  1. Fix good tagging job last night
  2. Every coach does it after the game but damned if I know how it’s the most important thing for the coach to do at the end of the game. If he doesn’t know how played he should t be doing the job.
  3. Geelong was much taller . It seems 198cm forwards are common place now so I hope both Fullerton and Verall make it
  4. Yep. It’s a pretty good group.
  5. A problem with getting old is you see obvious things that need fixing from a lifetime of footy playing and watching. No one consults the old so I’m all for a new set of eyes. That person would likely say. Gawny, we are gonna get you some help on the ground and with leadership Windsor , you are gonna be a 10-15 year wingman for the Club. Learn your trade and we’ll give you all the help you need. Fritta, keep working hard, it might be closer than you think to all coming together Viney, you are a role player now. Forget the stat sheet except for tackling. McVee, Thorstup, Lindsay, Langford, Chandler, Windsor. We will teach you to be a mini leadership group if you are fully committed.
  6. Three seasons ago I introduced a South Sudanese boy to Aussie Rules. Oakleigh Footy Club were fantastic at helping him out and looking after him. Three Best and Fairests later he is playing in the Demons Under 16 NGA side this Thursday. Long long way to go and still to choose be Footy and Basketball but I’m very proud of him as he’s a terrific kid as well.
  7. Yes. We have to try and find a win situation out of a talented player. I think he could leap and punch like Frosty but be a better kick out of defence.
  8. I can go further back. Our own David Schwarz . Vividly remember a well known Melbourne supporter saying he was no good bc he couldn’t hold his marks.Curiously Chris Dawes was a beautiful mark as a junior.
  9. Thx, I share your thoughts but give Fullerton a go first.
  10. Where did Verrall play please. Is he a chance in a non ruck playing position.
  11. Windsor back was mental. Natural wingman.
  12. Ok, I’d give him some time forward
  13. Bowey, outmanned , out bodied when he wasn’t turning his back on the play coming in. You think turning your back on play would be tolerated at Hawthorn any time the past 60 years? At Melbourne it means nothing.
  14. In Lever Fullarton Mentha/ Sestan Lindsay Out Petty JVR Sharp Bowey
  15. Pretty much the way I expected it to go. Leaders had to Improve but their method was predictable Gawn should pushed for help- Campbell. Geelong are giants. Viney ball, attack Ball, kick ball anywhere Oliver did just enough to not be criticized too heavily Petracca -same, but more [censored] off. May can’t be faulted but not the leader without Lever alongside.
  16. Spot on, but Langford give him time Turner. Hope you wrong
  17. Any suspension Kossie gets this year makes me inclined to trade if a WA club comes looking.
  18. Yeah, but I think Melksham is a good favourite. I expect him to lead the forward line with his verbal messages. Hope he finds form too.
  19. That’s a very good comment. Also plays to what another coach’s view of his and the game plan he wants to play.
  20. I think Fritta will benefit as Melk finds form
  21. The club has always ignored his terrible disposal because he is so brave, passionate and an accumulator of disposals. The result is when he drops his disposal numbers he looks ordinary as he can’t rely on finding a man with the few disposals he gets. He has been poorly coached for much of his time at the Club.
  22. Sounds right. Get fit, push yourself to next contest.
  23. I remember being canned by some here when I suggested Perth was full of froth and bubble at one time when he was talking about a super training base near the city. In that regard, I drive past the Hawks new facility at Dingley, awesome. They did their feasibility, got dollars together and went bang.
  24. We all become dinosaurs sometime and I guess I’m one. Carlton 79-81-82 team recovered Sunday morning with a training run and then what was called a pleasant Sunday morning. BBQ and Beer. They were as fit as today’s players with 100x 100 metre sprint sessions. Speaking to the players they all maintained got young blokes could recover in a heartbeat. Not so easy for the veterans. I think it must be so hard for todays players and teams when they are losing and out of form to not be able to get together, have a few drinks and just forget about footy for a while and enjoy each others company
  25. Are there any aging forward similiar to Tex Walker, Darling we could grab for a couple of years while JVR, Turner and Jefferson mature?
