Unfortunately i agree completely, i'm sure Brad Scott is a very capable man, but Josh is an incredibly talented, and young administrator, with the potential to be a future CEO of the AFL, i think giving him this opportunity and investing in him would be very wise, because i think if you don't, talented people like that tend to start looking outside the sport for career advancement.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Boweys composure is incredible for such a young player. reminds me of a Luke Hodge in that he just doesn't panic down there. -
I really like Bowey and i'd be keen to see him stay in the side I think Hibberd simply has to be picked ahead of Smith. and i'd say i've got more confidence in Bowey in a final than Hunt
-
Have heard from someone who gets good intel that Hunt is all but certain to be right to go, and we're tossing up Hibberd coming back in as well.
-
Worried about who is going to stop the Brisbane smalls? we'd wanna make sure we mark a lot of those balls coming in and our pressure is enormous
-
I think we definitely want Port Adelaide to win if possible, Geelong having to go the long way with no pre finals bye and an older list definitely makes things harder for them, and they'd be a chance to lose to a team like Sydney in a semi final as well.
-
Would love to see him play in a grand final
-
I'm sure he's on healthy money, but i don't wanna speculate on what that is, he's doing everything he's asked to do to earn it so he's fine regardless of what he's on
-
Why on earth would we trade Gus? Cerra is a good player but 750k!? we need to use F/A to round out the edges on our list so we can go for back to back flags. NO SELLING THE FARM

Brownlow tipping. 1,2,3 and club best total.

I'm going to go with a surprise option 1. Zach Merrett 2. Marcus Bontempelli 3. Ollie Wines -
I rate their list, but it's the stuff going on outside that. how could anyone actually take a job there as senior coach after seeing this? Ross Lyon still has some appeal in the industry, don't blow it on this mob.

Good player, still playing good footy when on the park. premiership experience, proven leader, Love it, straight swap for Sam Weideman, Hawks get a young developing key forward, we get an experienced Vet to help us now.
-
If we're at our best i don't think they're good enough to beat us, bring the pressure and the heat. lately we've been doing it for patches of games and that's been enough to pile on goals, apart from the Gold Coast where the 2012 Mark Neeld Dees probably would have beaten them that day. Midfield battle will be key, if we break even or better, i think we win by 4-5 goals. May gave Daniher a bath last time, i'd expect Petty should cover McStay and Lever should get a small or a lesser match up which suits him.
-
I'd prefer to keep him, however i do see potential if a team did want him that our 2022 first rounder and Weid might be able to get us back into the first round of this years draft, i think it'd be smart for us to continue to build and add to our young core, great that we're a chance at a flag but i'm greedy and want to see us win 3-4

Watching the replay of our last game against the Lions and it's such a similar game to the Cats game, we didn't finish our work and our pressure was a bit off and they got on top, we clicked back into our footy and we absolutely pulled their pants down. it shows that our best is THE best They definitely tried to isolate our defenders 1v1 which worked in the first half because our work rate and pressure was down and they had a fraction of extra time and space, in the second the pressure forced more high kicks and we won the battles in the air, even with Hipwood down there. they worked hard to make sure Salem got no time and space, knowing he's our quarterback, i suspect they'll go again with this and we will try the same thing with Rich Oscar McInerney was good enough to stop Gawn getting clean hit outs, but Gawn clearly has him around the ground, and our mids seemed to get the better of the chaos ball when Jackson is in there, what i love about him is he's so different to Gawn, he doesn't seem to have any real purpose beyond just getting his hand to the ball, and our players just react to it. when it's Gawn both sides are just watching his palm and it ends up with a bees to the honeypot situation. I think if we are going okay in the middle we can afford to send Petracca forward because Starcavic will have his hands full with Fritsch, so they won't have a good match up when he's down there Everything starts with Neale, like Libba if we can contain him, we can take away their engine room
-
Could you rotate Bowey through the wing Dazzle? i really love his composure and think that could be important in a big final,
-
I'd go slightly differently to be honest, I'd bring in Jordan or send Viney to body up Neale at stoppages, Harmes to McLuggage to not allow him time and space, and i agree on a Melksham/Fritsch doing a defensive job on RIch, Starcavic will try and blanket Fritsch i'd imagine, but if he can get one on one Fritta might be able to get him in the air
-
There is a very real possibility that Weid just doesn't attract the sort of interest that would make leaving an attractive option.
-
I think any team that plays against Harris Andrews goes in with the plan being pretty simple, which helps and it's literally don't let him mark the ball. If he plays on McDonald i imagine Tom will try and pull him away from the danger zones or at least compete really strongly in the air and bring it to ground. I don't think Andews has been at his absolute best either which does help.
-
Anyone else got the feeling that Kozzie might have Byrons "big game gene" and absolutely rip a final to shreds? i could see the little fella going nuts and kicking 6
-
I think some consideration should be given to a Jordan-Sparrow swap, i think Jordan is our best tackler, and when he's in the side it's something i really notice, i think we're a better side with him in there, definitely missing Hunts run, and happy to swap him and Smith. I'd be picking Melksham or Jones as Sub, i think having an experienced Sub is going to be really handy in finals because it's effectively another coach, another experienced head on the bench and someone ready to go right away. coming into a big final half way through if the game is really hot could be a tough adjustment for a young player imv
-
I think it's really hard for teams that have multiple heavily polling players to produce a winner, which is why i think the winner will be Ollie Wines, but i also think Zach Merrett has had a VERY good season and could be top 3
-
From what i've heard it's not so much Yeo wanting out of Meth Coast, and it's more Meth Coast having a look at what senior players have some currancy to start a re-build
-
It 100% favors us, Brisbanes revival has been based on slick ball movement and high scoring, it suits us down to the ground if it rains. i think we will win either way though
-
Lets hope so given everything he's ever posted has been wrong, it would just about guarantee us the flag
