  1. Are you trying to be provocative. What couldn’t do better than Henderson, Spargo, Melksham, Fritta?
  2. Goodwin is trapped. He needs to put May forward but that means his small forward idea failed.
  3. Good work, some of the ages of players surprised me when set out in position. Petty being 25 means he has a lot of upside still particularly for an Adelaide club. Kossie at 22 is gold for us. Hope he stays. Our key forwards are all young and need an older key forward to help out. I’m not up to date who that could be though. That would be my priority as well as Worpell
  4. I’m going Fritta to kick 2-3 goals. Thinking he might have asked for less congestion in forward line. No knowlege of if that could or did happen.
  5. Jefferson and Turner in out side reminds me of how we messed up Fidges career. He starred on the full back of the century in a reserves final but never made his mark. With big forwards unless you are a freak you need to give them a lot of support and backing to build their confidence.
  6. So the brains trust think Turner and the role he played caused our loss last week.
  7. Well then David is an [censored]. I fear if I went to training and saw soccer balls I would yell out, put those bloody balls away. It highlights our lack of leadership that someone does not challenge the stupidity of it. It reminded me of Essendon coaches leaders and players mindlessly getting injections in the stomach and then I had to look this David fool up to remember who he played for. I could go on and on about our fumbling, ball drop at kicking, the way we line up for goal. How about spending that time getting experts in the game teach those techniques and honing ball handling skills.
  8. On what he has done or potential? Really interested to hear what sides he’d walk into apart from WC.
  9. Are you observers seriously saying we do soccer practice at our training sessions amidst our worst slump in form for a long long time? Then I have to say Goodwin is an [censored]. Plain and simple. Not as a derogatory term but as an old fashioned [censored]. It’s old definition was a someone who does not think things through, is stubborn and unable to adapt to a change in circumstances.
  10. Yes, or Van Rooyen
  11. He’s giving his all, just finding his feet so threw him in but get your point.
  12. I’m starting to warm to this year once we have young McVee, Kolt, Lindsay, Windsor, Chandler and Langford all paying together and to a lesser degree Henderson, Culley and Sharp learning the game
  13. If the players are depressed then someone needs to remind them very quick they are paid handsomely to be professional footballers. Hard to disagree on your thoughts although I would be saying to Henderson. You have been following instructions well but now we work in getting your 11.5 disposals to 15. So I’d keep him in. My concern is Maxy, Oliver and Viney knowing that need to lift just try the same old way of playing. Max can only now do for half a game what he used to do for 90 minutes. Oliver is trying but forgotten how fit he was in his prime. Jack can see out his contract but in a new role. It’s up to the coaches to work that out and him to accept it. Fullerton for Van Rooyen for mine. No disgrace for a young player to go to VFL for a block of games. Give Fullerton the same block of games and let them fight it out for a position. Decades ago a family member was at Hawthorne in a successful era. The fight between players for a position was intense.
  14. His role was to teach, guide and get a kick, not to be selfless at the Dees
  15. Opposition players would be ready and waiting each time he gets the ball that he’s just about to create a 50/50 contest.
  16. Shoot me down but I’d get him in asap. Big body mid. Petracca, Oliver and Viney have roved to possibly the best ruckman in the history of the game. That role has to guarantee you ten kicks and it’s then up to a mid to find another 10-20 kicks. I think Viney is now what used to be called a second rover either resting in the pocket or in the pine more often. He can be a weapon rather than a workhorse.
  17. Spot on. A Ben Brown like for like
  18. There was a play at an important point on Friday. Geelong had kick in and their player ran 15-20 metres before kicking it, found another player all on his own, in turn his found the wing. I know clubs do it but surely there are times in a game when you play tight. I feel we have no gears other than a perfect tap from Gawn to a gathering Petracca and goal.
  19. Interested in opinions from those who are closer to the Club than I am. If Fullerton comes in do you expect Goody to twink the game plan or does he have to follow the game plan in replacing another tall. What I’m getting at is do people think our plan lets individual player skills to be used effectively. For example having Fullerton get to the forward pocket/ half forward rather than compete front on in marking against big bodied defenders.
  20. Listening to Neil Craig talk never impressed me but yes, his credentials were good.
  21. About 188cm now. He’s 15. I don’t want to build him up as he is coming from a long way back from kids who have played from very young. Really wanted to give a shout to our NGA program and how excited he was to meet Kossie and other players. Love to be a destination. Club for our South Sudanese kids though.
  22. I’m split on Hird, question his judgement Buckley , I could warm to Simpson, a no Longmire, with the right support. Wonder if anyone heard a bloke from Brisbane interviewed by Dwane Russell on Friday. He was super impressive and I assumed he was an ex well known player. Turns out he is chief of football or similiar and being talked of as a coach.
  23. Wow. I feel he hasn’t been aware or made aware of how hard it is to stay at the top with fit young, hungry high draft guys going for his scalp.
  24. Fix good tagging job last night
