  1. Re Brownlow. I did a calculation on Brownlow votes if they matched AFLCA between Clarry and Bont. After Rd11: Bont is on 13.5 votes with a range 12-14. Clarry is on 14.5 votes with a range 12-18. Not sure about other players. Clarry has possibly 4 BOGs so far. Another 4 in the second half and the Charlie is probably his.
  2. I was thinking the same thing!
  3. The 3/0 split on Petracca is interesting. Was it Beveridge giving him 3 votes because you really notice him, and Goodwin thinking 'meh, just another good game, nothing special' or the other way round? I think it more likely that Goodwin gave Harmes 3 votes given the way Goodwin, May etc spoke about Harmes post-game. (BTW I don't think it's possible that Harmes/Lever were split 2/2 but my brain is hurting with the maths).
  4. Oliver is in Brownlow form. Forget Patracca and Bont - Cayton is the ONE.
  5. THAT WAS BRILLIANT
  6. I really can't see how we can justify bringing in BB after today's underwhelming display. When Roos took over in 2014, one of the first things he implemented was only rewarding players who had played well in the VFL and not simply dropping players from the seniors only to replace them with players who had been dropped 2 weeks before. Apart from his poor accuracy, Mitch Brown has been the premier forward over the last 2 weeks. He's got to be ahead of BB for the replacement for Weeds. I'm crossing over into a different thread now....so will post further there.
  7. How is it that we have to watch a Casey home game on the Swans youtube channel? Get it together Demons.
  8. Use this link for youtube and casy radio for commentary. Theres a delay with the commentary but if you pause the video foe enough seconds you can sync it. https://youtu.be/YZIJ8w9PL-U
  9. I disagree. If I had a choice between beating the Bulldogs and losing to the the Crows or the other way round, I'd choose this result by a mile. I think it says more to to have beaten (all of the) premiership rivals before September, with a glitch against a bottom side rather than be worried by our rivals. Rather win every game though!
  10. Weed and Jacko worked well together last year, before Jacko was injured. This will be their first game together since then.
  11. Listening to the game with no vision reminded me of my childhood listening to Demon games on the radio back in the 70's when i was a kid. I know people still listen to games on the radio but it'd been a while for me. I enjoyed it. Meanwhile, we seem to have a few players who are able to fit straight in should injuries/form demand it. I'm thinking Mitch Brown, Jetta, Daw, Sparrow and more. It's shaping up as a great year ladies and gentlemen!
  12. YOU BEAUTY!!!!
  13. Step Up Sam. This is your chance. Create a headache for us in 2 weeks when Jacko is back and ready.
  14. I feel much more comfortable with Geelong getting to 4th place than Richmond, even though we've beaten both! Go Cats.
  15. I took the same username on Land and probably stopped posting on ology about 3 years ago, maybe more. A pity, there was some fun banter - including the non-footy stuff. Does anyone remember the thread started by Robbie F called "Are we in , or about into enter a recession?". It was started soon after the election of Rudd in 2007 or early 2008 but before everyone knew of the impending Global Financial Crisis. It was so passionate that 'ology had to split the boards between footy and non-footy after that.
  16. In 2015 he was being touted as a potential AA backmen. And even though he'd been back and forth between forward and back between 2015-17 he became a permanent forward after the injury to Jesse Hogan. Because he did so well there esp in 2018 he's stayed there. Now we're deficient in the backline. I think he can do it.
  17. being nominated yet, he's 3rd favourite
  18. He's such a stalwart of the team now it's easy to forget he remains eligible for the Rising Star. 13 players have received multiple nominations over 2 years, 3 of them were Demons and one of them played today. Without googling do you know who the previous Demons were?
  19. % is points for / points against x 100 In order to increase percentage we would need to win by a greater amount than our current %. Any other result will result in a decrease in % The longer the season goes on, though, the less impact an individual game will have on % though the principle remains the same.
  20. Not quite as good, but similar in a way to Farmer's Goal of the Century. Took possession in theback half and gave and received all the way until a goal was scored.
  21. Yeah, nobody at Melbourne wanted him to go, but his grandmother was ill and the club facilitated the trade for unders for considerate purposes. I went to a game in Perth back in 2014 and Jeff spoke at the pre-game function. As at that time, his grandmother was still alive and kicking!
  22. With Hogan starring for GWS today I was reminded of the long list of Fremantle Docker trade F Ups they've had over the years. They missed out or traded away players like Macleod and Hodge and they recently traded out Langdon to us, who looks like he'll make AA this year. Anyway, check out my Hogan/Neale/May graphic.
  23. There's both a good and a troubling story no matter the result. If Rich win, was it just an abbearation last week? If Dogs get up, then we have a competitor. A hard-fought injury and suspension ridden last quarter resulting in a draw is the result I'm going for.
