Ha. Ha. You bump a thread with some flippant remark and call it satire. Not funny.

Who is gone? This is the Kozzie thread...

Updated for: the departures of Jackson, Bedford, Hunt, Rosman and M. Brown. Tomlinson shown OOC at end of 2024 was end of 2023. Still uncertain. Chandler's promotion altho it won't be official until draft night. Have assumed draft pick #86 will be used for that. List size information has been updated. Draft pick status for 2022/2023 has been added to the table. Players still OOC are: Baker, Hibberd and Melksham altho the latter two appear certain to be offered one year contracts.

So his trade to GWS pick 44 has been dealt to Freo as part of the Jackson trade. Did we get anything else from GWS? Disappointing if we didn't as Lamb was fairly strong when he rejected 44 last week.

Hope Essendon improves 🙂 And 2 reasons to 'death ride' Freo🙃

Even with Fyfe in, imv they can cover the loss/replacement of some of the players I mentioned but losing 4 of your best 22 and 6 of your best 25 is quite a lot of assimilation to do. Not the least of which is Jackson's role and synergy in the midfield/ruck.
-
Thank you. I doubt their will be a 'demise' per se. Just that success isn't always linear and they will need to educate/assimilate quite a few new players in their game plan, rolls, ball movement etc so it most likely a slide for just a year. They have great midfield guns and Mundy's experience was huge in the mid-field. Fyfe is injured more often than not so not sure who will be the mature steadying force in the midfield for them. It was interesting that they were on a long winning streak and then when Fyfe came in they started to lose. While there were other reasons I think he upset a winning formula and they never quite found a home for him. Lack of maturity in the team to adjust? Just not sure they are mature enough or settled enough to absorb the changes to their best 22/25. Time will tell

3rd dot point in my post said similar.

To elaborate on why I think Freo won't make the 8 next year: Their major list changes: Out: Logue: 20 games in 2022 Tucker: 14 games in 2022 Acres: 20 games in 2022 Mundy: 22 games in 2022 Lobb (probably): 21 games in 2022 Meek (probably): 8 games in 2022 In: Jackson: 22 games in 2022 Corbett: 4 games in 2022 Sharp (probably): 12 games in 2022 They may have others coming in but they are unlikely to overcome my doubts: They are losing a lot of experience from their best year in eons and not a lot of experience back in. It will take them a while to assimilate new players and fill the gaps by those going out. Synergy and consistency are big factors in winning games and I reckon it will take them a long time to get that next year and to settle in new players. By which time their chances of the 8 may have slipped. I expect Port and Carlton to make the 8 next year and I see Freo and Bulldogs as the most vulnerable to fall out. They will have a harder draw. So I'm happy to take Freo's future pics.

We are very well placed to finish top two. If Adelaide beat Brisbane next week it could even be top of the ladder. Huge advantage to give us a double chance, Home finals and potentially a Home GF. State of play: Comments: The best feature of our last few weeks is that we have played for 4 quarters. Keep that up and we should win the last 3 games with chances to lift our % further. Our big win yesterday cost the Bulldogs dearly. They fell out of the 8 and lost nearly 30%. But they have very winnable final three games. Big 8 point game coming up for Lions and Crows. A close game will knock both % back a bit. I reckon the top 4 are set. Those from 5-9 are making up the numbers, especially Geelong and Richmond who have played very few of the top 4.

If my hunch that Freo won't make the top 8 next year is correct, there may not be a lot of difference between NM F2 and Freo F2.
-
With Hunt and Weideman going I wondered who the top of the list whipping boy would be. Reading the first few pages of this thread we have the answer!
-
If a club trades its F1 it must hold a pick in all other future rounds but it doesn't matter whose they are. If it trades in an F1 to replace its own it can trade out of F2, F3, F4 etc. entirely.

I see what you mean. Another world. Nice landscapes.

And I thought I was in trouble!

Not intended. Just don't remember going there or seeing signposts in my travels.

Where is Romsey?

I would love to know what you edited...🙃

Hate to tell you this but Cranbourne is close to the worst suburb on the east/south/south east of Melbourne. Where on earth do you live that Cranbourne looks 'good'? I know it is 'west' but...

Great football. Good % boost.

We may not have much choice. fwiw I think Freo will not make the 8 next year so their F! could well be a top 10 pick. If we get their F1 I hope we keep it.
-
My heart sank when I saw that... Have they dropped their offer or are you referring to the one in this later post? I would settle for that and give them our F2 and or F3 back since we typically don't take picks >40 to the draft.

He will want to go to Geelong!

Clue, please?
