What about a straight swap Jamar for Sewell? They need another ruckman we need more mids

The AFL should bring out their formula for working it all out and then everyone knows what their player will be worth. Where the sides pick falls should have absolutely nothing to do with it. There will be the 5 bands or whatever it is and then you can work out ok Sylvia is band 3 therefore we will have a pick after our 2nd rounder or whatever it is. That way sides can work out how they want to approach the remainder of the free agency. If for example he is only band 4 I'd say we would then chase another free agent because it would be like picking them up with a late pick anyway. I don't understand why this needs to be hidden.

Oh right I forgot about the net loss crap. Yep it's ridiculous. Free agency should be one week coz most of the deals are done beforehand.

They should just update sides on compo that day. It can't be that hard. They know what the criteria is so put it into your little formula and then say here you go here is band 3 pick after so and so. Why do they have to wait until it is all finished? Stupidity.

A lot of the time clubs will say that to try and bump up the price. I don't think it is done and dusted just yet.

I've got a good feeling about Shiel. GWS already have a lot of midfield talent with Coniglio, Scully, Ward, Greene, Whitfield etc. I'm sure they have got their eye on Scharenberg to add to their defence. They would know Shiel is a risk of leaving once his contract runs out. I'd say at the moment they are trying to get more out of us to see how bad we want him but I'd think that our recruiters will stand strong and it will get done straight swap 2 for Shiel. That's my take on it.

This is further proof that the AFL is starting to become a very unequal comp. It doesn't bother me that Sylvia is leaving because there is nothing we can do about it. But the fact is the AFL need to think of a way to help the lower clubs before it gets out of hand. Soon we will see the Hawks and Swans and Pies just continue to top up with other teams players very much like the EPL and we will just sit between last and mid table for ever. Until maybe some rich person takes over and pumps money into us. I am afraid for this competition and if it continues like this I won't bother watching anymore and will spend my time doing other things. I love the club but I can see things going very badly for the AFL.

Definitely a strong rumour going around about Shuey wanting to come back to Victoria.

I was thinking about this the other day. The main Hawks that they built a team around was Mitchell, Hodge and Franklin. Obviously they've got a lot of other very good players but you have to have the outstanding players to build a side around. This is what we will have with those three plus Trengove and Watts(hopefully). Roos just has to build these guys confidence up so they believe they can be the best.

Getting back onto the trade rumours how does everyone feel we will go? My thoughts are that: 1) We won't get a good enough player offered for pick 2 and will use it on the best mid available. 2) We will pick up Cross and possibly Chapman as De-listed free agents. 3) We will trade in fringe mids from other clubs with our 3rd,4th and 5th round picks. These could be players such as; Greenwood, Michie, Liam Anthony, Shane Savage etc.

Fyfe is a W.A. boy?

He's got a few years left the problem is we aren't going to be playing off for a flag any time soon. It's a fine balance between trading for a mature mid but we can't give up too much for someone who won't be around too long. I'm all for picking up mature players through FA or trading if they are in the 22-25 age bracket.

Kennedy never won a brownlow?

If that is tru about his Dad then 100% we do not want this guy at our club. They are basically holding Richmond ransom. Should've taken the deal Tigers offered up earlier but didn't. Hope he goes into the draft and then someone offers him a lower than average wage.

I think Howe is a must keep. He's an X factor player and they can come up big in finals (when we hopefully one day make it). We definitely need to find some genuine mids but X factor players are just as important. I do hope he can become more consistent as he matures a bit like Stevey J did. He started out as very much a forward who could do the mecurial but often went missing, to being a very consistent forward/mid.

Hopefully Freo so we can watch Newbold's face when the siren goes.

I think a few here underestimate how handy having an extra first round pick would be. It would give us another option of trading in a ready made player and there is plenty of those looking to move this trade period. I personally believe that is what we will receive and that is fine any help is good. Though I do find the article to be very hypocritical. We were bashed from pillar to post this year and everyone saying we've got a 10 year re-build and we ae no good. Now the same people are saying we have loads of potential and could turn it around quickly. What a load of BS I say f*** the media and f*** the rest of the comp. Go Dees!

They did mention that we may get a end of first round pick. I'd be happy with that should hold some trade currency.

I didn't know about these draft concessions but it seems another factor in the un-equal competition we are a part of. Why the hell should the Swans get such access to these kids with a last pick, it's a joke. And other sides are complaining about us getting a PP, these sides get helped every year. Do we get to take kids around the Casey area on special deals? I doubt it. This comp stinks and I'm sick of it.

If we could land Adams and Tyson with pick 2 that would be a big get. Tyson is highly talented just unlucky with injury so far.

Excactly. We are obviously on the lookout for talent from other clubs, but we've also go to remember we've got a lot of young mids still to come through. Trengove, Viney, Toumpas, Barry, Kent, Taggert, Evans etc. all of these guys could benefit greatly and we may see marked improvement in them. And by the sounds of it Taylor Adams isn't interested in joining us (though we should definitely not give up) so we will need to see improvement from our current players as well as look for others.

From everything I've heard the Tigers have been very understanding and tried to help him. We need midfieldtalent bad but I really hope we don't touch him.
