part are considering that with their hard push for big ish name recruits. although williams and Saad are obviously also going to make them better on the field as well.
  3. definitely think that's what they'll be after Dazzle, they obviously have a role in mind for Nev, and we can definitely use the run of Phillips, they get some cap relief Win-Win Not every trade has to be equally valued assets, as long as it's advantageous for both parties.
  4. I feel for richo. i would definitely ask people to consider the drastically improved backline system we've had this year, i think Richo has had a huge amount to do with that, and some of our players improved form. It's so difficult to gauge the influence of an assistant but i think Richo has made a big difference to our club this year.
  5. Alan Richardson is of interest for North for their top job, not sure if he'd be the front runner but they're keen to speak to him. I'm not sure if Richo is keen to be a senior coach again. Ross Lyon is also someone they want to speak to, but i don't think he'd want to go to them
  6. Horrible situation! all the best to the Shaw family! incredibly brave thing to do, admit you need help and to step out of a role he's been working for, over a period of time. it'd be incredibly tough to do, i have a lot of admiration for Rhyce as a person. Hopefully when he's had his time and space and is ready he can step back into the footy world and continue his journey. he's a great footy person.
  7. Sorry mate, thinking i might have totally missed your post!
  8. Not sure if @dazzledavey36 might know a bit about this given his connections to Bushies, but i'd imagine Clarry probably would have been pretty unhappy about the fact he finished behind Viney and Langdon when i think a lot would agree he's had a better year. the perception that Simon Goodwin plays favourites is definitely not just something some fans think, imo.
  9. Hearing Yze is working very hard go get him accross and he's strongly leaning towards coming. not quite 100% but very close to it.
  10. Well if he doesn't, we face a change of senior coach, and the potential of losing key players. i've mentioned a few times i would have pulled the trigger, too much on the line to be worrying about the financial stuff, need a coach we have confidence in.
  11. Starting to look like a fiarly significant list turnover. Oscar, Hannan, Jetta, Tmac, Preuss, ANB all mentioned as trade options and more, and other guys like Hunt and Jones still in limbo I'm not 100% sure what a "fair" trade for Jetta would be but hopefully we can work out a win-win for both sides.
  12. I feel like he has to if he wants to hold his place in the side, if we bring in Brown, you'd think more often than not Brown and Weid will both play, and i'd imagine Jackson is going to be too good to keep out of the side. that makes Fritsch the 4th forward, we will be way too top heavy if he can't chase, tackle, pressure and crumb goals. he either needs to improve in that space or he misses or plays a different role.
  13. Young Daniels would probably be pretty handy as a small forward, not sure if he's gettable
  14. Bit like Dean Kent, i don't think i'd be confident giving him much more than another 1 year, so if he can get more security elsewhere all the best to him, he has been a good servant of the club during his time.
  15. It's definitely not fitness. the club needs to hire the absolute best sports psychologist they can find, most of the challenges guys like Gus face in this industry are above the shoulders. he needs to start to believe he's an A grader for us to see the version of Gus that dominated in 2018, i don't think he believes he's that player.
  16. Thoughts on Josh Thomas from the Pies? i feel like he'd be an improvement on Hannan/Melksham and co in that forward position, can put on pressure and find the goals If the pies are interested in TMac maybe there is a deal there?
  17. Third in line for me behind Smith and then Polec. we need to address the need for run. Ideally, and it seems like a good chance, Smith nominates us and round 1 2021 we have a premiership wingman lining up for us
  18. Definitely a strange move to trade a bloke of his quality, especially if they aren't demanding a premium in return. either there is something very wrong with Brown, or Nm but either way the relationship there is totally broken which is never a good sign.
  19. I wouldn't underestimate Clarrys management here, smart to get in there early with another team " Interested" they may be interested, but that doesn't mean Clarry is, and if JM and co are worried about that it might bring about an early, significant contract extension offer. I'd love to see us attempt to lock Clarry in long term before round 1 if we can.
  20. A few things, which is interesting because it's felt a bit doom and gloom since missing the finals I'm excited by the impact that Adem Yze is going to have on the club, tactically he's brilliant and should really help Goody on game day which i'd say is somewhat of a weakness for Goody. I'm backing Clayton Oliver to come back and have an absolutely massive year, i loved the signs we saw from him this year, getting forward of the ball more, kicking more, using his legs out of stoppages, really encouraging signs, still so young. Christian Petracca i feel could go to another level again and legitimately challenge to be the best player in the comp. Kozzie pickett, Luke Jackson and Trent Rivers with a full pre season under their belt is really exciting! I'm excited to see how the probably trade week aquisitions go, if we indeed sign Ben Brown and he gets back to his 2019 form it's a huge in. T'Mac if he stays, if he can trim down and get his running right i'm backing to return to form and form a great 1-2 punch with Brown, T'mac working higher up the ground and Brown playing deep, straightening us right up and giving guys like Kozzie and Hunt a real opportunity at ground level. Simon Goodwin, i don't rate him, and have been vocal but his back is well and truely against the wall and i'm excited to see what he can produce, he'll be hell bent to prove everyone wrong and it might be a recipe for some exciting changes at the club hopefully.
  21. Me too, but based on Goodwins position he'd be silly not to fully explore that option to make sure 2021 is better. i don't think he has the luxury of forward thinking at this point, he needs to load up. so there is no way we aren't going to explore options like Issac Smith and others.
  22. That's exactly the point i am making Titan, though i think ever senior coach does have a responsibility to keep one eye on the future, but Goodwins situation in unique in that it'd be silly for him to do so, i'm mostly referring to the option to trade our 2021 first round pick.
  23. I think we're saying the same thing. he's gone if we don't make finals in 2021 so of course he's not going to care about 22,23 and 24 anywhere near as much.
  24. If Tmac can get his mobility back and some confidence i am still completely confident he can be a good player at AFL level for us. if he goes, i'd only allow that to happen if we got something worthwhile in return. pick 78 wouldn't cut it, would rather keep him and back him to find form
  25. Pies have asked the question of Tmac. really interested to see what we do there. It makes sense with the potential signing of Ben Brown, that we'd move Tommy on, would be a good result if we could get someone lIke Phillips in return and really boost our midfield.
