if that happens Ahmed Saad would be well within his rights to write in and ask why he got 18 months or whatever he got for purchasing something that was banned but the players who have likely injected a product that is clearly banned many times only get weeks, soft penalties would only open up a can of worms i don't think the AFL is capable of dealing with.

A turn around is a much broader thing than on field success, we have gone from a club on it's knees to a significantly improved club in all areas, if that's not a turn around i'm not sure what qualifies.
-
When it becomes 6-8 we know he is gone for at least the year.
-
Potentially, but i would say we are in a much better position that i've seen the club in terms of having an off field structure that is financially responsible, works and makes sense and on field we have a solid long term plan run by quality football people and some strong young talent starting to emerge
-
i felt like we missed Kent, vince and Howe, three players will offensive weapons who would have helped us really step on the doggies throat
-
Extremely stiff for hogan imo, he spilled a mark and didn't dominate but my God he worked hard, he got to good positions.

Everyone says the Cats will land danger for sure, I'd be shocked if the Cats have more cap room than the crows. i'd be very surprised if the Crows didn't match any offer made for a player of Dangers calibre. I'd be surprised if sides like, Us, GWS, or anyone with money didn't pick Danger in the draft if he chose to go that way. the simplest way he could have moved back to victoria is by telling the crows last year that's what he intended to do, and allowing them to take pick 2 off our hands, actually get some decent compensation and him accepting the huge dollars and term that we had on the table.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-03-15/toumpas-bridging-the-gap really honest by Chunk but i think he hit the nail on the head, the same probably applies for a lot of our players.

i quite like the setup, when Roosy hands the reigns over i think we will see Macca fill an overseer sort of role which comforts me a little bit about the untried status of Goodwin, I strongly believe Roos will stay on in some sort of mentoring capacity, it may not be full time, but i think he sees himself as part of the journey and part of the club now and is invested in our success.

i really think it's just a management situation, both he and Stretch have trained really strongly for a long period of time, but i think Roosy has a preference to play guys like Michie and Newton who are bigger bodies and let these kids develop a bit. Angus will play AFL footy this year, i have no doubt of that, i reckon it might even be this friday night that he gets his chance in place of Ro Bail who was very average. -
Newton is a lock for round 1 for me, he isn't flashy but he will consistantly play his role and use the ball well, and in my opinion he is AFL standard rather than someone like Matt Jones who i consider borderline.
-
I would imagine he'd be on the list for sure.
-
I really rate tommlinson, id much rather a few blokes like that than 1.2 million minimum per year it would take to land danger it it's even possible, and then he'd probably do his acl in the nab cup anyways

How'd brayshaw go?? -
Take a bow MFC; the recruitment of Frost was a master-stroke.

What about jeff Garlett for pick 60 or whatever, We did extremely well in both older recruits and the quality of players we drafted -
I suspect the players will feel very differently about him if they are missing games, if they don't already.

Who would have thought back in 2013 when Mark Neeld was coach, the club thought a 5 goal loss to the Brisbane lions was a positive and half the team was looking to walk out the door and the club looking in serious danger of folding that as soon as 2015, we'd be seriously looking at 8 wins for the season as what seems to be considered a realistic aim, we'd be in a good place off the field with some serious quality people running departments such as Peter Jackson, Glenn Bartlett, Simon Goodwin, Paul Roos, Brendan Mcartney, Josh Mahoney. have a core group of players that looks like actually taking this club somewhere and a lot of our young talent very quick to sign onto new contracts and seeing an exciting future for the club. Our turn around may not have been as obvious as Port Adelaide, but i honestly feel we have improved as much when you really consider just how far back we are coming from and how many different aspects have improved significantly.

Agree we came out on top, I believe Dom Tyson is a better player than Josh Kelly right now and will continue to improve after his first full pre season, Salem on todays form is a very handy bonus that pushes the trade clearly into our favour at this stage. however i think Josh Kelly will be a star, and start really impacting games as soon as this year, but if he is ever going to be so good that he makes this trade look like an absolute stuff up on our end as people have suggested he will have to be the next Gary Ablett jr, because our boys i think are both on the way to being genuine A graders at worst it's 1 superstar for 2 stars.
-
I reckon we will be looking closely at GWS, we have some senior players, now stockpile top end talent that's a bit younger to strengthen the core that is going to win us our next flag. hopefully Dom and Sam can convince a few of their GWS mates to come on board, but ultimately, we need to win some more games or it's going to be tough to convince anyone.
-
Salem is going to start getting alot of attention from opposition teams if he continues to play like that, the beauty of that is Howe, Lamumba, Grimes, Mcdonald, Jetta can all run and create as well, it's a group that can defend really strongly but also run and attack off half back. alot of goals scored from oppostion mistakes today which is something we haven't been able to do consistently.
-
I still think injury free Trengove could improve out of sight, and really improve our side. Toump showed good signs today, although i don't see him ever becoming A grade, but that doesn't mean he can't be an important part of our side. Tyson and Hogan are the two obvious ones. Watts, Kent and Howe have weapons that could make them stars, all three are burst and flashy players. lets not forget Brayshaw and Petracca are genuine A grade talent.
-
I thought today was the best game that both Salem and Toumpas have played for the Melbourne football club, that's a massive positive, Hogan and Viney showed great work rate, which is also really important. Garland looked to me to be just starting to gain a bit more touch. Letting a lead like that go, and nearly coughing up the game against ordinary opposition is simply not good enough, our best has improved alot, but we are not going to win enough games to play finals while having lapses like that, imagine if we did that against good opposition? we really miss Bernie and Howe.
