  1. Will be very interesting to see how this game plays out. I expect Pendles to play mostly off half back again, simply because we have so many tough inside mids who would be pretty keen to test out those ribs, so i'd play someone like Watts or Kent on him, someone who he has to respect and can make him play as a defender. Last year sidebottom had 21 touches in the first half, then Daniel Cross was moved onto him and he only had 4 more for the game, i'd start the game off with Bugg on him, seems he doesn't handle a tag very well. Treloar is in great form but so is Viney so i'd let them go head to head. Crisp i think with go to Chunk, though it would be tempting to put him on Oliver i reckon, the young fella has been a driving force for us from the midfield with fantastic clearance and contested numbers. Fingers crossed Cloke continues his horrible run of form. Jetta should get the job and i think is more then capable of beating Fasolo, he looks to me like the most likely to kick 5-6 goals and be a match winner. I think the really big advantage we're going to have will be the midfield, i think we have a much deeper midfield because of the Pies injuries and we also have an inform Max Gawn who i expect to really dominate Brodie Grundy, we saw against North for the first time that i can remember Max being extremely damaging with his hit outs to advantage, i think it resulted in us scoring 6 goals or something last week, so a repeat dose of that and we should have a good win. Jeffy back will be pretty handy and i quite like the form that Kent, Watts and Hogan seem to be building, i really love the way Watts and Hogan seem to be working together, Jesse himself has said when he see's the ball in Jacks hands his eyes light up. I really liked H's game last week, i know not everyone did but he really added some run and spark to the side which makes a difference, just needs to work on his decisions but i think that comment probably applies for every player in the team. Really big week for Dom Tyson, i feels he's been going okay, but he is capable of soooooo much more, he's good enough to be getting 30 plus and a goal a game, and using it really well, i think he's averaging around 22 touches at the moment ( someone i'm sure knows this ) so a little below what i'd expect and making some bad decisions and being a little lazy with disposal, if he gets anywhere near his best form it will go a long way towards us winning the next few games.
  2. Roosy had suggested a few times they might look at playing guys like Brayshaw off half back, and rotate them through the midfield, I am a bit unsure how well it would work, i see Brayshaw as an inside mid who is classy on the outside where as i see Vince as a quality outside mid who has a decent inside game.
  3. Reported on the news Hogan has been carrying a calf injury but is expected to play, Garlett will have a fitness test friday morning that will decide if he'll play and Brayshaw is expected to come in for Vince. Said Petracca is still a couple of weeks off
  4. End of the day CP5 would be playing if not for his back yard slam dunk contest so i'm sure the club will be hoping he realises just how silly that was.
  5. The word i've been hearing on this is his manager feels his value in the Market based on age, current form and scope for improvement is quite a lot higher then what Adelaide are willing to/ able to offer. I think he's gettable if a club is willing to offer around the same as what Dawes is on, possibly a little more and give up a first round pick. Personally i think he'd be a fantastic pick for us, he's good enough to make an impact and take pressure off Jesse right now, and will continue to develop into the future and as Weiderman develops he could become an extremely dangerous third forward/ ruck. and if Jesse does happen to leave a combination of Jenkins/ Watts/ Weiderman i think would prove more than handy.
  6. He's pretty sore apparently, i don't think Bucks will be keen to let him anywhere near Jack Viney so i'm pretty certain he will play half back. in which case i hope Hogan and Frost are instructed to put him to ground ( fairly ) every chance they get. I'd send Bugg to Treloar and try and limit his influence, outside him they don't have many match winners.
  7. That tap to Dom Tyson.... all class. not a bad finish either from Dom
  8. Must admit watching the video i didn't think it was in play, it was just a dick move. bit of an old fashioned clean up job.
  9. I've always wondered what happens there, can the club put in a complaint or something? the game was clearly decided by poor umpiring decisions.
  10. I've seen two shockers in the first quarter.. Viney gets absolutely smashed, clear free kick and Kent comes in to get into Firrito about it, pushes him in the chest, he falls over, and the free is reversed.. even Firrito looked like he couldn't believe it.
  11. Re-watching the game, still feel the same way about the umpiring. absolutely rubbish, bordering on cheating.
  12. I'd play him, he is clearly a class above the VFL already and his fitness by all reports seems to be pretty close to the mark, even if he just plays as a forward he'll be very dangerous
  13. Mcdonald was also the form defender of the AFL at the time and had absolutely smashed every forward he'd played on before this point, so i really think it was a no brainer, TMAC just had an off day and Cloke is a confidence player, once he got on a role noone was going to stop him.
  14. Not sure why this section is included on a lot of posts, we seem far more into guarding space then players these days and matchups normally rotate quite a lot through the games, i'm sure all of those names listed will spend time on basically all of Collingwoods forwards.
  15. I'm not a huge fan of David King, but i kind of agree with him, some of the things i hate most about listening to Roosy speak are the willingness to shift the blame, the players are mentally scarred, the fans are mentally scarred, victim mentality, losing mentality is ingrained, having said that he would have looked like a tool if we'd managed to snag one more goal and got over the line.
  16. I don't think he made contact, and if he did it's just a clip and you can't suspend a bloke for nearly doing something wrong. BUT i think he should be fined either way and his team mates should let him know about it.
  17. I'd be tempted to go with neither up forward. Kennedy Watts Vanders Kent Hogan Garlett I reckon being a bit shorter is better then carrying a taller guy who fails to have an impact on the game
  18. The number would be fairly low. Parish is playing at the centre bounces but that wouldn't be happening under normal circumstances. Brayshaw did a little bit last year, and Jack viney did basically right away but i would say neither had the impact Oliver has
  19. It's a really interesting one, Parish i think is the type of outside player we desperately need and no doubt that would have been a consideration but Oliver has just been so impressive, i'd say more impressive then Brayshaw was last year and it was pretty obvious basically right away he could be a future star/captain. I think we've found the next Michael Voss or Nathan Buckley
  20. I think it's pretty clear the tigers are in for a pretty significant re-build. This list is not going to get them anywhere near a flag, they're full of overrated, average players and when the club finally moves Hardwick on they're going to need to start from scratch and try and get some real talent in over a few seasons on the bottom.
  21. Hawthorn will throw every spare cent they have at him, they're desperate to re-build their midfield for when Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis retire.
  22. Garlett has to come back in if fit, but beyond that no unforced changes. if we play like that again we'll belt the Pies.
