Could you prize WIll Green out of Sydney and back home to Victoria i wonder, could offer him security of a slightly longer contract, better money and being mentored by the best ruckman in a very long time. pretty appealing package.

We've been poor in the social media space for a while in my opinion, the Giants do it the best and get everything they can out of a fairly modest fan base. The Pies have the headache that none of their supporters can read so they have to do it a bit differently

He's rocking back and forth saying "Everything is fine"

Incompetent boards and executive tend to be hesitant to let people look too far into what they're doing. This is why they're also resistant to an independent review despite multiple former presidents and past players calling for it.

i logged on to make a comment about this! at least it's a big crowd watching them get absolutely destroyed.

Geez the Giants just [censored] the bed.

I would think Zone would be the most common defensive structure across not just AFL but virtually every team sport globally?

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who knows, we'd have to sell it that Yze held the position and got the Richmond job, he was replaced by Mini who might well get the eagles job so perhaps it's a good career move for someone like King if he has designs on a senior coaching gig. -

I don't know the details of contracts and so on with this, but Steven King is known to be an incredible tactical coach, i think if Mini goes to the Eagles and i suspect they'll get either him or King, we should try to prize King out of the Cats to be our next senior assistant and manage our offense. -
It seems being president of a multi million dollar sporting organization that's been embroiled in constant legal drama for your entire tenure is a much much more difficult situation than it might seem on a fan forum. As i said earlier, i agree it was the right time for a change, but to suggest she's bailed out when it's gotten tough is a joke, it's been a nightmare for her entire tenure and she's kept us going through that. I think the highlighted section of your post sums your position up pretty well.

I do hope that it's not lost on anyone the significant role she's played not only in helping win the flag in 2021, but guiding the club through a number of significant challenges off the field since she took over. While i agree it was the right time for her to go i definitely would want to acknowledge the role she's played and the positive impact she's had!

I think people misread where our list is at, every game we basically play half or more of our side as 23 and under players that have barely played any games, we're closer to a rebuilding side in terms of our team makeup and i honestly think it's a mistake to be recruiting players like Caleb Daniel to be anything more than handy depth, if he kept someone like Howes or Bowey out of the side and prevented them from developing, i think that's an objectively bad thing in the short, medium and long term. I think we could do with an experienced forward to help teach JVR, Jefferson, Turner and perhaps an experienced mid to help rebuild our depth in the midfield, but outside of that i'd be sticking to adding as many good young players as we possibly can before Tassie come in and the rebuilding becomes significantly more difficult.

This makes the most sense for both parties i'd say, part of the appeal for them obviously is the Battle compensation.

Beauty of an external review is that if Pert is fine as some seem to be claimed, that'll be re-enforced in the reviews findings, if, as i and others suspect there is a need for change, that'll be shown in the review as well. It's much better to know where we stand and make the appropriate changes.

What did you think about his comments about the best culture in 40 years? i almost fell off my chair when he said that. ironically i thought more highly of Goody after that interview, but Pert that was the moment he lost me.
-
Well going on there and talking absolute rubbish is not the best way to defend it. it was embarrassing.
-
Pert is the bloke who went on SEN boasting about himself overseeing the best culture he's seen in 40 years at the same time as we were having a string of major off field dramas that proved the culture is anything but. He and Goody to some extent as well both lost me the moment they did that. I'm sure he's been a wonderful servant of football for a long time, but you can't go to the media and make outrageous claims, completely fail to back them up and then be commissioned to review the same football department that's fallen into chaos under your watch.

Port will need to soften on their asking price. I wouldn't if i was them

It would be some backflip for Houston to say he's staying himself and flip and come to vic. Hope our own number 5 doesn't get any ideas.

I can understand why people would want to ask for pick 25, but when we've farewelled the guy publicly, acknowledged he's moving home on compassionate grounds and agreed to trade him, i feel like we've given up a lot of leverage to trade with, i see the Crows offering us a late pick and we don't really have anywhere to go from there.

I actually think Damo has been pretty good with the Trac stuff, i think he's one of the few journos who has done a really good job of seeing the fault in both sides of this situation. He's given Trac as many good clips as he has the MFC, and as far as i can see the MFC might be a basket case, but Trac hasn't been a saint either.
-
Ted Lasso managed to turn a vein, egotistical young man in Jamie Tartt around by benching him, perhaps the same needs to happy to our very own Jamie Tartt. Believe.
-
If Trac was anywhere near as good as he seems to think he is on and off the field he would be determined to play a leading role in helping the MFC get back to where it belongs, rather than looking for a chance to jump ship.
