  1. Got me thinking.... if we'd given Goodwin and Richardson a job as "membership ambassadors" for 2026 would their salary have been outside the soft cap. Can't be that easy
  2. Just out for lunch on the equator having a Sarawak laksa. A crow swooped down and knocked a bowl off the hawker stand. Definitely an omen Lunch was $10 for two including some kolo mee and drinks. Won't mention the temperature Go Crows
  3. Geelong have rewritten the book on key incentives outside the salary cap. Strange that Freo and more particularly West Coast haven't followed on. There's a lot of new money in the West. For all that the money paid to AFL "stars" is chicken feed compared to most sports
  4. McStay omitted and Cox in. Go Adelaide Would love to be a fly on the wall at the Adelaide oval observing the "friendly banter" between Crow's supporters and the Magpie clan
  5. The only reason you'd take on the job as coach of Tassie is that performance wise it's stress free for 3-5 years. Then you get out with $8-10M in your pocket. It's a development/list management role. If Buckley is serious about coaching now it's us or maybe Carlton next year. Then again perhaps he wants less stress. The MFC gig is no bed of roses that's for sure. No idea what he would pick up in the media but it's not mega bucks
  6. One of its problems is that the large space behind the goals (non train line end) is used for the ground maintenance tractors and big shed etc. This area is closed off on game day but cleared of the tractors etc it could accomodate 200-500 people. The Swinburne centre almost touches the ground fence. TBH it's probably not a goer for crowds moving forward. AFLW needs to get attendances right before it goes after TV audiences. In other words build the buzz. I can understand the expansion but now there's too much product for the demand. Perhaps they should have started with combo teams. Heretical to die hards but 18/19 teams is 8/9 too many
  7. As the season is now in the warmer months Vic Park could easily be the home ground for four teams with games being played during the day on a Saturday and Sunday. Shared between four teams it would attract funding. Developed to hold say 6-7k it would make the perfect venue to re-imagine a competition that attendance wise is losing its way. Having been to Punt Rd for a few VFL games it has very little room between the ground fence and the road for a lot of the ground
  8. It should be a permanent VFLW venue. Build facilities for say 8k and you have an inner city stadium well served by public transport. You could play day games on Saturday and Sunday. Make it a family venue/outing especially as the weather improves. Night games are not the future for AFLW if you want to grow attendances nor unfortunately is Casey
  9. Nice hard win. Next week Richmond at Casey in what looks like decent weather Shame about the injuries but who knows
  10. Do you seriously think any of the first 22 are on the chopping block. The six delistings were playing for Casey
  11. The FrankHauser oval Sounds like a place to ... Do the Time Warp Again
  12. Brings back an old saying... Great to play in one VFL flag but you never want to play in two
  13. Casey looked a little more balanced without Jeffo. Not his fault but when TMac was playing down back and we had Jeffo Johnson Fullarton Kentfield and Verrall up forward we were top heavy. Fullarton could save his spot in the next few weeks if he continues his form down back. At present I'd guess he's on the wrong side of the cusp but not overly much. Saw that he was rucking occasionally. An essential skill as we are well aware
  14. Tholstrup showed plenty. A strong finals series could be just what he needs. Mentha has been quiet despite the good wins of late. Perhaps he's playing a role that I have not noticed. As a team still just a little too much boundary line ball movement for my liking but way better skills by hand and foot. Strong goal kicking accuracy for such a windy day
  15. So IF we win next week it's Southport with their man mountain ruck in a PF
  16. Was wondering the same thing. Great win by the Dees.. Now to the Pine trees of Frankston. Lovely post match interview with Young Yze
  17. Magnificent clearance by Culley
  18. Great camera work for that Cross goal
  19. Given the likely delistings I'd certainly think hard about it
  20. great running from Kolt in that chain
  21. Not now We had a look at him last year and he wasn't ready. This is his best game that I've seen. Will he make it? Like his size for a flanker
  22. Thanks.... did not know that but I don't think I've seen a ball up on the goal line in years
  23. why not just tap it through Dumb
  24. Missed the HTB free just before the free to the Gulls Lovely goal Luker
