They need to wallop Carlton to get % clear of Sydney. 2nd is still on,still unlikely
  2. You still haven't understood the Jackson is going to Western Australia have you! Geez ... Grundy or no Grundy thete is no Jackson
  3. Gone backwards perhaps, unsettled from some injuries that matter as well. But my memory of last years finals was that, seemingly from nowhere ,they could hit targets!!!!! I still recall Gus catching a pass, literally on the boundary line , in the GF...it almost looked intentional! Even Oliver's wild eyed running and kicking seemed as if he knew where he wanted the ball to go....and it did That's actually all they need to fix
  4. Neither can I .
  5. I'd settle for Kossie to stop trying for mark of the year, get front and centre.. THAT'S what small forwards do and kick goal of the year ,with or without the stupid tongue out running in circles thing...Trac actually got genuinely good when he stopped doing that.. Just sayin' Spargo could kick it to him..he seems to make better choices than most of our midfield champs
  6. Yep hitting the post 3 times from the boundary on a windy day is unlucky after that it's mostly skill and focus.
  7. Yeah as long as it's no more than 40 metres Spargo would be the man for mine. He got one from there against the Hawks after the first quarter siren in ..2018(?) It was at his absolute limit but I think he's got another 5 metres these days. Clutch goals on the siren Fritta and Raggedy Anne I am not sure. Kicking to finish off the Pies with 5/10 minutes to go ,certainly
  8. I still fantasise a shot from the boundary in the last minute that buries either the Cats or the Pies( I don't care which). I just can't think who might be able to do it..
  9. BT ? At least it would get him off the TV and he's clearly an expert. I have heard him say so
  10. TMac won't get back but speaking of Hawkins, who is my second least favourite player after Gaz jnr and both the Libbas( tied) , watching him him run the length of the ground to lecture the backs on structure made me wish we had a similar forward who would go to the mids in the centre and let them know what was expected of them bringing the ball inside 50 Neither Fritta nor Raggity Anne have the gravitas even though one of them pretty starts his run up from the centre circle when kicking for goal
  11. If the nerd was playing for us he'd be a hero and a star of the future...like Dogga...oops wait a minute .
  12. 20 km run? Are you Langers in disguise? The rider on my comments was that " can win on any day" now becomes " have to win on every day" unless they get the double chance which means they can drop one game
  13. Yeah while I don't agree ,I am not disputing that they are good enough to win any game on any day. But they haven't won the clutch games and every game from here on in is one of those. It is not convincing ,to me at least, to say percentage (as a result of early season defence abilities ) and a 2 point buffer because Freo had a draw( ps Freo is the only one I don't think can beat us unless Dogga "tanks") gives us a advantage over the other contenders. Nor that the Cats fold in finals...they are genuine favourites imo but interesting graphic btw Here's hoping....( smile)
  14. ...." left field..." ah I was being sarcastic. Goody seems habitually change/ risk adverse. Thanks for the clarification re " loading ". Do you think maybe that the top ten side ( at least) may also have been doing something similar? Which I think rather negates it as an explanation of the win/loss record post round 10. Too much David King stats on here, not enough looking at patterns over the season. Close games results, surrendering leads, kicking accuracy ,defence measured by points against.Injuries to key players. List depth as shown by new inclusions rather than same old same old. Observations of plans A and B instituted pre and during game according to circumstances and opposition That seems relevant and observable to me. They could win it on Grand Final day if they get there biu I doubt they will. A Prelim would be an achievement from here
  15. Ah ,so you have it on good authority, rather than the desperation of imagination, that we " loaded" for 10 rounds . What's more though we look like missing out on the double chance we are so confident that we are still tapering off. Don't want to give Goodys famous left field coaching moves away just yet eh? What I will give you about Friday ( the last game is relevant at this time of year) is that Petty played his worst game of his banged up year and was possibly the difference between winning and losing. Good on you.
  16. You reckon Friday night might get them angry when all the other losses didn't? OK..its a "possible" world I guess. Yes after Geelong MFC rates with the best. Get to the last game and they are good enough to win it. Do you still really believe they are going to string that many good games on a row given they haven't played 3 consecutive championship games all season? Getting to the Prelim will be a victory of sorts. Getting a big forward " general" would give them a shot at 3 flags in 4 years . Plan B would help as well
  17. I am not angry just amazed at what is put up here as " analysis ". Thats what is of limited use unless you are actually getting insight to take back to Goody
  18. This place is starting to sound like a Republican convention after the election. We won the inside 50's but the goal umpires changed the score. Anyway we were loading...there should be a 5 goal allowance on the score card.
  19. And the 4 points and 2nd on the ladder That's chill' ing enough
  20. They lost because Collingwood kicked a higher score...no ifs or buts What game were you watching ?
  21. Clutching at Straws.. last year the Premiers won last quarters as well as first quarters. Everyone would have been on edge at e 3/4 time This year they know its not over and they can catch us. BIG difference
  22. Ok I will accept your last paragraph. I guess plan D is JVR and it seems likely that the coach has held off on that one about a month too long. May as well stick with getting him ready next season . I think Tom is borderline for next season and BBB as well
  23. Apart from" shoot outs" what do you think are plans B and C? And are you saying they have been pacing themselves? I thought it was just loading. Geez
  24. Maybe there is a plan B ..have a high paced shootout!
