I'd offer a really good contract to Dangerfield or Boak to come home to Melbourne, talking 6 years, over a mil a year and offer pick4 and Toumpas as the trade, both free agents at the end of next year, if the club thinks they might leave they just might consider it, and the players are Victorian, an offer like that to come home is always worth looking at

we have messed up a lot, I always wonder if blokes like Strauss, Blease, Tapscott and co would have developed differently at another club and been very good players

Time for brave decisions we need this to look and feel like a totally different side in 2015 players like Watts and Grimes being on the trade table is not out of the question imo

and if you read my comment you would notice I am not denying that, we have probably made a massive error here, Toumpas was/is not what we needed and Wines would be making a difference. I would personally have taken Wines, but that does not take away from Toumpas imo he is tracking okay, probably will be an okay player in time but I don't think he is what we need, so i'd probably consider a trade if a good deal came up, a more advanced team would be able to develop him better and make better use of him, right now we need to strip everything back and get the foundation of our list sorted.

Yeah, it's a little bit of a worry some of the obvious problems some of our senior players have

I really hope Jack Viney finds the time to have a coffee with Joel Selwood, I reckon that's the sort of player he will become in time he will imo be the next captain of Melbourne

I hope there are some brave decisions made at the trade table this year, some players who have been around a while just aren't cutting it imo

Players looking tired, we seriously need to find a way to score a few goals, I understand the defence first plan, but we are not going to win games kicking 4 or 5 goals

I reckon an experienced coach as successor might be the sensible option

17 game player... averaging 17 touches per game at AFL level, tracking just fine, if you take out the comparison to Wines, look at that he is statistically very similar to a lot of players who have gone on to be okay examples.. Cotchin, Ablett, Swan, Watson in fact Ablett even had knocks on him about being soft. does that mean he will make it? no. does that mean it's too early to write him off? yes.
