Cant speak for Gus, but his numbers and his massive last quarter where he willed Casey over the line suggest his confidence is going ok. I think if he tells the coaches hes ready, he will play vs the Saints. He is in great form and hes about 10 levels above VFL. Hes an upgrade on at least half a dozen players currently in the Demons side. On talent and determination, hes top 5. And whoever said he was slow, thats not true. In fact he has some pretty nice pace.

I should clarify, I think that 12 wins is a pipe dream if West Coast win today. If the Saints win, there will be 4 teams on 10 wins in 8th spot, separated by percentage. Its possible 12 wins will get you in in that scenario, but we would also be in a race for %. Good news is we are only 2% behind Essendrug and they still have a game to come vs the Crows. Need the Sainters to get up. Huge difference between being out of the eight by 2%, or being a whole game out after the round.

I did think before I posted. The guys you named have him for longevity obviously. None of them have had remotely anywhere as good a season as Oliver's 2017 and none had anywhere near the upside. He is already better than any of them ever were in their best seasons.
