It's a long season and Melbourne winters make the training and games cycle just that little tougher. Not time for resting anyone now but post bye game management for a few players will become important. I wonder if Gawn has just dialled back his ruck effort this season to get that edge around the grounds. If he has that is smart management. We are also likely to see more man on man tactics being used against us which tends to put more stress on the body.

results this weekend have done us no favours really Brisbane looks well on its way to a win and the Eagles win keeps their top 4 hopes well and truly alive. Probably down to six teams for the top 4 now. At least we have a 4 game break on the ninth and tenth teams so the 8 is starting to look safe. If Dogs had lost today and given they play Port next week we could have had a real mini break on them

you're right I think we could get mid second for Tom Mac and the salary cut would cover Weideman. My concern is that the money men have not fully factored in L Jackson. His 2022 price could be very significant. TBH while I would be concerned if Weid left it wouldn't worry me greatly.

My guess is that it has a base which could well be $900k and then a % of total player payments. Makes sense as no one really knows where the salary cap is going in the next 3-5 years. Not generally in favour of more than four years but this one makes sense.
