  1. I've noticed Hunt's enthusiasm and energy. Those are the kinds of things that make us a good club, and make me still have a lot of faith in his future.
  2. Joe Daniher is a certainty at Full Forward in my Players I Can’t Stand best 22. Its the forward pockets where it gets hard - Weightman, Ginnivan, Higgins. The competition is fierce.
  3. 100% I take medication to manage my mental health problem every day. Alongside lifestyle changes it’s made me a completely different person, and significantly happier, and healthier. Trust me - if you’ve truly experienced mental health problems you’re not going to take drugs that will completely mess with your psychological health. If he takes mental health meds then it’s the definition of insanity to mix them with street drugs. The blanket labelling of a host of behavioural issues under the guise of ‘mental health’ is an insult to all of us, and the fact we aren’t allowed to publicly call it out for what it is means that it will continue to be a problem. THIS is what journalism is supposed to be about. Uncovering the truth, not about a specific individual, but about a practice that reeks of insincerity.
  4. In the third quarter they did what they needed to do to win the game, and they clearly had the legs to do it. Maybe I’ve been tainted by what we’ve dished up after half time the last few weeks, but they have a lot more energy to my eye than we currently do.
  5. Freo looking fit and fast. Let’s hope they didn’t get the memo about Loading. It’ll be a tough game style to play for 26 weeks.
  6. Freo getting a good crowd, in a state dealing with big Covid numbers. #Crowdmyths
  7. Why is this story not on the AFL website? 🤔
  8. 100%. Imagine if a journo said to Craig McRae ‘Public Holiday game on Monday. You’d expect a big crowd - but you’d get a big crowd every Monday considering 90% of your supporter base are unemployed’.
  9. Hmmmm. I dunno. I feel like our backline players have taken a fair bit of blame over recent weeks for issues at stoppage and forward of the ball. To be fair it probably feels this way because we’ve got no forwards ready to go, as frustrating as that is.
  10. On what basis? And how does he feel about De Goey then? He must want a Royal Commission on that.
  11. See! I’ve forgotten that detail too! 🤣👍
  12. If we all stop giving it any thought it stops having any power. It happened. Move on. Remember when Spargo and Pickett got suspended for taking an Uber during Covid, or when Oliver got caught drunk driving, or when TMac said vaccines shouldn’t be mandatory? I don’t really either - as I had to google all those stories to fact check. None of these things matter if the team plays well together. Take a deep breath, picture Gawn holding the cup, and let it blow over. The footy media is just bored as we are in the bye weeks. Don’t get sucked in.
  13. I heard the Brisbane CEO on radio a few weeks back and he mentioned that Dan’s girlfriend is from Brisbane, and he has a bunch of properties in Brisbane. I’d be really surprised if he left.
  14. I know there’s a lot going on at the moment, but we can we just take a second to talk about Tim Watson’s glasses? Why does he look like a poor man’s Groucho Marx? 🥸
  15. I got mine before the Freo game. They are so good.
  16. I won’t eat there again. They are just trying to capitalise on this now. Why would you go out of you way to publicise that footballers fought at your $$$$ restaurant? If you are looking for French in the area Bistro Gitan is romantic and very charming, or their sister restaurant l’Hotel Gitan is more relaxed and does an excellent traditional chicken rotisserie special on Wednesday nights. I can assure you at both locations any punches thrown at the table will be handled discreetly, and the respective wine lists are very good.
  17. Ok, so if I have it correctly players questioned why May was drinking, Melksham probably amongst them, they then threw a few cheap insults at each other for a laugh, May went too far with his cheap shot and Melksham (justifiably) didn’t like it and clocked him. It doesn’t sound like the end of the world. The real question here is what is Glenn Bartlett texting about this? Can’t wait to find out in the Herald Sun in October 2023. #breakingnews
  18. That’s very ordinary.
  19. This is the kind of knowledgeable, well written, industry specific insight that kills the fun for those of us who rely on speculation, gut feel, and third hand rumours overheard at a coffee shop in Casey. How dare you. 🤣
  20. Backing out of the room slowly as I love Entrecôte and I suspect stating that might do nothing to help the perception of us as a supporter group. Cheeseboard anyone?
  21. I’m super disappointed. I love Steven May. He’s everything that our footy club wasn’t for 50 years. Unrelenting, ruthless, ridiculously competitive and tough as nails. He made a mistake, he’ll pay for it, and I’ll still love him - because you’ve gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette and Steven is the first in line to break em. I guess I’m saying he was probably being himself, and that’s what makes him an incredible player. While you can be disappointed in the action you have to see it as part of the entirety of the person. He’ll be livid, as he should be, and now he owes his teammates and the club one. Get behind him.
  22. It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out Weid is very much on the outer. Goodwin always publicly defends players, but he’s changed tack about Sam because I suspect he’s tried literally everything else to get him fired up. I actually think Sam is the most disappointing player drafted to Melbourne in the last 8- 10 years. We’ve spent a lot of money and coaching effort on him, and now when we need him more than ever he’s completely uncompetitive.
  23. ‘I often sit at home drinking Chardonnay on my couch and think those people sitting behind the goals furiously supporting the club in the pouring rain should do more’. In all seriousness the cheer squad are 100% not an issue. The issue is we have 60k members and it’s glaringly obvious on game day at least 50% of them don’t show up. People will come on here making claims about Covid and the flu, but every time I ask them why mysteriously Covid doesn’t impact Freo or Sydney supporters they seem to go missing. Probably out stocking up on a dry white wine for this Mondays game at home in front of the telly. Maybe Kayo should release a Chardonnay subscription pack for those who can’t be Foxtelled going to the footy.
  24. You’re right. I was disappointed in the loss and went too hard on him. I was bitterly disappointed in his two way running yesterday. I know he got votes in the Eagles and North game but I reckon he did a few things, particularly against North, that we’re very low percentage. I just think his best is blindingly good, so I probably hold him to a standard that might be unachievable. 👍
