  1. I always prefer Friday night games. I can either watch other games relaxed knowing we won, or watch other teams with spite and revenge in my heart.
  2. Surprised more wasn’t made of it at the time. He lined him up from 5 metres away and ran passed the ball.
  3. So I’m assuming you turned off against Brisbane after 5 minutes? In case you’re curious we won that game quite easily in the end. Shame you missed it. This forum is a shambles after a loss. Get a grip. We aren’t going to win every game. We played at about 50% capacity and got beaten by 2 goals.
  4. I really like what I read on here about rumours BBB was doing a mini preseason. I really hope that’s correct, and he comes into the team after the bye. If he can get some separation on the lead then we are a much better team. If nothing else defenders are going to watch him more closely than they do SW. Brown, McDonald and Jackson deserve a month working together to see if they can click.
  5. I trust the team a lot more than some of the ‘supporters’ based on the dummy spitting and wrist slashing going on on this forum simply because we lost a game.
  6. I’m so over this argument on this forum. Every difference of opinion diverts to ‘how long have you supported the club for?’, instead of debating the facts. In this case so called ‘supporters’ taking pot shots at the club even when we are doing well. When you call them on their childish reactions to ONE loss, it somehow becomes about how they’ve been a supporter for longer than you. It’s garbage. It’s not supportive to use any opportunity to try and rubbish us when we are on top of the ladder. That’s by definition not ‘support’, and if you’ve been doing it for a long period of time you need to ask yourself some hard questions about what you think you’re ‘supporting’. And I don’t care how old you are. If you’re acting like a child you’re never to old to be called out for it.
  7. Ok. ? I’ll stop trying to defend a team that’s 11-2, and let you all go back to slitting your wrists because we don’t win every week. Bye ??
  8. I didn’t say more than us, I said ‘everything’ in the context that as individuals they are all playing to avoid some of the blame for ultimately failing their coach. It was undoubtedly an emotion driven win for them, as if you’ve seen them for the last few months they’ve played with nowhere near that level of intensity and energy. The moment he was gone it was always going to be infinitely trickier for us.
  9. That’s a massive over reaction. We lost a game, but it won’t cost us finals. They always play well against us, and aside from last year have beaten us consistently for 5 years. They had everything to play for today, and we just looked tired and flat. Lets not throw the baby out with the bath water. It’s ok to be disappointed, but let’s not fall apart.
  10. My 2 observations: 1. If I was Buckley, I’d be furious. Where has that level of intensity been for them all year? I’ve seen a fair bit of their footy and their tackling intensity and ball use was horrific. They choose when to go, and it was us unfortunately. 2. We looked very flat all game. Not clean, constantly fumbling, and not bringing our team mates into the game with first options. I don’t mind if the press come for us now. We need a rocket, and 2 weeks to reset and focus on what we want to be.
  11. A better quarter but a few of our players could give the first option and help their teammates out.
  12. By any logic in any professional sport that would cost that umpire being dropped. they never get dropped
  13. Our midfielders are getting killed at the fall of the ball. Not working hard enough, and not winning enough contests. Thats the game.
  14. Why has the umpire in the middle of the ground called play on 5 times when no player has moved? It’s bizarre.
  15. Riewoldt gets into a verbal altercation with Waterman over something. Waterman puts his hand out to apologise. Riewoldt pushes it away. He’s such a hypocrite. Likes to pretend he’s better.
  16. A 2 losers draw. North shouldn’t have let that slip, and GWS shouldn’t have left it so late. Plus GWS need wins. The draw is essentially a loss.
  17. Sounds like another football forum I frequent.
  18. It was poor - but they had so few players available you can’t read too much into it. For what it’s worth I really rate Ratten. He had our midfield performing above where it should have been when he was midfield coach, and I think he understands the game really well.
