What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
Update from bf 'Match Preview' thread: Still condescending but not so nasty as earlier in the week. Thankfully they have stopped the horrible comments about Oliver's appearance (which I didn't include in the op) but Fritsch gets a bit of 'attention' albeit good naturedly. The Pies are gonna be decisive...We'll move forward without fear. We'll take things on and being decisive is crucial. Pies by 9 points! Pies to win a clutch kind of finish of the game and win it by 7 points. With all the s**t people are talking about Grundy this week, you just know heās going to have a career best game against us⦠I like Petracca and Oliver. I donāt like Fritsch. Vanity and footballers donāt sit well together, especially when thereās this thing called āMaynardā who has no regard for carefully coiffed hair. Fritsch will be very nervous. Fritsch doesn't have a garage or a wine cellar but here's a peek at his version of a man cave (Image of a barber's shop follows) Not enough mirrors. Bruzzy is due for a real Bruzzy like performance this week...Fritsch, your number is up, champ. Then thereās the Pieās momentum, which is also scary. Iām starting to feel sorry for our opposition. I'm not convinced Melbourne are a top 4 side. We will drop games, but it won't be this one. He was never returning off the back of the hammy, let alone the 'blister' incident. Crispy to sit on Trac all day now. This will be a good test for when we play the real contenders. In response to āCollingwoodā chant at our training: If thats true then we are deep in their heads. This is Leading Teams/Collective Mind psychobabble stuff, not football.his is some Richmond theme song on a bus type s**t. Wow. They might give our chant a go in their 3/4 time huddle haha theyāre scared They're training to win junk time, after we've won the game. Arteta did this for Arsenal training last year before playing Liverpool at Anfield, and it backfired terribly This is the opposite of winning mentality. Good way to put our psychological juju even more in their heads before the game. Collective Mind and Arsenal springs into mind Grundy might have it as his ring tone. Maybe they should concentrate more on our players instead of us supporters. This is like the richmond theme song water board torture. Surely it isn't true. On their illnesses: Covid still going through the club apparently, will be interesting to see who trains tomorrow⦠I heard it before Howe went on and said he had covid on tv. Apparently a few still have it. Wait and see tomorrow for training I guess. Channel 7 said Cox had suspected Covid and Josh and someone else have a cold. Iāve heard thereās more but will see tomorrow I guess. Hopefully just precautions and they are fit. Concern is always playing flat after being sick Surely players can play with COVID if they have little to no symptoms? Finally some humour: I wonder if Ed Langdon and the Melbourne cohort still think weāre all duck and no dinner. Let's show them who we are, and that's one trick ponies. Hope Fritsch puts on a 2021 GF like performance! In my op I thought Dees in a heart stopping 9pt victory. If the illness rumours are true I reckon it will be a comfortable 3 - 4 goal win!! But I do wish Goodwin had not mentioned Grundy now being at a club that valued him - just fodder to fire them up ala Langdon's comment last year.

I bet Maynard goes for JvR really early. Hope Smith and Max are nearby to help. Someone will go for McVee altho he will have May and Salem to protect him. I daresay Cox will also make a beeline for Grundy. A knee to the rib cage perhaps - seems the go for a few CB ruckman these days. Hope that after the Langdon incident last year our players are alert to these tactics to unsettle our young players.

Love the video but not on a train please: Next day's headline: Dees fan Murdered by angry Pies!!

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
In the 2021 GF Salem, May and Viney legally dropped Weightman, Hannan and McCrae in the first few minutes with ferocious tackles. The Bulldogs weren't ready. None of them had any impact. They are our 3 hard nuts and looking for them to do the same to the Pies early, especially May to Cox. Their players will remonstrate but hey lets ruffle a few black and white feathers!

Kings Birthday Sold Out
I have two Redleg seats that will be empty as will be sitting in the Guest area. They are in front of the Lindsay Hassett room so there shouldn't be too many pies fans. If you would like a number just PM.

Targets 2023
Not related to mfc target. Geelong is doing it again: cats-pitch-to-targets-tom-de-koning-darcy-parish "The Herald Sun reports the Cats will continue to make their āsell the dreamā pitch of the Geelong lifestyle to prospective free agents and trade targets like Tom De Koning and Darcy Parish and hone in on former Geelong Falcons in a bid to land marquee talent. Itās included Geelong securing targets on cheaper deals by selling the culture and on and off-field advantages." Those off-field advantages can't all be 'lifestyle' and they are smart enough to not have any money trail for them. The AFL should benchmark their player packages against equivalent AFL players and ask Geelong to explain the differences. And interview the players as to why they accept unders. There must now be at least a dozen Cat's on the 'lifestyle' gravy train. But we know the AFL will do nothing.

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Giants are reportedly making a play for Pick 1. They are the best placed with their own and Richmond's first round picks, currently # 4 and #6. Throw in Cogniglio, a WA recruit which would also help GWS's sal cap. With Freo rising, the Academy and FA players pushing first round picks down the order none of our 2 1sts plus F1 picks are likely to be in the top 10 I would like us to get Zane Duursma!!

MBJMcV!
I love the way he just glides across the MCG surface. Different gait but similarly light footed as TJ.

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
One bf poster acknowledged this: Not to mention they have beaten us in 6 GF's out of 7 we have played!š” It was in response to this comment: Up there in my top three most despised clubs predominately due to their supporters! Hopefully, we make that 7 from 8 GF wins, this year They will have two lots of Demons to overcome: physical: our beloved team and mental: their history of GF 'colliwobbles'!!
-
What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
The only posts on bf that even hinted at a loss but I didn't include in the first post: Lot of over confidence in here! I'm confident too but I'm worried this place has forgotten how to deal with a loss š This place couldn't deal with a loss even when we were losing a bit more regularly. How sweet a dee's win would be; their meltdown would be a joy to behold!! I would take great pleasure in updating this thread after the game!!
-
What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
But they have to live with the 'colliwobbles' moniker for all the GF's they have lost - one as recently as 2018. A much greater burden than MFCSS!!

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
Let's not hold back!! LOL - Those are much stronger words than any I have read on an opp bf!! Thanks for the laughs!𤣠I wish their fans had a 'what they are saying ...' thread. Would love them to read this!! I know some ok Pie's fans...

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
As does Maynard. There were reports to day that he is ill and other players have been unwell this week.

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
They did to some extent across 15 pages of bf!!. I left them out as they were boring and were firmly convinced the ins would get the job done. I don't think they will!. Lipinski for one is yet to play a game this year and will be underdone. If people want to read all the bs: changes-pre-match-discussion-round-13-vs-melbourne

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
They have been winning but their recent performances have been fairly ordinary vs bottom of the ladder sides: Sydney, Giants, Carlton, North and Eagles. At least we have had some good testing games vs Suns, Port, Freo and Carlton. They get a lot of drive from Sidebottom and DeGoey and while they have good depth it will be difficult to cover both. They also have to integrate a range of players from recent injuries, managing and suspension. We are a lot more settled.

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
They can claim all the outs they want. The reality is that in the last QB we were missing May, had an underdone Salem, Turner went off in the first qtr, Petty went off but played out the game under duress and Max was victim to a Cox running leap with knee in the back. Played out the game but never fully recovered from the back injury. All that after they gang tackled and mauled Langdon. Nonetheless, we were in that game right until 3/4 time. In the round 21 game half our team were carrying injuries so an easy kill for them. Nothing to really brag about. They can crow and rant all they like about their 'outs' - karma for last year. On Monday, a 2021 PF revenge like performance vs Geelong would be very nice

Totally lacking in humour on bf. Most clubs offer something to giggle about!!

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
Had to wade through 20 pages on bf which was mainly bs about Collingwood, their changes and how to stop DeGoey going overseas and getting into more strife. Have omitted all that rubbish. Anyone would think they didnāt have a game coming up. Iāve left out all the unsavoury comments about Oliver. Carlton arenāt a great overlap side. They kept kicking straight to melbs zone defence. I think we are much better at providing run and overlap, and can exploit the dees using this Coxzilla to put on a clinic in a massive game at the G. Loves the big occasion in front of the parents at the G does big Coxy! So... Did Viney get looked at by the MRP or nah? The key as always v Melbourne is to keep May and Lever busy and avoid kicking down the line to them The Dees forward line is completely dysfunctional. Our defensive system should make a mess of them. This is a danger game for us, if Melbourne bring their best. The game before the mid season is always a challenge - feels like this looms as a danger game for me with players thinking about the week off. I'm sure Fly and the coaches will manage expectations within the playing group but some real challenges around selection this week Itās a bit unsettling as the past few years weāve been the underdogs against this lot but this time weāll be clear favs. They couldnt have been less impressive friday night but Iāve already seen in the media itās their āmid year GFā. Seriously can these minnow clubs give us a rest from their manufactured pump up games I think it was clear we werenāt running on all cylinders the past 2 weeks whether that was intentional or not. Time to get the āAll duck and no dinnerā anger back out again Would be nice to make it harder for them to make top 4 as well, if we are top 2, the more interstate sides that finish top 4 the better I donāt think weāll select a side to match Melbournes forwardline. More likely weāll select our best back 7 and force Melbourne to adapt to that. If they go in undersized theyāll struggle with any long ball in the fifty. Gawn, Oliver & Petracca had the ball on a string last time we played them, and we still beat them. Not too worried about this game, Melbourne are our bunnies Be afraid everyone, Grundy has asked for the first bounce Woohoo! First clearance to the Magpies Might forget who he plays for and tap it straight to Pendles Irrespective of the Ins and Outs this week, based on recent form and Melbourne's woeful performance last week, we should easily account for the Demons. Yeah, I watched bits of that game and both sides were garbage. Melbourne were only slightly better than Carlton. Melbourne will be all huff and puff for the first 10 minutes and then we'll just smash them Pies to once again, make Lever and May redundant as we always do. Miochek to kick 4. Pies by 17. Lippa is a good in, but let's not build him up to be Chris Judd. Have no idea on the ins, only thing I know definitely is that I can't wait to beat Melbourne. Up there in my top three most despised clubs predominately due to their supporters! My Favourite, sort of: I tipped Melbourne by 20pts in my Tipping This has been the most ungracious lot of opp comments I have come across since Essendon. Not one ounce of respect. Anyone would think they are the recent premiers! I so desperately want us to beat them. Wipe the smile off their sneering faces. Importantly we need to break the string of losses vs them before we meet them in the finals. Get a bit of the psychological edge back. Reckon, we have this!! Dees by a heart-stopping 9 points!!

That is cruel...I take it you aren't fond of animals...

The Run Home
This looks trickier than your brainteasers, Mr D! What am I missing about the red dot (when not in an art gallery)??
-
The Run Home
Thank you. Excellent!! Hadn't heard of him before. I can 100% identify with what he says. I guess being a 'visual learner' makes it easier for me to see the info in data and relationships between different sets of info. Excel and other tools help present it in more digestible formats. But I didn't hear him speak of the 'red dot'. A 'red dot' for me is when a piece of art in an exhibition is sold....
-
The Run Home
Not directly nor even indirectly related but this comment reminds me of one of my pet hates of how poor the typical AFL sports writer is at presenting info. Sometimes, it is necessary to scroll through reams of data when they could put it into a table and it be so much more easily understood. eg Fox footy have 15 tipsters fox-footy-afl-tipping-for-round-11-2023-expert-tips and there are about 10 pages on a laptop to scroll through. Many many more on a mobile device. How much more meaningful would this be: And that is without making it 'pretty'. It isn't just Fox - all mainstream AFL outlets do a very poor job converting data to information in easily digestible formats.

Love you too, Layzie ā¤ļøš. A simple Excel table earns me such undeserved flattery, albeit in jest!. But I'll take it.š
