  1. Agree 100% Other than a handful of posters like you, it is starting to feel like a lynch mob around here;: no facts, no evidence just innuendo and speculation. And forget about 'innocent till proven guilty'. The issues seem to be that he hasn't: refuted the rumour he wants out ipsofacto it must be true. Perhaps he and the club have agreed it is best if he doesn't say anything. Let's face it, if he did there is a fair chance it would be misconstrued to feed a narrative. shown leadership. Maybe wanting to change the club for the better he is showing leadership. shown loyalty to the club because the rumour became public. Maybe he isn't responsible for the leak. gone to the GC. As you suggest his immune system may not be up to it. He may have had a health relapse recently. He may not want to be confronted by media putting a microphone in his face at the airport, the ground thus looking after his emotional health etc. put out or react to social media about the win yesterday. Maybe he sent a msg to the team on an intra club chat group and liked those posted by teammates/the club on that private network. It is true I'm making assumptions. Assumptions that are equally if not more plausible than the behaviours people are condemning him for. The important thing is he and Pert are talking so it isn't that he has no contact with the club/teammates. imv that is all we need to know at this stage.
  2. Damn shame Brisb lost. It let Geel finish in the top 4 and have the double chance. Poor game by the Cats today but they are always a fearsome team and could easily take out the premiership which imv would be a terrible end to the season.
  3. To paraphrase a famous line from the movie Casablanca: 'Sing it again, Alex', next week!
  4. Very good coaching today. Matty Rowell has had a very good year and was BOG last week with 10 coaches votes. Had a few touches today but little impact. I think it was mainly ANB who was on him. Shut down the engine room and control the game! Good to see some experimenting: Fritsch up field a bit, McVee in the middle, etc Talking of Fritsch absolutely loved his loping run, 4 bounces before dropping a pearler in Disco's arms who goaled. And did I note how much I loved Juddy's goal! Also, kudos to Goodwin for letting the players just play with freedom and attacking game. They loved it!! And so did we!!!
  5. And how good was the goal from my boy Juddy! Bettered only by his celebration!! Will need to find a pic of that celebration and make it my new avatar!
  6. Huge, huge win on so many levels. No telling the optimism it will feed to fans, sponsors, players for 2025 Bring that determination and fierceness next week and win, lose or draw, it will be an excellent end to a non-finals season As a bonus how good if we can smash the pies next week!
  7. Alex was massive in the midield the further the game went on. Fabulous that he got his wish to sing the song 🎶 🤞 there is a repeat next week!
  8. WOW!!! Really!!! In recent years he has played while ill, with a broken leg, infected thumb and now with a shattered spleen. Doesn't strike me as someone who will spit the dummy over the role he plays. Other roles eg ANB/Spargo/? are designed so he can be released from the mid-field and go forward. Haven't seen any hint that he is unhappy with that.
  9. You completely misinterpreted what I said. I made no such implication let alone suggestion.
  10. Whatever 'no dh policy' we had imv was blown up when we recruited Hunter. What was publicly known should have been enough to not go anywhere near him. Slippery slope!
  11. So it seems. We aren't running a nursery for sooky players. If they want a premiership medal they need to know what it takes on and off the field. And who better to learn that from than our NSM. And why are such players blabbing to someone(s) who are going to tell the media. Naive and disloyal of them. I would be extremely disappointed if Christian didn't have the support or our leadership team and coaches in trying to lift professional standards. They need to fly the flag with him.
  12. Thanks for the summary. My reaction to point 2 is Anger which is a very rare emotion for me. Numerous times over the years he has played ill or injured eg 2022 finals with a broken leg This year he nearly died playing injured. He and Max have carried the club on their shoulders all year. And, the club approved his trip to Noosa. Not sure how long the Noosa trip was ... my impression was some days rather than weeks. The benefits to his health and recovery are immeasurable particularly getting away from our freezing weather. Also, the benefits of getting some clear 'head space' away from the footy fish bowl would be significant. Only one or two players has stepped up in his absence to support Max. Where were the rest ... feeling self pity! As a leader he is entitled to be frustrated with players who are not upholding professional standards and he should be supported in that by our other leaders. Assuming they do why aren't players frustrated at Gawn, Viney, Lever etc. Is Christian our only leader!!! Why weren't our other leaders quelling the frustration while Christian was away. Are our players going soft to be upset about a senior dedicated palyer being frustrated at them!! Are they frustrated at May who shows his on the field frequently. If point 2 is correct it seems extremely selfish and a poor reflection of those player's own standards. Lets hope none of them have to ever go through what Christian has. And I only hope they show as much dedication to the red and blue as he has. End rant!!
  13. That trade is close to what I was thinking IF it were to happen ,,, maybe add a player. Similar type of players traded were: Judd: He and a 3rd round pick for Carlton's pick 3, 20 and Josh Kennedy. In those days picks weren't diluted with Academy players and Judd had a few more honours. Dangerfield: Pick 9. 28 and Gore. Dangerfield went on to achieve a few more honours. They were both in their mid 20's Fans may not like such a trade but they are reasonable comparisons especially as Christian is that much older and the ? over his return from injury. Hopefully, it is all hypothetical and he stays.
  14. All the more reason why it seems odd Max hadn't talked with Christian between Saturday's game and yesterday.
  15. All the more reason for Max's comment about not contacting Christian seem odd ...
  16. If that is the case I stand corrected. I thought the commentator said at the back of a bay but may have misheard.
  17. Anyone know when Petracca was in Noosa? When asked about Petracca, Max said something like: 'He has a 5 year contract and had been in Noosa and he plans to speak with Petracca soon'. Petracca was at the game on Saturday night. The news broke on Monday. Max was interviewed yesterday but seemingly there was no time for our captain to phone/text ... I'm getting the impression there isn't much engagement happening between the club and Christian ...
  18. Agreed. I thought the statement was dismissive and somewhat disrespectful of Trac. Focusing on a locked in contract is hardly the way to embrace someone. There appears to have been little engagement between Trac and the club since KB other than a short appearance at the captain's run a week or two ago.. The image of him sitting anonymously on his own at the back of a bay rather than the coaches box last Saturday does little to allay my concerns. He is part of the Connor's stable and Connor's gets his players to where they want to be. If not this year then next if things aren't sorted.
  19. I exercised considerable restraint to leave them out😁 Didn't want to trigger DL's censor 🤷‍♀️
  20. Which one for you?
  21. It is possible to be a passionate supporter of a club or person 'thru thick and thin', and be concerned about their behaviour/decisions. And it is ok to voice that respectfully and considerately. Appropriately voicing any concerns is not being disloyal or 'picking and choosing'; it means you care.
  22. Dear God, I hope it doesn't end the same way. fwiw, I don't think it will. My concern is the impact this has on other players and the media feast fest re their self-serving narrative of the club's culture.
  23. If his selection is gratuitous as Lyon implied maybe he should have been sent in for surgery some time ago. It can't be good for Clarrie's mental health with the bashing he gets in the media nor his physical health if is the hand is a mess. My point was more related to the impact on players if Oliver's selection isn't the best for the team albeit in Oliver's best interests.
  24. On OTC last night Lyon said Oliver's hand is a mess. He is being played because it is good for him or words to that effect. He has said similar in past episodes. It might be in Oliver's best interests but is that in the best interests of the team, of a winning culture, of the club? This isn't directly related to Christian but I can understand if players are frustrated by Oliver's selection. And I also wonder how good it is for Oliver given the bashing he gets in the media. Before people jump on Garry, he is close to the club and Oliver and there is no reason to think he would misrepresent something so important.
  25. Garry Lyon was asked on OTC if he was alarmed by the rumour (which is all it is). He very firmly said he wasn't and won't be until he looks Christian in the eye and hears it directly from him. We can all take a leaf out of Garry's book. Morris is just a repugnant, self promoting slime🤮.
