Hawthorn winning this would mean theres a good chance both them and the Swans will end up making the 8... again..... just when it looked like we might be rid of both for this season. Will either of them ever go away?
-
Hawks have had a solid patch of form. Sydney will blow them off the park tonight. Ill be bumping this post when it happens.
-
Yeah, cos the AFL were looking for a scapegoat. Cant even make a lighthearted joke without the nazis at AFL House gunning for you. Meanwhile Carlton tanked harder than anyone in history and they got away scot free.
-
Dogs please beat the Bombers - the thought of those drug cheats in the finals is too much.
-
Just leave the draw as it is. 22 games is perfect and it is pretty fair anyway, as the ladder is split into thirds to determine who plays who and how many times. The only problem of course being Essendon who were gifted the easiest draw (and pick 1) despite having all their players back from the ban. Thats just AFL corruption.

14 degrees, rain and winds up to 40 km/h in Hobart tomorrow. This will unfortunately even up the game and its gonna be a slog.
-
Theres 5 games left, and we are fighting for finals. Nobody should miss games through being managed, but they can have light weeks on the track. What Oliver has done this year at his age without rest, bye round excluded, is remarkable.
-
Just posted this in the match preview thread. They are big ins and outs. I reckon Gold Coast will win, especially as its at home. THey already have the wood over Richmond, they seem to always beat them.
-
Good to see Maynard is close. He was elevated so may play as a late change. On a non Melbourne note, I am surprised to see the Saints have rested Nick Riewoldt for the game vs Port. They are surely in no position to do that when they already face an uphill battle to play finals. Also the Tigers lost Jack Riewoldt and Prestia, while the Suns get back Ablett and May. Gold Coast will win that game.
-
The Blues haven't beaten the Hawks since 2005. Much worse than our streak when you consider all the top picks they got along with Chris Judd, and they played finals for a few years around 2010.

The Zak Jones interview thats been posted. Will be a Demon 100%.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DION JOHNSTONE
What replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
An article praising Dion has just popped up on the afl site http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-26/neon-dion-aims-to-add-some-punch-to-demons Seems like strange timing... is he debuting this week? -
Youre right. Hard to keep up with all the coaches we went through.
-
Wow. If Dusty leaves them for Sydney (or anyone else) the meltdown from Tiger supporters will trigger a magnitude 10 earthquake.
-
Paul Roos saved the Melbourne Football CLub. Kevin Sheedy applied for the 2012 job but was beaten out by Mark Neeld.
-
Saw this too, it was on last Sunday Footy Show. His reply was a dead giveaway he will likely be a Demon next season. I just shrugged my shoulders as I am not sure how he fits in when we are loaded with half backs and not sure he can play in the midfield. Though we may have plans to move Hunt to a wing.
-
Typical Sheedy desperate for attention, I knew he had been too quiet lately. He is one of the main causes of the cheating culture at Essendon. Hird learnt well from him.
-
Would be shocked if was called up this season, especially with Vince and Jones to come back in. And with finals in our sights, surely its not the time for debutantes.

Barrett was 100% right about the 'moneyball' strategy under Neeld. Rodan, Byrnes, Gillies.... We all defended the club at the time, naturally. But Barrett was spot on.
-
Yup not only are we a very well coached and well drilled side, but we are hungry and have stars all over the ground. Yes thats right, the MFC now has STAR PLAYERS (and a group of budding superstars). A bunch of them. Finally.
-
The irony in that comment is astonishing. You are the very definition of a company man towing the company line. Every other poster here has their own ideas and views, you just parrot what the club does and says and attack others for discussing footy and having their own opinion.

Jason Taylor can make any pick look prized. Pick 12-16 in his hand is like gold. And how many hammy injuries has Lever had this year, three? Are they related to his ACL graft? No way in hell we are giving away two first rounders for him without a sweetener back.
-
Biggest fear is that there will be a howling gale in the first quarter and we lose the toss. This ground is tricky.
-
We arent giving up two valuable assets for Lever. In either of those scenarios, we will be getting a 2nd rounder back.
