  1. Adam Tommlinson is the one I want, I see him emerging much like Tom Lynch has, very mobile, amazing workrate, good hands and skills and would compliment Hogan and Dawes really well in my opinion would like to see pick 4 and 24 for Shiel and Tommlinson
  2. No excuses here, Bendigo gold are about as useful as a [censored] flavoured lollypop
  3. Malcheski unrestricted free agent, apparently the swans are concerned with the cap squeeze, would be a great get for a couple of years imo, but we'd have to keep Chip or risk damaging our compo
  4. I reckon Barry could become a fantastic tagger, he's not afraid of the tough stuff, has great pace and imagine the dees winning the ball, and barry sprinting into space off his opponent, he would be a handful for his opponent and demand respect, I can see him become a massive component to our team
  5. Do you guys reckon he is more suited to forward or back? I quite like him up forward, I think he's a hugely dangerous matchup and capable of kicking multiple goals but he also looks a very handy defender at the minute
  6. I reckon Barry has some good traits, he's a project player but cracking a game this year is a good sign, I reckon at the end of the next two years he will be a regular in our best 22 and be playing a role very well, the two years thing could well be for the successor to sort of have the flexability to make changes to the list when he comes in.
  7. 2015 will be a huge year for a few boys, Toumpas I reckon is tracking okay, when he has been in the ones he has been fairly solid averaging 17 touches, he really just needs confidence and obviously they are working on particular parts of his game at Casey, or were before his appendix decided to jump ship. Trenners will be really interesting, will it be the Trengove of his first two years, or his second two years? I reckon if he has another slow year he might well find himself on the trade table, if he is the Trengove of old a lot of people we be remind just how good this kid is, to me it could be as good as landing someone like Sheil or Coniglio,
  8. Time to put a 3 year extension in front of viney?
  9. Fat Tony, look at Gary ablett Jr's first 3 years, took him a while to get going
  10. I agree mate, I reckon the AFL will look after us if Chip decides his future is elsewhere
  11. Great news! Two more years for TMAC http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-07-10/mcdonald-locked-in-at-Melbourne http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-07-10/dom-a-demon-until-at-least-2016
  12. COMPENSATION A club that has a net loss of players transferring to/from other clubs as free agents in one transfer period is entitled to compensation via National Draft picks allocated by the AFL. The compensation formula produces a points rating for players based on: 1. The new contract of the free agent; 2. The age of the free agent. Draft picks are allocated to clubs based on the net total points for free agents lost and gained during the transfer period. Draft picks will be allocated to one of five places: • 1st round • end of 1st round • 2nd round • end of 2nd round • 3rd round In applying the formula, an expert committee reviews the formula outcomes. The committee has the power to recommend alternative outcomes to GM – Football Operations where the formula produces a materially anomalous result. so at 25, he is going to get at least 4 years at around 600k I would think and that will be what fundamentally dictates the compensation, but I feel the bottom highlighted sentence will come into play if it looks like being anything less than band 1 because of our position, our poor form over recent seasons and the importance of Frawley to our team and prospects going forward.
  13. Age, postion of the club, standing within the club are all considerations as far as I am aware, which is why we got overs for Sylvia last year imo
  14. they take the age, position of the team and importance to the team into account correct? surely a key defender in a bottom 3 team that has won 37 games in 8 years who is in the leadership group would all push anything above 500k per year up into band 1, I reckon they would make sure we are compensated well for what would be a very significant loss for the club
  15. I think the AFL community will riot if Sydney are able to land Frawley as well.
  16. The mixed messages are unbelievable Bomber: the players were briefed on the supplements and their potential health risks, one infact cures cancer EFC: the players and club didn't know what they were being administered but we know that it's not banned Dank: on different occasions has both confirmed and denied the use of TB4, but has consistently said the players knew what they were taking they have shot themselves in the foot.
  17. I reckon they should carry on and suspend the investigation at the point of handing out infringement notices, I reckon they would rather the public see the case they have, know they aren't just bluffing and that way even if the investigation becomes invalid, the damage it would do to the image of the club and it's standing in the league would be far more devastating than it already is. I reckon ASADA will get their man eventually.
  18. It doesn't happen often picket, but I agree, I reckon we are looking at another decent turnover of players this year, got to be a few more Viv Michies and Aiden Rileys out there who could offer more than blokes like Nicholson
  19. Young Russel seems to be a pretty solid player, could play a lot of different positions but probably doesn't have the talent to stay in their side long term when he is competing with 22 blokes who could all be superstars i'd take him off their hands instead of the second rounder.
  20. I really like this idea! If I was Roos, I'd be talking to Gold Coast about trading picks 4 and 24 for picks 11, 15 & 31. I'm sure GCS would like to move up in the draft and consolidate their talent, especially having to trim their list further as it shrinks, while we still need to bring in weight of numbers. Of course, this is all Gold Coast would be a good fit for a icing on the cake type player like Pickett trade 11 for Jake Carlisle trade 15 for Mitchell suddenly a compo pick has seen us replace Chip with a better defender, and add a really good midfield prospect to the list i'd probably then use pick 3 on Petracca knowing Trengove and Hogan will come back in and basically be like new players as well
  21. Is Tom Mitchell as valuable as Frawley or the Compo pick? probably not imo does Frawley want to play for Sydney/can Sydney afford him? surely they can't... why would Sydney give up Mitchell for a bloke they could pick up for nothing
  22. Tom Mitchell for our second rounder and Sam Blease
  23. I don't think it lends to well to Kids who admire the players and having so many moving clubs so much more often I think takes away from that, but I understand why it needed to come in from the players prespective In Chips case I probably wouldn't mind it purely from a planning point of view, if we knew he was leaving and we'd get Band 1 we have an extra 10 weeks to plan who we might draft, who might be on the table during trade week and so on, although I think they would have a reasonable idea by now anyway.
  24. I reckon there was an opening for Tapscott but Nev has grabbed that role with both hands, the tough back pocket stopper.
