  1. Are we interpreting this as a sign Tracc is unwell still?
  2. What time does the tribunal start?
  3. Leave vegetables out of this.
  4. ‘After an exhaustive search where we flew to 8 different countries, on 4 private jets, and stayed at some of the finest St Regis hotels across the globe, we made the the very considered decision to employ one of the guys who happened to be in the room when we were briefed.’
  5. I commented after the Hawthorn game how annoying some Melbourne supporters had become at the ground. If it wasn’t ‘perfect’ they got upset. On the weekend it was eerily quite after halftime because we really didn’t fire a shot. I honestly think if we kicked the first goal of the last quarter it would have brought the crowd into it. Instead there was nothing to cheer. We got smashed all over the ground, and nobody stood up and tried to change momentum. Had Viney or Pickett ruffled some feathers the crowd would have brought in. The players looked so flat - so the supporters became really quite. I don’t think that will happen again this year. I think if a team is coming at us Jack, Koz and Harmesy will scrap. Plenty of learnings there. Bring the crowd into the game - especially at home.
  6. I was speaking to a well known author who wrote a book with Gawny last year, and he also wrote the Tigers premiership books. He was saying the expectations on the players time is really intense, and it shifts and changes every week depending on game times. I imagine it’s very difficult to do anything too structured that you can’t control during the season.
  7. How much will power did it take not to just click the face palm button and not say a word? I’m not sure I could have resisted 🤣
  8. Goodwin said today on radio that Tracc’s decision to play came down to him saying he was ok, but that decision was a chance for him ‘learn’. I interpreted that as code for ‘shouldn’t have played, and possibly won’t be trusted with the decision making in the future’. He was clearly very ill. Goodie said Tracc told them during the game he didn’t have the energy to get to the contests - so they put him forward.
  9. I watched him really closely on the weekend and he appeared to give up on himself in a few marking contests. This is not to say that he didn’t try, but he didn’t force himself to compete and scrap and fight - and not accept defeat. Sadly you’ve just got to have that to be an AFL footballer in the modern game - especially as a big bloke in our team with the way we play. Nobody wants to see him succeed more, but you can’t play at this level on confidence, you’ve got to play on belief and instinct. He’s just not going to be a regular senior footballer.
  10. Goodie looking after Ed’s coffee company off the top. He’s a good team player.
  11. I’m no medical expert, but does this mean they aren’t broken? Just curious 👍
  12. Anyone else think Langdon has broken ribs and we won’t see him until after the bye? I’m not trying to be masochistic, I just think it’s odd the club just calls it ‘ribs’. Did I miss info about this somewhere?
  13. Demons fans, next week at the game cheer hard and loud for Adam Tomlinson. Hasn’t dropped his head, continued to work hard and deserves his shot. We need guys like him being professional and giving it their all regardless of what level they are playing. I have a lot of admiration for players like him and Mitch Brown.
  14. I genuinely reckon 2/3rds of all Melbourne club members this year brought memberships so they’d get finals tickets. Not many show up on game day - which is bizarre given where we’ve come from, and how good we’ve been the last few years. I will say the apparel is moving. Hopefully the club is making its money there.
  15. Tracc shouldn’t have played. I think this will serve us well in the long run as he owes us one, and will know it. Stick May, Langdon, Salem, TMac, and a fit Petracca back in that side and the game is played very differently. That’s 4 of our top 6 players, and much more competitiveness and skill around, and forward, of the ball. Freo are good, but they aren’t that good. They exploited a hole in the game that wasn’t there until May went down. Petty was hobbled and it got much worse. I don’t think Lever is 100% yet. They won’t get another crack at us looking like that behind the ball again.
  16. Wasn’t a problem in September last year when we out scored teams by 20 goals. Everyone is allowed to have a bad day at work, which Ben had today, and Tom wasn’t there. You’d understand about a bad day bad at work if you had a job, or a personality anyone else could possibly work with.
  17. I’d just like to apologise to the club, players, sponsors and supporters. Without fail when it’s my birthday we get beaten. I shouldn’t have attended, as this was always going to happen. In all seriousness Weed is mentally shot. I feel for him but he gave up on contests tonight, and knew he was going to get beaten. I think he’s a great bloke, but he doesn’t have the mental determination for elite sport. Our stoppage and clearance work was really, really poor. I know there’s a lot of talk about Yze, but I didn’t see anything shift or change in the game that suggested we tried much - and we got absolutely slaughtered. Happy to be proven wrong. In general we just didn’t show any spirit after half time. As a fan I was disappointed in that. Kept waiting for it and it didn’t come. Not the end of the world, just a chance to learn and reevaluate.
  18. What I learnt from that is: A)Derm doesn’t watch much footy that isn’t Hawthorn. He waffled on about Sam Mitchell but I was at that game and the hawks kicked the last 3 goals to make it seem a lot closer than it was. Sure, they tried to play keeping’s off and work the ball on the 45 angle - but they still didn’t kick enough of a score to genuinely threaten us. B) Andy doesn’t watch much footy, and when he does he doesn’t understand what he’s looking at. C) My afternoons are better spent not listening to the radio.
  19. I still think a new regional Victorian team that plays out of Kardinia Park makes a lot of sense. But I mostly think that because I hate Geelong, and just want to see them have to share a stadium that all Victorians have paid for.
  20. He uses his headshot as his avatar, which is enough to suggest he’s a [censored] - but what confirms it is the headshot makes him look like he’s auditioning to host The Price Is Right. ’Jonny Ralph…come on down’
  21. Thanks for this info. I guess I’m some what confused as to why there will only be 35k max at the footy on Saturday and I can’t buy any tickets undercover. The AFL want me shell out $350 for these reserved tickets - but if I got GA tickets and gave them $150 I could just walk up and sit somewhere dry and not get wet. It seems ludicrous. I guess that’s what I’ll do.
  22. Strange question, but I’d love some help. I’ve got 2 memberships, but I’m taking 5 other people to the footy on Saturday and I’d love to buy reserve seats undercover for everyone because the age group ranges from 8 to 70. Any idea how I do this? When I look on the ticketek site the seats are all garbage. Will more become available?
  23. Maysy will just have to console himself with his Premiership medal, and the fact that every Melbourne supporter adores him.
  24. I see Bevo is having a whinge about Naughton being blocked off his run for marks. If they start paying those as frees Max will get 5 more free kicks a game. I hope this whole thing back fires and it shows everyone how to beat Naughton, and finally allows the media to talk about #freekickbulldogs
