As good as Packer's defence was that Chicago offensive line is terrible and has been for a while. Feel sorry for Cutler back there Clay Matthews was practically unblocked that whole first quarter and then they over adjusted for his pass rush and everyone else was getting a shot at Cutler. With Rodgers still failing to find any of his 2011 regular season form, yesterday's performance did nothing to show they are better than 49ers, falcons, cowboys or the giants.

His stats were good, but he threw lots of screens and short passes where the wide receiver made the play. Rams defence is far superior to the Saints outfit that was rolled out last week, especially at the corner's, plus Fisher and co. will plan for the Baylor style offence they ran last week. The Rams Skins game will be in the trenches whoever can run the ball better will win the game and with Rams o/line possibly losing 3 of its starters from last week Washington probably have the edge.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

Lols Jack didn't play any games in the TAC cup this year, keep watching you battler. -
Picks 3 or 4 would be worth a lot more to them if they want to get Grundy
-
Yes I'm not disputing that but even if Jacobs decides Melbourne's his first preference, our chances of bringing him to Melbourne are only as strong as the offer we provide Port Adelaide.
-
It's naive to think that Jacobs would be willing to only go to Melbourne no matter how much money is thrown at him. He wants to come home first and foremost therefor Port will take the best offer put before them hopefully that is the Dees but Jurrah won't get it done.
-
There are plenty of other clubs vying for Ben's services and thus if Melbourne presents Port with a ridiculous trade such as what you're suggesting they will just move onto the next Victorian club's proposal. So they have plenty of choices because multiple clubs are seeking his services as opposed to Jurrah. BJ isn't a free agent so you can't simply put money before him to lure him to the Dees; you have to be able to work out a trade with Port Adelaide rather than the player himself.
-
Yeah the 49ers looked scary good, defence was just as tough as last year. They hit so darn hard you can hear it when you watch them Willis, Aldon Smith, Bowman, Rogers all pack a mighty punch, can't see them losing to any NFC West rivals unfortunately. Liked the way the Rams played, we were never going to be able to go toe-to-toe with them but our opportunistic defence managed to make plays, picking off 3 of Stafford's balls. Also really liked Bradford in the 4th managing two scoring drives without key offensive linemen. Was also good to see Sanchez play well, he is under a lot scrutiny from the NY media who are extremely critical of the high draft pick. Hopefully he can silence the doubters and continue to keep Tebow off the field.
-
Port like to play hardball and although Ben will nominate his preferred destination, Port will accept whatever the best offer is put before them irrelevant of how much money we have offered Ben
-
Yeah they are, their head of recruiting Francis Jackson used to be the coach of Brighton Grammar's first XVIII and he lured Ben to Brighton. Was a big fan back then obviously still is.
-
Jurrah practically has zero trade value and Jacobs will be a very good player, won't happen
-
Nick Smith has more potential than both combined, every time I watch the scorps he is clunking them. If you could develop his set shot he could be a beauty
-
Yeah as much as I would love to see him in the red and blue I can't see them fielding any offers. He is ranked number 1 for uncontested possessions in the AFL which shows his ability to get the pill.
-
You can still trade players who are contracted

And another one bites the dust - Cook

This is a classic example of a 'reach' at the drafting table. He was never up to first round quality but there was pressure to get a big forward for the team rather than draft the best available player, which was one of Jacobs, Atley or Smedts. If only Gold Coast could have let Tom Lynch fall one place later we would have got an absolute beauty. -
Mm I think if he had previously been a successful senior coach it would have been more accepted but for a first time coach to start having go's at the players i.e. Watts and Davey in the media, certainly didn't seem to garner much support form the playing group.

Does anybody know how the voting system works?

The guy's family has been ordered to leave Northern Territory because they are at risk, and some of you are disappointed he has left to be with them. Surprised he didn't leave earlier, I know if my family was at danger I would be with them
-
St kilda wanted to give him a contract extension and he wasn't willing to sign, plus the fact he had a contract clause allowing him to leave practically meant he was on the market. Have a read http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/lyon-to-honour-saints-contract-20110913-1k7w8.html Garry even talks him up yet fails to make contact that shows signs of ineptitude.
-
Yes nobody knew he was leaving, but everybody knew he was out of contract and Melbourne FC owe their supporters the due diligence to at least seek him out to see what his intentions were.

To add to this post, when first year players walk into a club they are given a player to mentor them through the process, at the least providing an example for the youngster to follow. This player usually comes in the form of somebody who plays in the same position, has a few years under his belt and has established themselves as a key player in the side. Michael Hurley would have been able to look up to Matthew Lloyd seeing the hard work he puts in, Naitanui could have followed Dean Cox around for his first year yet all the while, and I know this for a fact, our new hope Wattsy had none other than Juice Newton as his mentor. Imagine walking into a club and having Brad Miller and Michael Newton as the key forwards he's supposed to learn off, the kid never stood a chance.

Not saying Sylvia isn't accountable for his own performance and attitude but he and Moloney are best mates, and in the first half of the season Col and Brent were showing no pride in their performance in what seemed like neither were "willing to buy into" Neeld's coaching. I remember Neeld saying on radio after the Hawthorn game that he sat Sylvia down and told him where he is at, basically telling Col his attitude and commitment to his game wasn't at the standard it should be. Whether Sylvia's attitude was reflective of his best mate's is merely conjecture, but in a recent article quoting Neeld, per http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default.aspx?newsid=146068, he purposely contrasted Moloney's season with Sylvia's mentioning how Colin is now a leader at the club whereas Moloney has been languishing. Maybe I am reading into something that's not there, but if Brent isn't willing to "buy in" as Greeny stated, it can become cancerous and there is no point in keeping him.

I was happy to be proven wrong, but you don't have to act like a [censored] when I was merely passing on what I had read Obviously there had been no clear guidelines set by the AFL as their website contradicts what they have previously said
