  1. 30 hit outs to 6....gameplan... anyone
  2. 6 inside 50's for the Saints and 4 goals 1 Do we have a defence ?
  3. the Weed, TomMac and Melksham... not a touch between them as yet and first quarter is half over
  4. and they're not even very good at it. From the AFL site... That goal to Tim Membrey was just St Kilda''s 3rd goal this season launched from their defensive 50.They are ranked 18th in the competition at launching scores from this zone.
  5. Hogan playing okay against GWS.... Freo not looking like easy beats
  6. was commenting on your contention that we could be considered contenders not on whether we will beat the Saints. Actually I believe we should win today but we need an enormous amount more before we can be considered potential finalists let alone contenders.
  7. 22 games actually and we did lose three straight including by around 90 points to one of them.Hardly contender material
  8. not sure anyone considers ourselves as contenders based on the last five weeks
  9. what dig... it's just an article on the Saints and has a throw away comment about how in 2016/7 they were seen on similar trajectories. It hardly mentions Melbourne. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/saints-making-progress-in-rivalry-with-demons-20190419-p51fni.html
  10. nah... all teams find their one off accuracy for the season against us... vide Geelong 16:4 for the Saints
  11. thanks but at $500k.... he's far from a gun gun forwards start at around $700k and then there is the term ???
  12. The Birds of Tokyo at an Anzac day game............
  13. respect where it is due. Port may not have got the reward on the scoreboard but that was a great first quarter. Lost count of the contested marks
  14. was ready to watch that game if it got interesting scorewise but like last night it was a slow moving train wreck. Let's hope the game in the west is a little closer. Other than Hawthorn v Geelong on Monday it really is a lacklustre round of football from a match up viewpoint.
  15. looks like we played the Bombers into form
  16. as they should... they are important to the competition
  17. AS WJ says it's probably designed to give the young bodies a rest but it would have been good to see them in a free flowing game. Not sure what it is about the VFL comp but it seems to involve a lot more packs. Perhaps it just looks that way when you watch the game from boundary level.
  18. may not go down well in some circles. As an aside it was amazing how the story of Darwin was a classified war secret for so long.
  19. Why don't Essendon play in Darwin ???
  20. Because they have the third or fourth biggest following and Collingwood cannot be everywhere. We had three prime time evening slots in a row and stank on two of them. Guess who the public want to see.
  21. didn't realise there was a second game on until you mentioned it. NM v Bombers is a snooze fest for me but I will watch the Eagles and Port. Hopefully Port puts up a decent show but I doubt it.
  22. agree... but why do they constantly play him as an inside mid at VFL level if we are trying to develop the skills you mention. I know it builds up his tackling strength etc but perhaps it is time to .... Let Billy Run !!
  23. he really has gone backwards from what we thought he could be in 2016.
  24. Give the Pies their due... they have a plan B as well as a Plan A. Compare tonight to how they beat Richmond
