  1. Separated out the bf dialogue about Brown: I’ll be booing that money hungry curly haired pasty vegan Let’s get a steak sponsor and put the image on the ball - he won’t go near it Shouldn't be too hard, we have plenty of butchers You know your footy team is f’ed when comments like the above and others make you laugh at the actual reality of it all Nah fu** that ungrateful attitude. Brown is an absolute legend and quality KPF who our incredibly incompetent list management team threw away for peanuts. Ungrateful? Only one person in all this scenario was ungrateful. Ben isn’t a legend. Was happy for him to get a medal. Great bloke, great player. Good for you…I was furious. He can choke on his medal. When things got tough at the club he tried to hold us over a barrel for money. The worst part is we accepted unders for him. I hope Ben gets some genuine feedback on his behaviour in 2020, it might be the only thing we can get out of the game. He knew when to jump ship. Good on him. JHF will be next. Who wants to play for a basket case team. Brown turned us down to try and use us for leverage he didn’t have. We offered to make him about the most highly paid player on our list and he said ahhh nah. Then went and got paid $150k less a year elsewhere. My favourite: Shouldn't be too hard, we have plenty of butchers You know your footy team is f’ed when comments like the above and others make you laugh at the actual reality of it all Gave me a good laugh!
  2. From Bigfooty: More doom and gloom. Doesn’t matter. They will kick a cricket score against us next week. Could 186 be under threat? 160 points. Brown will kick 10 They are at least on a 6 day break coming back from Perth. Hopefully they can take it easy on us. Forfeit the round and send the boys on the Kokoda Trail. Lets get everyone on the page, then give them an ounce of coke and 15 boxes of booze. Go! Unless they go easy on us, our infamous Fitzroy defeat of '83 is in danger and BBB will beat his 10 goal haul. If they bring their A game this will be a 150 point margin. I think they'll ease off tho. No point going harder than you need to be. Will be satisfied with anything under 70 points Genuine question - what would people prefer:- total 18 player flood defence leads to final score where we lose 80-13 or play the more traditional structure and lose 166 - 52? The only way our forward structure will score 52 against Melbourne's defensive structure is if they take half a dozen blokes off the ground in pity. But to answer your question, I'd take trying to play proper footy and losing 52-166 any day over not even trying to score for a whole match and still getting thrashed. I literally can't name one player from our team yesterday who would be regularly getting a game for them. If they are at all serious they win by 100. If they put the foot down then it will get very very ugly. Can we just forfeit? Please? Hopefully the D’s just go through the motions and get a routine 80 point win, no injuries, fanfare etc just like we used to for 10 years. Lets pray they’re not in the mood for one of those ‘we owe these campaigners‘ a bloodbath type slaughter fest wins My favourite: If we forfeit the round it will actually increase our percentage!!!! Perfect week for the godees to rest …The whole side I reckon we can beat WC score. We have been living rent free in opp fans heads. I would say the same can be said for opp players and coaches. Not many would fancy their chances against us.
  3. Thanks. I thought it could be temporary. Still, its a good metaphor for where the club and its fans are at🙃.
  4. The MRO will get him on 'potential to cause damage' rule which they invoke when it suits them. Meanwhile the Tom Lynch raised elbow to the head of the Hawks player was judged to 'not be unreasonable!! Ignored the potential for damage rule!! Lynch - premiership player Chandler - a kid starting out. No guessing who will be the sacrificial lamb. Chandler may get a week but if the MRO was consistent so should Lynch, who has a heap of priors.
  5. Checked the Eagles Flying High site look for their game thread. Historically the site has had very little activity but didn't expect this: It could be temporary but with only 27,000+ fans at the game, many of whom were dees fans, the eagles fans seem to have closed up shop. Like their team, no grit and fair weather sailors!
  6. No MFCSS here! Yes, that 2014 Ess game was a nightmare but this isn't that team. It was light years away from where we are now. The whole WCE club has thrown in the towel: They are officially using the 'R' word chairman-s-message Dees by 6-8 goals.
  7. Barely touched the ball. Just seemed to strut around. Parker took the mickey out of him with a shoulder shrug jig after kicking a goal after Sheil fumbled the ball. The jig suggesting Shiel is frightened to go in hard for the ball. Video of the sledge here: -luke-parker-sledge-to-dylan-shiel Quite funny!
  8. Nope, its based on how many of their 2020 GF team still there and with the exception of Riewoldt and Cotchin in good form. Riewoldt can still turn in a high scoring game. They have unreal finals experience and belief. They know how to turn it on in the finals even if they haven't had the best H & A season. Not saying they will but even if they aren't top 4 they are the most likely to give the finals a good shake outside the top 3. And on their day they can roll any of the top 3.
  9. It is highly likely top 3 will be Demons, Dockers, Lions. 4th spot is up for grabs for one of Blues, Cats, Saints, Swans or Tigers to do a 'Bradbury'. The threat is the Tigers, having comfortably won every game since Dusty returned; admittedly those games were vs Eagles, Pies and Hawks. If Tigers get on a roll they can roll any of the top 8 teams. Hopefully they don't finish 4th and will have a harder finals run. For us, finish top 2 and win the first final and all our finals will be at the G. Lose the first final and we will most likely play an 'Away' Prelim, if we make it. An interesting aspect is whether Dockers, Blues, and maybe the Saints suffer 'finals nerves'. The further they go the more stressful it will become.
  10. I thought Khamis was appealing for an ITB free (which looked like it was there) not dissent per se.
  11. The rest of the season: Port have as good a chance as Bulldogs if they beat North today and get a decent % boost. But for mine, the Tigers have it sown up.
  12. That was because McGowan locked out the east coast club, AFL, MCC members and sponsors. GF public tickets don't happen at the G.
  13. You misunderstood my post. "scrambling at the same designated time" meant at the time Ticketek make tickets available for each group. ie Members will be scrambling for tickets at the same time as other members. Non-members will be scrambling for tickets at the same time as other non-members, for the first 3 weeks of finals. That is the way it is for all ticket sales even H & A: Tickets for members are available before ticket sales for non-members. I fully understand how GFG and ticket sales work! For the club ticket allocation, there is no ballot for GF tickets. If there are any GF tickets left after the GFG (Priority 1) allocation they are available for Priority 2, then Priority 3 etc members until the allocation is exhausted. Whatever priority GF a member is, they still have to 'scramble' via Ticketek to buy the tickets with other members in that priority group.
  14. It is a worthy idea by dfa but there is no way to track how many games non-members attend, short of Ticketek collecting the team someone barracks for which isn't going to happen. Members and non-members alike will go thru the same chaos with Ticketek as 2018 finals all scrambling for tickets at the same designated time.
  15. Other than the GF for other finals at the G just about any member that wants to go will get a ticket. We won't be playing finals at Marvel. In 2018 we were allowed two tickets per member vs Hawks and Geel, even for 3 game members. This year getting two tickets per member is unlikely if we play Ess, Coll, Rich or Carl, otherwise it is hard to see members not getting a ticket. GF is automatically rationed by the GFG.
  16. Was that from a reliable report? IF Gus wants more midfield time he won't get it at Carlton with Cripps, Cerra, Walsh etc settled there. Wishful thinking by Carlton.
  17. Still no thread on their Flying High website. WCE fan disinterest meter rising? A few more gems from Bigfooty: lol Melbourne had a genuine chance to rest some sore players but will fly the whole team out... ... As if they won’t be getting a rest on Sunday ... Running scared they are. Worried about our 'keeping it close to the chest' surprise selection policy they are. Think we might beat them they do. At least we'll keep the time honoured tradition alive of getting pumped on a players milestone game. Genuinely surprised they intend to risk Gawn against us. They rate Jamo highly I see. Unfortunately we have been spoiled as supporters of west coast. Other teams have been down for decades and when we are down for a few years we are up in arms. It says a lot about us as supporters and a lot of us are fair weather in our attitude.
  18. Will any Eagles fans be at the game!! From Bigfooty:
  19. This intrigued me and thought maybe Bailey has been living off his GF which was outstanding. In looking at his numbers he has kicked a goal in every game and is averaging: 2 goals, 0.9 points and 0.9 GA. The GA's count for a lot given that they are usually close to goal via a player in a better position. For a relatively low scoring club Bailey's numbers look reasonable. But he does look quite relaxed at times giving me the incorrect impression he may not be working as hard as he could be. Had i known we were going to play 'shut the game down' final quarters I wouldn't have tipped him for the Coleman. Will know better next year!
  20. In Goodwin's press conf this morning it sounded like no changes.
  21. @george_on_the_outer @Demonland Time for a Thread Title change for 2022, perhaps?
  22. I'm for the second option! Their fans have been merciless to visiting teams so not sure I can afford them to much sympathy or for very long. I mean they had to support us or Geelong (PF) or the Bulldogs (GF) so no choice but to support the Dees. This is the team that reportedly included the words "Demons are sh-t" when they sang their song after beating us in 2019 rubbing in the 2018 PF demolishing. I would like revenge at the scene of the crime in a similar way we avenged 186 at Kardinia Park in round 23 and the PF.
  23. Still nearly 3 months to go to the cut off date. Plenty of time to break that record again.
  24. Not surprising. The reported Kelly, Corniglio, Green and Whitfield contracts are huge. Not just $ but also the length of, meaning they will drain the sal cap for many years to come until those guys are well into their 30's. The newer talent would wonder what is left for them to share in in the next 5 years. And the 'eye test' would support the view that those guys are not performing to the level of their contract $. From the outside those guys seem to have formed a little clique. Again from the outside, Cameron does not seem to have succeeded in developing a 'selfless' culture.
