COVID & AFL 2021
May I recommend the Loudest Voice with Russell Crowe A tough watch but a small insight into how Fox News was born If you believe it all even the Murdoch clan couldn't control the errant child

It is time BT is pensioned off
I blame Howard Cosell but he got this right.... Professional boxing is no longer worthy of civilized society. It's run by self-serving crooks, who are called promoters.... Except for the fighters, you're talking about human scum.... Professional boxing is utterly immoral. It's not capable of reformation. I now favor the abolition of professional boxing. You'll never clean it up. Mud can never be clean.

COVID & AFL 2021
I doubt that even the AFL would be into allowing the tail to wag the dog. Unless WA allows restriction free entry into WA by other teams the Perth teams will be headed for Brisbane or Adelaide until he does. Tasmania perhaps but that would upset Hawthorn

Petty Re-Signs Until End of 2025
Moved from a possible to a definite during 2021. Will be interesting to see where Tomlinson is played in 2022 and if Petty is played forward what about TMac and Weid Selection problems to make one salivate

2021 Player Reviews #24 Trent Rivers
What a player. Doesn't get the headlines of the other two from that magnificent draft but does his job well week in, week out. Provides excellent release from the backline, an excellent tackler and a good midfield rebounder. Has become one of my favourite players.

2021 Player Reviews: #15 Ed Langdon
His ability to fnd space and to provide the running outlet from the 50m defensive line is remarkable. A key contributor to our success particualrly for forward entries. Can't say I recall too many defensive plays but that is not why he is in the team.

The Grand Final Rematch
We are the away team for both QB and Anzac eve so no $$ there. Need Essendon and Carlton home games at the MCG in the first six rounds preferably. (While their fans think they have a chance in 2022) TBH Bulldogs won't deliver a high number of away fans which is where you make the money. Also it will get its own Friday night status when played. Why would you share that TV coverage with a Thursday night game

The Grand Final Rematch
Not a great fan for a few reasons Opening round skills are often low (have a look at Rd1 2021 against Freo) Distracts from the Pennant presentation which is a first for most of us and given no crowds in 2021 is even more special

2021 Player Reviews: #11 Max Gawn
His game around the ground not to mention his improvement as an impact forward has put him in the top ten players in the AFL. The season and the premiership was a team effort and Max was captain of a great team. Thanks Max

2021 Player Reviews: #9 Charlie Spargo
A tackling machine who is smart and contributes on the scoreboard. Played every game for the season and is definitely now well out of the proverbial bottom six.

2021 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
Was probably a key to our successful season. More than any other player he allowed Goodwin to build a successful gameplan which at its simplest denied opposing teams the easy rebounding forward entry that plagued us in 2017-2019. While he doesn't have a great kick (lots of up and under type disposals) his decisions under pressure result in so many rebounds. Thanks Jake

Saturday Morning on Demonland (2)
Now up to Round 4 (Geelong at the MCG) in my replay watching. (Generally one quarter each day). The improvement skill wise from Round 1 is astonishing not to mention seeing Petracca's game grow in front of your eyes. Of course the goalkicking allowed our opponents to stay in many games. If we can improve that stat across the season by even 25% we could be seriously good.

2021 Player Reviews: #6 Luke Jackson
All three 2019 draftees contributed so much to our 2021 premiership year. From the first time I saw Jackson doing his follow up in the ruck move I knew we had something special. He has also moved from competing round the ground to being a focal point taking crucial marks and kicking key goals. The upside is enormous but the present is so rewarding. Thanks Luke

COVID & AFL 2021
Given our French based posters this extremely large French study is very encouraging. Vaccination reduces the risk of dying or being hospitalised with Covid-19 by 90%, a French study of 22.6 million people over the age of 50 has found. The research published on Monday also found that vaccines appear to protect against the worst effects of the most prevalent virus strain, the Delta variant. “This means that those who are vaccinated are nine times less at risk of being hospitalised or dying from Covid-19 than those who have not been vaccinated,” the epidemiologist Mahmoud Zureik, who oversaw the research, told Agence France-Presse. The study – the largest of its kind so far – was carried out by Epi-Phare a scientific group set up by France’s health system, its national health insurance fund, l’Assurance Maladie (CNAM), and the country’s ANSM medicines agency. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/oct/11/french-study-vaccines-cut-covid-deaths

Hawks on the Slide: How Mitchell is making life hard for himself
And now there's a quasi challenge to Chairman Jeff https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/kennett-s-board-facing-challenge-from-former-super-boss-ex-hawk-20211011-p58z1w.html Jeff Kennett’s Hawthorn board is facing a potential challenge from the just-retired head of Australian Super, Ian Silk, and well-known former player and ex-board member Andy Gowers.

COVID & AFL 2021
Beware the Northern Winter If Europe and the US have a bad covid winter (think 40 year old vaccinated people dying in numbers) with a new variant 2022 may resemble 2021 Hope I am very wrong but this time last year we all thought 2021 would be sunshine and roses.

3 More Years for Chris Scott
Gate receipts pure and simple. Geelong makes roughly the same money at Kardinia Park with 30k as it does with 60k at the MCG Traditionally only Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond and in the past Hawthorn deliver that 60k plus number. Come 2022 I would not be surprised if we swap with Hawthorn in the Geelong roadtrip.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - OSKAR BAKER
Surprised that Baker was not snapped up by another team. He deserves a chance to show that he has what it takes. VFL is not often a game for wingmen. Perhaps because it's often more congested with genuine switching of play etc far less common. Shows how tight the listing situation this year for most clubs.
