AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I spoke to someone about him and this is what i was told "All of the clubs in his draft range would be weighing up if he's Joel Selwood or Dev Robertson."

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I have actually heard a few teams have been trying to move 2025 first rounders in 2026 with very limited success, teams just value the 2026 picks a lot more highly than anything really in this draft. I am really really surprised we aren't keen on Sharp, i feel like he'd make us better right away, offset a bit of what we've lost and the word is he's a brilliant leader. My preference for our 2 picks is any 2 of Robey, Srlj, Cumming, Sharp or Farrow. But it feels like we're going to potentially get/take none of them

I miss the good old days when Alex Neal Bullen would finish without breaking a sweat and everyone else looked like they were dying.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
To me pick 9 to the Bombers is all about Sharp, they knew we aren't keen on him and so this allows them to take 2 more preferred options and still get Sharp. It's a very smart play by them.

Curious who you like in the draft daz? Who do you reckon we go for?

It’s absolutely amazing to me that west coast who have about 4 talented players let jai culley go.

Cameron Nairn
He’s a really unique player in my opinion, I am curious the views of the more regular draft watchers but he seems like someone who in some videos looks like a Jack Gunston and in others looks more like a pure small forward. It feels like he could grow to become a nightmare matchup

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I wonder if you could swap the Blues 7 for 9 and 11 if they thought they could get ahead of the bid on Dean?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I think it's going to be 2 of Cumming, Robey, Taylor, Doverton, Pickett, Nairn, Farrow, Schubert. they seem to be the names we're heavily linked to at this stage

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Maybe we can start a rumour about Sullivan Robey to try and get Essendon and Richmond to pass on him, anyone know our internal leakers? we can get them to pass on word to Tom Morris.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
One thing that i loved was him saying "We don't need to be trying to save the game, take it forward and attack, but do it on our terms with the outnumber." He's got a few habits to undo but it's encouraging.

Dyson Sharp
I really really like Sharp and i think he's been absolutely rock solid through underage footy. Honestly my biggest concern with him is he's a pure, ball winning inside midfielder and perhaps the game has gone past that role a little bit/we already have guys who can play that role. If i am West Coast or Richmond i'd be thinking he's a rock solid candidate for a rebuilding team, but possibly we need someone with more speed, skills and difference making qualities. If i am choosing between Cumming and Sharp, i'd be choosing Cumming every single time, having said that, if Sharp is on the board at pick 8, we're going to have to give it very serious thought because there is little doubt he'd be the "Best available."

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 10th November 2025
It's amazing how the change of coach can totally change the feeling around the club, suddenly everything is fresh and exciting, new game style, new faces and some optimism for 2026. Complacency isn't always obvious, i think it's normally the little things that you don't notice until you start doing them again.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I'm definitely being very harsh on a lot of guys, i know Trenners personally and i completely get the hand he was dealt was [censored] in terms of footy, the irony being he's running better now than he ever has and his foot is no longer an issue. My point is really that we have had a massive massive group of first rounders come though the doors and a really low % of those went on to become A grade players, for a whole host of reasons some totally out of our control. Some of it was definitely poor recruiting though, some of it was poor development and i am confident we're now in a much better space to recruit the right players and develop them well.

Big Cox
We just recruited a veteran forward from the pies, the rest of the minutes within the team as a key forward go to Van Rooyen, Jefferson, Kentfield, Heath

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I was probably generalising, but we had a whole list of top end talent come through the doors that for a variety of reasons failed to become long term A grade players, i'll accept it was probably harsh to include Bartram specifically, but when you've got Trengove, Watts, Strauss, Toumpas, Morton, Blease, Cook and so on all taken as high end picks and basically none become A grade players, and really only Watts even became a consistent B grade player, that's more than just bad luck recruiting.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I know, but you have to wonder if the damage was done. It's an incredible effort to have so many first round picks be complete busts which is why i do wonder if some of them might have been okay drafted anywhere else. Especially someone like Blease with that real pace could have slotted into a role and learned it really well and maybe been a really solid role player at a good club.
-
AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I wonder if Blease, Strauss, Bartram, Morton, Toumpas and all of these guys would have ultimately become better and more competent AFL players in the current MFC with the ability to develop players?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I really really like him. his upside feels significant.

Aidan Schubert
This is the type of guy Essendon draft. avoid
-
AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
It would be classic Essendon to take 2 mids and not develop them while the very next pick we take Taylor and he becomes a multiple times all australian star player
-
AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
I think there is a very real possibility Essendon go the S.A double to try and mitigate go home concerns. I can see them taking Cummings and Sharp. This would leave us with the chance to take Taylor who is the best available but perhaps not something we specifically need.

Welcome to Demonland: Latrelle Sumner-Pickett
If we rate him at pick 7 or 8 then what the phantom drafts say is irrelevant. the idea of another pickett in the Melbourne team is pretty exciting, admittedly i know very little about him though
