  1. Copy and paste this into the notes on your phone BDA. I post it every week.
  2. I hope Carlton kick like this out of defence next week.
  3. More stoppages. Less chaos. More contest to contest. Exactly how we beat them Kings Birthday last year. You can’t panic, and try and run and gun. That’s how they want it.
  4. Howe still can’t kick.
  5. Sidebottom has been a terrific player but he’s a shadow of the footballer he was.
  6. Just another round of audible boos for Maynard. Never been addressed by HQ. Long may it continue.
  7. Is it me, or is there a lot of games this year where you hate all the teams involved?
  8. Not players, but supporters are free to give him hell. I actually think he’s lucky the first game is their home game. People will rightly boo, and they’ll just out cheer us. It’s a shame because I’d like the AFL to hear our frustration in a very unavoidable, hard to ignore way.
  9. They all do it. I read today that there’s a class action lawsuit happening in the US against the Match Group - who make Tinder, Hinge, OKCupid and essentially all the dating apps. They’ve been selling personal information (including people’s hiv status and sexual preferences) to third parties, while also deliberately hiding likely dating matches from people, to keep them on the apps. We are living in the Wild West of digital tech. It’s horrendous.
  10. Why did Port play Rozee? Very odd decision.
  11. I can relate to a lot of what Hamish says here. My love for footy isn’t what it used to be. The AFL played its hand last year with Angus’ incident, and showed us they would always value money and popularity, over justice and equity. If you tear that social contract too deeply you can never earn back peoples belief. Now I just watch the footy and laugh at how much of it is like WWE. Commentators essentially deciding tribunal matters on the fly during games, the way the schedule is constructed, and then this weeks literal wrestling kayfabe with Sam Taylor calling Sydney out - obviously instructed by the AFL to create some faux tension for the media. The AFL has jumped the shark. It pushed its version of reality so far in its own direction that I can’t unsee it’s illusions now.
  12. Ok, I watched the video and I love the jumper design so much now. Great story.
  13. My preference is for Collingwood, Carlton and Geelong to disband.
  14. Richmond are an interesting watch in that top of ladder poll. 3 flags from only 15 weeks total - and all those 15 weeks came in 2018, when they didn’t win the flag. You’ve just got to be fit and have done enough work to give yourself the best run at it. And don’t get me started on Geelong’s insane advantage of a home ground. If we played 8 home games at Casey I imagine we’d be top of the ladder a lot too.
  15. It does make you wonder in an 18 team competition how it’s even feasible that these 2 teams play each other again in 7 weeks. If I was a Blues supporter I wouldn’t be that concerned. I said it yesterday half way through the game on here - but Geelong couldn’t have been more efficient. It’s interesting because that Carlton game style was very familiar to Melbourne supporters over the last 5 years - beat a team around the ball, not finish well, and watch the ball go up the other end and see a team take literally every single opportunity. We feel that pain.
  16. I’ll tell you who is fit - Blake Acres. He almost single-handedly got Carlton up yesterday. His ability to still have bursts of speed very late in games is unbelievable. I find it fascinating that 2 teams essentially watched him walk.
  17. It doesn’t apply when flights to the game are expensive.
  18. The fundamentals of Carlton’s game are interesting. They continually smash teams at clearance, but also give up big scores.
  19. I just thought this was worth repeating.
  20. I think this is as good as Geelong can play.
  21. I looked at it again and it’s actually pretty rough. He definitely slung him.
  22. What a joke. The definition of a football act, made worse by another player’s bad decision to try and kick the ball. Can live with a week for that, but 3? Would never happen to a big club.
  23. I hope the AFL remind Geelong of this home game, that they’ve effectively sold to Carlton, when they inevitably start whinging about wanting a home final at KP. Cant have it both ways.
  24. 7 frees to 1 that quarter. 20 to 8 for the game. Port fans still booing the umpires.
