Aidan Johnson
Hes on our list ahead of many others not on lists, so has some attributes. I agree that if he is playing regularly we may be i for a poor season but he can offer some backup and support. There may be a time when we can/must rest our prime options and can play our support options. It will be up to the coaches to get the best use from the whole squad for the whole season Selection must be made on form and the opposition.

Annual General Meeting
There was a bit of comment on the emblem and slogans. I wasparticularly affected by those suggesting "GO Dees" was insipid. As i said to one who suggested that they have obviously not sat in front of me and my mates. WE also use the GoDees as a syncopated cry as the ball is quickly transferred from one player to another. Whatever cry you use it is all in the context of the passion of the delivery.

Hey Red is your horse a good thing. If we all put a small amount on, it could compound to be enough to fund the project. or is this also dependent on MRC discussions.

Ground Entry Song / Grand Old Flag
I like many aspects of discussion. I do think that the choral/vocal range of the example needs some work. Any proposal needs to be small vocal range and still recognisable when full participation of unsophisticated crowd. Different pace can be used to encourage participation. Tigerland still the benchmark for me with the gutteral "yellow and black" always having full participation Our own ad libbed rhetorical "What do we sing" is the closest match but doesnt always inspire the same participation. Of course the result winning is always significant.

Music Recommendation thread for off-season Boredom

PRESEASON TRAINING 2025: Bright and Myrtleford
I am an audience , despite my mothers voice and participation in choirs and light opera. I was blessed to be surrounded and exposed to music and my tastes are also eclectic.

PRESEASON TRAINING 2025: Bright and Myrtleford
Couldnt agree more. Perhaps you can provide some more appropriate if obscure tracks for the players music education. I was intrigued on my recent visit to Norfolk Island that a local performer, who sang an impressive collection of covers, had not heard of Otis Redding, and then in Coloundra a similar performer made the same comment. I thought every performer knew sitting on the Dock of the bay, but his impressive collection contains so many different rythms and tempos that he always inspires me. Sorry to hijack Training thread , thanks for everyone who contributed Im invested for the season ita gonna be great.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
He is someone else,s problem now. Lets just hope they do not get him back to 6 time winning club B&F and helping win a Grand Final. They are traits that all players play for and it will be interesting to see what happens. He gave me many happy hours and I will still remember him as a club great. I think it says as much about the club as it does about Clarry, perhaps we got his contract wrong and didnt provide the correct support to continue to get the best out of him. I wasnt in the room at any stage so have no idea really, but I am disappointed and dont believe the club has communicated well, which is a continuing issue. I love and support the club and will continue. I hope this years performance improves quickly and we enjoy success which overides our disappointments.

PRESEASON TRAINING 2025: Bright and Myrtleford
Might have been Ben from Bridge road Brewery. He is a snowboarder and was one of the first small brewers in the area. He has also always mentored and supported new brewers in the area including Bright brewery, he was always happy to help them with advice and supplies while they got started. He has now expanded into Brunswick and an outlet at the airport.

Inside Access - Day 1 Pre Season
I hope he is reminding them to not only display their skills but to get to know their teamates skills intimately. Know how far they can kick , How fast they can move, how strong they are in a contest ,etc. This is the time to really find out how everyone fits together, and where they fit.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th November 2025
Can anyone advise if players are being conditioned to shepherding after distributing the ball to another player, ie making space for that player and protecting them to allow them to balance and deliver more precisely. I have noticed for some time that that instinctive action to shepherd seems to have disappeared with the emphasis on a quick gather and release and then to move on to the next passage of play.

AFLW: SF vs Adelaide
It has been a recurring issue for both men and womens teams. I have suggested that the club invite the umpires to training or special sessions so we can correct our techniques. We are obviously doing something wrong with the way we tackle or handle our opponents and the ball.Perhaps we position ourselves badly and obscure the fair sighting , or we move the ball on too quickly or too slowly, we must correct this. Or there is some difficulty in seeing our necks heads and backs because of the colour of our jumper.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
It will be interesting to see how his new club manages him. Some clubs had difficulty with Hogan but I think he went ok last season.

Training Ground?
Certainly hope so Redleg. There seems to be constant comment on power and influence, not to mention financial and political failures.
