  1. Interestingly hawthorn people who had track training there in his under age year said his attitude was the best of all the young players they've seen and they were shocked he didn't go pick 1. I remember asking at the time if they were aware of any attitude issues, and they said outside of him being quite cocky/arrogant there wasn't so maybe it's a rumour we spread to get him at pick 2
  2. I think paddy will become a good player in time, probably not elite but a good player. Petracca is already a good player and looks well on the way to being elite. But they needed a key forward at the Time and we needed mids.
  3. Problem is that it's a crap strategy, why recruit someone you know is a list clogger?

When clarry starts regularly hitting the score board, and he will, he will become one of the comps best mids very quickly
  5. Imagine the list we would have if Jason Taylor had control of all the picks the suns or giants got? I really think sos is an extremely overrated recruiter and has set Carlton back with some of his giants imports I mean why would anyone bother with Jed lamb or palmer??

I am extremely confident he will be fine! So much of his best work is In tight anyways and if they tag him it leaves Viney jones and Lewis on their own which seems dangerous amazing to think dom Tyson who I seriously rate is probably 5th or 6th in line in our mids now.
  7. People forget that these guys cheated. They aren't innocent victims, if they had any evidence at all they could have proved their innocence, they didn't even keep their own personal records. I hate this returning hero mentality, no one should be celebrated for doing the wrong thing

What I think goes unnoticed about clarry a bit given his grunt and amazing quick hands is his ball use, went at 88% and opened the game right up multiple times. Hes a beast on the inside but looks capable of doing serious damage on the outside.

What I really like is that despite some off field issues at the start of pre season Oliver is now in tipping condition and looks set for a really good year

His quick hands are incredible and he suits our game style perfectly! kid could be anything
  11. Let's not forget who is really to blame here, Stephen dank and the Essendon footy club for attempting to cheat. Nothing else that happened is nearly as significant as their attempt to cheat and to this day they still deny it.

This is a really important point I think, I may get shot down for this but I rate hunt just about on par with Kelly for talent, i find it unbelievable that he didn't get a rising star nomination last season. A really great example of a player those who attend training can see the talent of but those who rely on game day only probably didn't know much about, I think we might have another one this year with young smith as well, I really think he's one who could surprise a lot of people this year and play fairly regular senior games

I'm thinking we offer them cam pederson and they give us josh Kelly and Dylan Shiel?

seen more than enough of all three to be really comfy with that deal. Kelly may be the best of the lot but the combined ability of Tyson and Salem is probably a slight win for us imo but both sides would be really happy with it

why would anyone want to leave the giants? Sure he might have to take a pay cut but they might win the next 5 flags
  16. Media is his only chance, in my humble opinion
  17. As someone who has been through mental illness to a fairly serious degree I am absolutely sympathetic for what James hird is going through, part of me wishes the media would leave him alone, he's missed a year, paid his fines and will never work in the sport he loves again so while I've personally lost respect for him as a football person for his actions I wish him well with his health.
  18. I understand the need to leave James alone and that I don't have all the information but geez his old man didn't need to say anything did he? Just kept him in the media for another couple of weeks.
  19. My opinion is personally if any athlete in any professional sport is found guilty of drug cheating they should be banned for life if they did so knowingly, i understand there have been circumstances under the WADA code where the athlete was silly or negligent and i believe 2 years is about right for those cases, but if these players have indeed cheated, and lied about it i strongly believe they and all involved deserve a lifetime ban from the AFL, obviously that won't happen though because $$$ matter a lot more to the AFL than justice or integrity of the contest.
  20. The AFL should have said Pick 1 doesn't reflect where their list is at and we can't penalize teams like the Brisbane Lions who didn't cheat so we're going to give Essendon their first pick at the end of the first round giving them pick 18 I think that would have been fair, Pick 1 is an absolute disgrace.
  21. Yes! regardless of whether they are as guilty as a lot of people think, they are convicted drug cheats and the number 1 priority of the AFL and AFL media in this and all situations like this should be to make sure that that is condemned! regardless of the personal opinions of those involved, these players have been found guilty of cheating and should be treated as such by everyone outside of their club.
  22. I can catagorically say i will never go to another Essendon home game, i don't want to contribute money to a team that believes cheating is okay, and STILL to this day the players have never publicly taken responisibility for their own failings in this situation, they just play the victim card.
  23. I suspect they are being paid to keep their mouths shut.
  24. What's the point in contesting the lifetime ban from AFL? it's not like anyone would consider hiring him again surely.
  25. I write this being very confident Dank is all talk and has absolutely nothing, but even if he did have smoking gun evidence somehow i would have thought the players were still in breach - failure to keep records is a bannable offense on it's own isn't it?
