  1. That Sam Taylor incident doesn’t look good at all.
  2. Anyone know what Gus is up to? I haven’t seen him on the bench since the game against the Dogs. Is he still doing this?
  3. JUH isn’t going anywhere. If anything I think that’s good for everyone else, as the dogs have a lot of talls on good money, but they still don’t have anything that resembles an AFL standard backline. Just on Jamarra, he looks an absolute superstar. He controls the ball at such height, and it all looks effortless. I was skeptical at first, but he’s going to be in the top 5 players in the comp. Goes to show it takes longer with tall forwards. Hang in there Jeffo.
  4. "He's fine. For some reason, he lost his footing and stumbled, but he's fine. He's been looked after and there's no concussion or anything like that," Beveridge said of Liberatore. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/western-bulldogs/afl-2024-tom-liberatore-collapses-video-what-happened-explained-tweaked-ankle-concussion-western-bulldogs-v-essendon-bombers-luke-beveridge-press-conference/news-story/30412f1b878b09187533510d63e4ebf0 I call BS.
  5. This situation with Liberatore collapsing towards the end of the game is very interesting. He and the club are claiming it was a tweaked ankle, but the vision clearly shows him being very groggy, and then collapsing into the ground. Parish was clearly concerned about him, as was Duryea. He took 2 hard knocks in the last quarter. Surely the independent AFL doctor needs to investigate that.
  6. I legitimately think that the umpires are so focused on whatever it is headquarters wants each week they forget to umpire the basics. That non play on to Langford, after he ran off the line, was as obvious as the non 50 last night when Daniher threw the ball well over Lever’s head.
  7. I’d suggest not a great look for the club, given our recent history.
  8. Koz was a huge loss. They just walked the ball out of defence, and within 10 seconds it was in their forward 50.
  9. Clayton is clearly injured, Brayshaw was our mop up player down back, then Salem had to quickly adjust to that after training all season as a mid. Now that’s done. We had to try something. I doubt the plan was to play Woey as a defender on McCarthy either. We shuffled around but it was always going to be tough with Clarry underdone and then Salem down.
  10. There was an incident in the game tonight mid way through the first quarter where it looked, from where I sit, that Zorko stuck his leg out at Petty. It was 80 metres off the ball. Was this shown on the TV, or been discussed at all anywhere?
  11. Agree. I thought Tom was great. He should be proud of how he’s competing.
  12. Folks watching on the TV, is the umpiring appearing very one dimensional to you?
  13. Oh that's so exciting! Can't wait for the game now.
  14. I know for a fact that Goodwin was openly and vocally furious at Koz after the Carlton loss last year for his actions in that game. I doubt he’s pleased.
  15. I accept Koz was always going to go for this. I love him as a player, but he’s now missed 2 games against top 4 opponents this year because of suspension. It’s just hurting the team.
  16. I often wonder if the AFL secretly loves the variance in throw ins. It helps create break away moments from clearance. I would imagine most coaches prefer a boundary throw in if they are chasing down a lead, over a ball up - where there’s far too much consistency and experienced sides can shut down the ball over and over again to create stoppages and drain the clock. It’s a quirk of our game, but it might be inadvertently providing the variance we need to keep the games dynamic.
  17. I just read this too, and he absolutely nails the AFL on both their demands for Tasmania, and how the average footy fan has been marketed the lose of something. It’s great when a journalist actually does their job. So refreshing in the current environment.
  18. Shai Bolton. He’s just incredible.
  19. Nathan Williamson is umpiring this game after umpiring Thursday night. Is that common?
  20. No. I did 6 months in the fashion/retail space and knew it wasn’t for me. From all reports the culture of all those places is toxic. Unnecessarily cruel, and successful in spite of themselves.
  21. So Geelong won that game because of the terrible ARC decision?
  22. He just glared at me. I suggest my smug face might have betrayed my ‘I’m not a football person’ narrative. They often employed former players. It wasn’t their fault, but they had no useful skills in the environment and only got the jobs because of who they were.
