2024 Phantom Drafts
The Saints 2 picks are really interesting, would they offer up 7 and 8 to Norf for 2 and 22? if they hold those picks they're on record as wanting midfield class, but i think a King/Armstrong combination would be really tempting for them

Results of Club Reviews
I'm not sure we're entitled to that from Trac to be honest, i think to pretend we've handled him and Clarry perfectly is foolish, regardless of what mistakes the players themselves have made. I think it's going to take time for wounds to heal and relationships to strengthen, if we're playing in and winning finals in 2025 it's going to be a non issue, if Trac does decide to go, we're going to get a war chest of draft assets right before Tasmania join the league from a club like Collingwood standing on the edge of the cliff looking down (Age wise)

Nathan Jones joins MFC as an Assistant Coach
McQualter did last season, and Jones was a significantly better player than Mini.
-
Gary Pert Quits as MFC CEO
Offt. probably in the significant minority with that view i reckon Saty
-
Gary Pert Quits as MFC CEO
Saty thinking we're fine at the same time as the President and CEO are both gone, our two best players seriously considered leaving and we finished 14th. Nothing has changed in the last 15 years haha

The Jagga Smith Thread
If we had pick 4, i'd probably be calling for Draper over Langford or Smith, so more than happy for them to pass.
-
Gary Pert Quits as MFC CEO
It's been very widely reported Saty, I know you're allergic to anything negative being said about the club, but even you have to admit this has been a mess.
-
Gary Pert Quits as MFC CEO
I held the view that the moment Pert started calling clubs directly to shop Oliver following Goody and Gawn speaking about how they love him and back him, a divide was created that could only end with one of Pert or Goodwin leaving the club.

Draft night - How it may work out?
I would say all 5 players in question are potential stars, as are basically the first 20-25 of this draft, so really the pressure is on either way because we will have 2-3 cracks at this draft and if we get it right we go a long way to building our next premiership, if we get it wrong it'll be richard tambling level

Nathan Jones joins MFC as an Assistant Coach
Over a decade being one of the leagues most hard working and respected midfielders, and knowing the Dees system inside and out not good enough?

2024 Phantom Drafts
The comparison between Langford and Matt Crouch isn't accurate, Langford is already a more damaging player than Crouch is, and he can play forward.
-
The Harry Armstrong Thread
I think he's going to St Kilda at pick 7 or 8 to be honest. If i was to guess, pick 9 we will be choosing between Lindsay, Reid and Trainor

2024 Phantom Drafts
There has never been more pressure on a club for the number 1 pick in a draft. While i know some of them have not been the players the clubs would hope, i don't remember a year where there are potentially up to 9 genuine options for that selection and Richmond get the fun role of doing what noone in the media has been able to do and it's picking 1 out as the best of the bunch. one argument which is the Jagga smith arguement, is that you get as close to a safe/sure thing with that pick, the opposite end is you go highest upside which is probably someone like Tauru or Lalor. My gut feel is they'll go in between and take FOS but i am very very happy to not have to make the call. we're in a nice position of getting the best prospect that slips through and the decision is effectively made for us. the top 6-7 i think will ultimately all be really good players, i don't really see any of them being busts.

2024 Phantom Drafts
I like this idea, i feel though that we will probably get a similar talent at 5 compared to 2. 3 bites of the cherry in 5, 15, 16 could net us a package like, Langford/Smith plus 2 of Lindsay/Hynes/Shanahan/Hotton

Pending Announcement
The game day strategy coach role isn't new in terms of the MFC, that's effectively what Yze and McQualter have done, but they've also taken on the mids and perhaps they feel that's too big a role for one person? that would seem to make sense. My concern is when you're looking at bringing in 2-3 people into the FD we're a little bit late and a lot of the highly credentialed assistants have proabably already worked out what they're doing

God i miss Nathan Carrol I assume this is Nathan Jones? that leaves us with one more vacancy doesn't it? assuming no significant re-structuring as a result of the reviews i'd guess that would be Bassett?
-
The Harry Armstrong Thread
I wouldn't be upset if we picked him, but i think pick 5 will be a gun mid, and pick 9 will be the best available talent regardless of position, and if it's a tossup we'll probably take another mid

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Sid Draper is very much in the Zak Butters style as well in my opinion

Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
I think if anyone in this draft potentially presents as a Jimmy Toumpas in my mind it's Murphy Reid. Lindsay is a very very underrated contested ball winner which only compliments him being one of the most damaging outside players in the draft. I am honestly very surprised he's not in serious consideration for the top 5 selections.
-
2024 Phantom Drafts
The thing i was really surprised with about Lindsay is i kinda wrongly categorized him as a bit of a soft outside player, but he can definitely win his own ball, i feel it's an incredibly underrated part of his game, his outside weapons are just so good people don't seem to notice his ball winning. I am not sure what others see with Langford, but a mate of mine called him "Left footed David Mundy" and i've really been seeing that, he's got the height, a real weapon up forward and such a good ball winner who can get on the outside and be really dangerous

2024 Phantom Drafts
i'm more and more feeling like it'll be Langford and Lindsay joining the Dees
- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
