  1. So much for Geelong's new 'territory' game plan. Geelong aren't coping with pressure. They look stuck between their old game 'control' game plan and their new one.
  2. Thanks. I'm ok with reserved seat barcode. I'm asking about Ticketek barcodes as I would like to buy tickets for the ANZAC Eve game. Am hoping we can buy tickets when they are released to clubs rather than a day later when released to the public.
  3. Yes. WA teams are exposed as 'close contacts' every time a player gets covid.
  4. Thanks. Found that email. I didn't get the barcode info. I guess being a 'Redlegs' member I already have a reserved seat. Was the barcode the same as per our membership card last year? Cheers.
  5. WA has a very narrow definition of a 'close contact': 15 minutes if both not wearing a mask. So most of the players probably don't have covid but are caught under that definition and have to isolate for 7 days. It can happen over and over again to WA teams.
  6. Paddy MCCartin's comeback is quite a story. the-unbelievable-return-that-no-one-saw-coming Really wish him well. He deserves some luck. His comeback is right up there with Doherty at Carlton. And with that of our Jesse H who is in line to play this week.
  7. I'll be interested to hear how it goes. pm's are fine. Ticket sales for Ess game are open but not sure if this applies to reserve seat upgrades. Worth a try.
  8. Thanks. I assume this was for the Ess game? Ticketek make it very confusing asking for a 'barcode' number 🤔
  9. When Carlton (or any other team) can consistently keep the opp to 60-70 points, which is the goal of our defence, then I will rate the team's defensive capability. Until they develop an 'all team defence' then I doubt their finals credentials. They might make the 8 and beat other low defence capable teams but will struggle vs a Sydney, Melbourne and probably Geelong. They need much more pressure from their fwds and mids to protect their d50 to keep the ops score down.
  10. Have continued this conversation in the 'Tickets' thread as more relevant there.
  11. Conversation from the 'Membership Tally' thread. @Deefiant Re membership barcode, you mentioned: It was emailed with the ticketing info for round 1. Would you mind giving the date and the title of this email as I have checked all my club emails and don't see a barcode no. I've checked the Mobile Membership App and my mfc account and can only find a Mbrshp #. @daisycutter Re this: i got a card (decoration only) but it has your membership number on it. don't need a barcode for ticketek, just your membership number. This is a screenshot from Ticketek and it asks for a barcode. I'm pretty sure that is what we had to provide for the 2018 finals tickets and last years GF tickets. There was a whole thread for GF barcodes. Maybe someone who has bought a reserve seat upgrade can clarify whether Ticketek require member # or barcode #.
  12. I say our 'playbook' because we do have the fitness, talent and skill. Others don't. So their 'territory' game styles aren't as effective. But our 'playbook' has nuances that imv other 'territory' teams don't, again probably because they don't have the talent etc. Richmond is a 'territory' team and they force the ball to ground, scrounge the pack, fight for the ground ball and 'scramble' the ball forward. I don't often see them move the ball with overlapping run and flair like we do or as much as we do. We attack the contest but do far less of the scrambling stuff. Geelong seemed to be trying to do more of our style than the Richmond style of 'territory'. But one week isn't a good sample size. No they can't sustain it all year. As I said, I don't think they have the talent to do it against good sides. And I reckon it takes more than one pre-season to ingrain the positioning into the players, to make it work.
  13. Thanks. That is reassuring to know. Do you have any idea the likelihood of dee fans getting a 'good' seat ie not level Q for the ANZAC Eve game. I believe we can only buy them when Public sales open up.
  14. The club told me we get a different barcode for each game. This makes it tricky for GA members to upgrade to a reserved seat each game as we don't get the barcode number until 72 hours before the game whereas ticket sales open about 3 weeks before the game and as I understand it Ticketek require a barcode number to upgrade to reserve seats. 🤔 So the 'best' seats may be gone by the time barcode numbers arrive.
  15. Yes, to have reserved seat memberships not linked to GFG. I'm pretty sure Richmond has them.
  16. The limited GFG's is the reason they can't allocate more reserved seat areas as you suggested a few posts back.
  17. It looks like the 'reserved seat' and 'reserved bay' options include the GFG and they have a limited number of GFG's they can issue.. So they need a category with a reserved seat but not a GFG. It may be too late to create this for 2022 but a good option for 2023.
  18. That is great value as 3-game memberships had similar member rights for finals tickets, except the GF, in 2018. If our finals are at the G they are almost guaranteed to get a ticket to those games. I'm almost tempted to sign up a few friends just in case I need extra finals tickets. Is the code simply 'Gus and Gawny'?
  19. I'm hoping Tigers keep losing so their are more seats available for us dees at the ANZAC Eve game.
  20. The Cats moving the ball quickly and moving from a 'control' to a 'territory/keep-the-ball-moving' game style is straight out of the demon playbook, courtesy of the IP their new development coach, Shannon Byrnes brought with him, which of course he allowed to do. Not sure they have the talent to pull it off consistently against good sides. Hopefully, we have developed a few new tricks over the season that will surprise them and others..
  21. I don't dislike Weightman. He didn't dive but he played for 3 of the 4 frees vs Ess. The first he dropped the ball, pushed up the op arm wrapping it around his own neck and nestled his head in opp shoulder: High. The second he virtually put himself in Draper's armpit: High. The third he leaned back on his opp who was on the ground and no where to go: Holding. The 4th was a mistake by the umpire. Those 4 goals gave the Bulldogs all the momentum at a time the game was level pegging. Ess would still have lost. The free vs Smith last week wasn't Weightman's doing, it was an umpire mistake. But he is getting a habit of 'positioning' himself for frees. Styled on Selwood.
  22. If it is Rivers, to get our usual overlap ball movement we would need one of the mids or small fwds to come up to the d50 which may upset our ball movement structures. But doable. I hear what you say about accurate kicking out of defence. I thought Brayshaw was pretty good last week in the Salem role and Bowey is pretty good by foot so we could afford to keep Rivers back and let Hunt play his natural role. Thankfully we have lots of options.
  23. Good question. Of those two, probably Rivers. From the little I've seen of Rankine he plays close to goal and we need Hunts run to clear the ball from defence and overlap through the midfield with Langdon.
  24. I think it does matter. Apologising to the public is one thing, apologising to the person is another. At least Tex apologised directly Walker who accepted the apology. It doesn't change the hurt but he did face him. Beveridge had the opportunity to apologise to Morris before his Statement press conf, before Morris's videos became public.
  25. I would say not based on this: "Asked if he’d since spoken to Morris, Beveridge said: “We’d rather leave it where it is, based on everything that’s happened to him. There’s nothing to be gained by pouring any petrol on what’s already happened.” Luke-beveridge-press-conference
