Exactly the reaction his manager is wanting. But also. amazing that the 3 gold coast Suns supporters could create such a fuss.

Welcome to Demonland: Changkuoth Jiath
3 way trade. Future 3rd for Clarry goes to Hawks, CJ to us, Clarry to Giants. Trading Clarry for CJ somehow feels better than for a future 3rd

Welcome to Demonland: Changkuoth Jiath
is pick 28 enough to get him?

I'm with Danny on this one, i think he's just told them that this is coming up again in 12 months, confirmed BH's desire to get out publicly and given the Suns something to think about. It's still incredibly unlikely but this was a last roll of the dice for 2025.

Well he's going to be on trade radio. time to say "Bailey has a really serious set of personal circumstances and he desperately wanted to get back to Vic, specifically the MFC, unfortunately to this point the GCS aren't listening to him and he is quite dissapointed in the lack of care he's being shown" Watch the landscape dramatically change if the managed gives the Suns a good whack and publicly declares his intentions.

Farewell Christian Petracca
What if the suns would rather Gawn?

Farewell Christian Petracca
Seriously, half of Demonland should be opposition teams trade negotiators because we're so much better at caring about their needs in a trade than our own. What if we say that some picks in a thin draft aren't enough. Pick 7 and 8 even in this draft are not worth 7 and 8 normally. in the top 10 alone there are 3 academy players, 1 father son and 2 free agency compensation picks. All will almost certainly drop before our first selection (7) besides maybe the father son which is touch and go.

Absolutely not our problem. why should we GAF what the Suns have enough points to do? Satisfy our needs if they want our player.
-
Bailey Humphrey
Sure, which is why i suspect we'll accept a picks only deal rather than just walk him back in the door. I don't think we're going to get totally shafted, we'll still get some picks we can do a bit with

Farewell Christian Petracca
I'd have 15 or F1 interchangable. if we're going to the draft i was Lindsay and Srlj (or however you say his name)
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
I'd consider 7, 8 and 15 for Petracca, 24, 28, 41

Farewell Christian Petracca
Sack literally everyone that signed up for such a putrid deal.
-
Bailey Humphrey
Not that i wouldn't badly butcher. @dazzledavey36 can probably help us out with this
-
Bailey Humphrey
Guessing that'd be young master Picketts?

We aren't salary dumping Christian Petracca...

So Pick 8, 24 and 36 for Oliver, Petracca and McVee. Yeah, thrilled.
-
Bailey Humphrey
This would mean that over a 4 year period between 23, 24, 25 and 26 we've had 8 first round picks come in the door. really really solid result and as good as i think we can hope for in this mess.
-
Bailey Humphrey
If we are giving them the late picks for their academy selections i'd like their future first included in the deal. Petracca, 24, 28 and 41 for 7, 8 and F1
-
Bailey Humphrey
I definitely get it, but equally it's not our problem. the fact the Suns look like getting this deal exactly how they want it, getting all their academy players and Petracca and only giving up a couple of picks they don't even care about is exactly what's wrong with the MFC. We seem more interested in finding a deal that looks good on paper than a deal that is good for the MFC. I acknowledge that they're trying with BH and that's great, but either get that over the line or have a serious think about what to do with Trac. rolling over feels like the lesser of two evils but i am not convinced it is big picture.

I'd like to float a wild trade proposal so please don't be too mean to me. 4 team trade involving the MFC, Hawks, Bombers and Suns Bombers get: Pick 8, 9 and the Hawks future 1. Bombers give: Zach Merrett Hawthorn get: Zach Merrett Hawthorn give: Pick 9, their future 1 and Cam McKenzie or Mitch Lewis Melbourne get: Pick 7 and Cam McKenzie or Mitch Lewis Melbourne give: Christian Petracca and pick 24 Gold Coast get: Christian Petracca and pick 24 Gold Coast give: Pick 7 and 8 Hawks pay overs, but that's what it's going to take to get this deal for Merrett done, Melbourne get a good young player and a top 10 pick, Suns get their guy and Hawks get another star to help them win a flag. I'll go and hide now.

The issue is the sum of all parts of the off season. I get what you're saying, 2 top 10 picks for Trac and his salary off the books in isolation is okay. Losing Trac, McVee, Clarry plus 700k and a bunch of later picks, for 7, 8 and 36 in a compromised draft after Tim Lamb and Paul Guerra talked so tough about "Best interests of the MFC and have to turn our heads" is the issue The messaging is shocking, and we will end up with what amounts to a fire sale
-
Bailey Humphrey
And Tim Lamb and Alan Richardson should hand in their resignations promptly for an utterly embarrassing and weak effort. the trade period that sees us lose Clarry, Trac and McVee plus later picks, AND pay half of Clarrys salary for picks 7, 8 and 36 in a heavily compromised draft is indefensible. We all know Trac won't stay, but serious football clubs hold senior people accountable when they are bent over the barrel and saying "We'll only trade him if they turn our head" and then accepting THAT deal is putrid.
-
Bailey Humphrey
This would be 1000% my play. Tim Lamb on the early trade tomorrow morning saying we're walking away from the trade table as the only deal we'd be interested in isn't on offer.
-
Bailey Humphrey
I love it. we give up a contracted star level player, the Suns get everything they want including us gift wrapping their academy picks for them and we get a couple of picks and told to shut up and be happy. Lets see how serious a footy club we are. If we're serious one of Bailey Humphrey or Christian Petracca is a demon in 2026.

I am sure it would be, essentially he'd be taking over Petraccas role, but i would safely guess it also includes a fairly significant pay rise as well as him being home with his family
