  1. I do think we are heading the right direction. Imagine in 3 years Midfield: Viney, Trengove, Jones, Wines, Mckenzie and Maybe Grimes Forward line: Howe, Dawes, Sylvia, Hogan,Clark and Blease as a M/F could lead the AFL with that
  2. thats AFL buddy, not VFL. He has averaged 19.7 from 13 in AFL
  3. are you serious. for 13 matches to average 19.7 disposals is nothing short of brilliant.
  4. I think its amazing home optimistic you are, usually im optimistic but after the last 2 days of trade week my smile stiffened up. Gysberts is a 21 year old ball magnet and Pederson is a 25 year old player who couldnt get a game at north. But have their upsides and downsides. Melbourne should have gotten more out of the array of players we lost. Also i think that we gave up probably too many of our picks. But in return we got Dawes which is good. Hogan to me is the interesting one, i am stoked to get him but i'm going to sit on the fence, we did give up alot for him... but ill be optimistic and say i expect alot from him in the years to come. Rodan- Pick 88 WIN Pederson- Gysberts DRAW/LOSS Dawes- pick 21 WIN/DRAW/ LOSS could be anything Brynes- free WIN Hogan and Barry- pick 3 and 13 DRAW/LOSS cant say its a win because pick 3 and 13 from this years draft could well be stars, we did give up alot of hogan Viney- 27 WINWINWINWINWIN best of the whole period this is all my opinion
  5. Well Stefan Martin last year was one of the most improved and exciting new developed players in 2011. Martin is one of the rare talls that is agile and has the smarts to go along with that. Martin can ruck, forward and be a fill in defence if needed. Clearly he spent the 2012 year injured and that was most of the reasoning for why he didnt play at the level he did in 2011. Martin therefor for his past improvement and an unlucky 2012 is worth more than nothing. If i had asked you at the start of 2012 do you think Stef Martin is worth pick 53 and 73, you would have laughed and told me not a chance in hell. Morton has never really fit in at Melbourne and clearly hasnt put in his all for the club and the development of himself on the field and in the gym. But when Morton plays well, it is quite amazing to watch a player like him that is perceived as a spud at the Melbourne Foootball Club, he plays like a gem. Morton is work to me about pick 60, not pick 88. Although pick 60 is nothing special, its not a PASS, pick 88 is an upgrade or a PASS.
  6. I agree, but they are worth more than money. Football is also a business. I agree they are both not in our best 22 or future plans. They both have talent and we should have gotten more.. thats my opinion.
  7. im going to be optimistic, im just sceptical about the last 2 days of our trading. Surely Gysberts for Pederson is not fair. we should have gotten a pick also, Gysberts is a ball magnet who doesnt fit in with Neeld's plans, which is ok. he still has value. We should have said Martin for pick 33 or nothing. The players we got such as Viney, Hogan, Dawes, Rodan and Brynes are some players we really need and im stoked with them.. as they are our present and future. Hopefullly Barry does something and Pederson, followed by picking up wines in the draft!
  8. there is a massive difference between owning it and smashing it. we did not smash it. we gave away Morton and Martin for sweet fa. Ill admit we got some good pickups in there, im not angry, just confused. Couldnt agree more with those comments. Just think maybe we could have gotten more for the talent we just lost?
  9. i am a beyond fanatic Melbourne fan. What'd we just do. Martin for pick 53 and 73.. two useless picks? Gysberts for Pederson.. not good either. Gysberts has been unreliable but still 21 and a huge talent. surely we could have gotten more for gys. Morton practically for free (pick 88), im not really disturbed by that, he terrible. Rodan is a good pickup. Someone convince me we did well?
  10. i agree. we have also seen him play some TAC cup standard games.
  11. Well we have 2 days left of trade periodd... we will see where Cale ends up. Honestly we are looking at getting pick 61 or 62, who even cares. Keep Cale, hopefully he ends up coming in handy
  12. as much as i think Morton is a piece of showerheisen. Morton has a good amount of talent and when at his best which we have all seen before, he is a really good player. maybe give him another year or 2. see how he pans out. than again, if he left i really wouldnt been upset. maybe if he actually puts on some muscle and starts playing regularly, i might change my decision. either way im content. also, does anyone actually think he could endure a full Misson preseason?
  13. We are going to have to give upa second roung or start of 3rd round pick for Ray
  14. i love the ferocious tackler part about Ollie Wines. Him and Jack Viney destroying those young GWS boys would lighten up my life
  15. You'd be surprised. Bate Martin and Gys all have currency! Not very high, but they do
  16. At the start of the year when i used to see Sellar in our team i wondered if Neeld actually cared about his job. But throughout the year he showed he can be the type of blocking player and 1 on 1 we need at both Defence and Forward line. He'd be in our best 22 right now
  17. Sellar isnt on the fringe. The rest in the next 1-3 years will either be at another club or not playing AFL
  18. what about Mitch Clark as relief ruckman. Plus we have spencer and Gawn. Than Dawes 1 out, finally he can play the position he deserves
  19. Martin will go to Brisbane for pick 33. Pederson for our pick Either hold pick 33 or trade it for someone decently good (not Ray)
  20. Magnet will be upgraded (works his ass off) Nicho will be upgraded. Keep Couch for one more year on the list. The rest is touch and go
  21. pretty harsh. Davey isnt that bad, Pettard is not that bad. we arent going to get broughton. Hopefully martin goes and we get someone/something for him because he is just another player who isnt consistent
  22. At this point i have 3 favourite players.. Trengove, Grimes and Watts. All are demons through and through. The players that decide to leave Melbourne (aka Rivers) arent people who fight through and through for our football club. Moloney is adifferent situation.
  23. I agree, Bailey's policy and coaching ideas werent shocking but not a winning formula. Neeld i fell as if he is trying to create a winning formula rather than just being OK. Although that statement kind of contradicts itself, as we lost most of our games this past year, he is definitely trying to make sure we get the right people around the club (such as Mitch, Dawes and Brynes) 2 of them are premiership winning players.
