  1. Well Hong Kong several hours later I amgined that Diaos kicked the winning goal and Pies won by several, enough for their supporters to say the few umpiring mistakes made no difference and we kicked ourselves out of it anyway.... Open the game day thread to find only 1 point but it seems we did kick ourselves out of it. Commencing Post game now as i wait for transfer to Melb Home in another couple of hrs.
  2. with a result
  3. must be like me running out of time???? See you in Hong Kong.
  4. Plane is about to board am I going to miss the finish?
  5. Time delay is killing me . Pretty neat internet here in Osaka airport. hope a win makes the trip more enjoyable.
  6. im up to date Dland . keep the comments and scores coming . Must be hell down ther. but surely the umpiring must turn???? At least even out give the boys a chance and some hope.
  7. sitting in Osaka airport. THis is my match. But was told that ABC cllers have already said umpiring is atrocious. Im just keeping up with Dlanders THanks
  8. With you HT. Stay positive, its all you can do . Treatment and care has progressed so much. If you need a break in Beechworth to recharge, let me know. We have a cottage Lochwood Cottage AirBNB and have offered to Dees as aprize in the past.
  9. Yes . Happy Birthday Hope the present is the win.
  10. flying back from Japan With Cathay so hope the captain can get the game streamed on inflight.
  11. As an adherent of the Chaos Theory, I have some affinity with the volume approach. However I also ascribe to the theory patterns that that the components lead to the outcomes , most specifically the bifurcations are subject to the strange attractor. We must identify that strange attractor, I have posited that it was Trac, but in reality it could be other factors or we would score goals every 5.5333 times we attack. Of course the theory is developed from large data analysis and so we may be the victim of previous periods of accuracy which is now being compensated for to came back to the magical number.
  12. Circuitous affirmation!
  13. These are all positive comments and show the breadth of performance that coaches are looking at. There's an obvious development trend there so good. I assume the negatives or areas to improve are also examined with as much analysis and feedback given to the individuals. there are some extremely good comments which indicate where the experience is being acknowledged and how this can eb an example for the newer players, building confidence and ability.
  14. all good points and a consequence of evolution. As a player is recognised they are also treated differently, double teamed etc and so it is more important than ever that the team they are in and the structures and patterns they are in also evolve. Cameron seems to ba an example. Teamates must run patterns that leave more space for Key forward. Teamates must take opponents out of contests to create space or alternatively use the space created by KF. Teamates must block legally and run across contests. Aplyer like Fritsch or Jefferson can use a late run at a contest if their opponent goes to the contest with JVR. OF course the umpires will also evolve and when they once paid chopping free kicks in contests they rarely do now. BBB was a beneficiary of this while at North but inexplicably the interpretation seemed to change when he joined Deees. All KF were affected (Naughton esp) as they then paid it less. I am not criticising umpires but maintain that the club should have sessions with the umpires to establish what we are doing wrong to not receive free kicks for what seem to be infraction s against us while we give way similar frees.
  15. Glad you mentioned it. Must pack the dun screen.
  16. I think you nailed it with the bolded bit. I was certainly of the same opinion. They also do some fantastic and positive things. So can the Demons
  17. Gee things are certainly getting interesting at training. Wish I could come down and enjoy the hierarchy battles. Ive often said in appreciating the commitment, dedication and passion of all trackwatchers that if the players displayed the same qualities we would be unstoppable. I think you are again proving that point. And I do agree that the club should have operatives with greater abilities than Dlanders but once again I am impressed wiith the degree of resident knowledge. It would be good to have that discussion I was trying to encourage but can certainly understand the reluctance when likely outcome would be more frustration and shouting into the abyss.
  18. mate in SA , ex player at ammos lvel and still participates , was dead against this rule when it was bought in. Now is fully supportive says it takes the decision making out of umpires and also has resulted in many less OOB. Players adapt.
  19. I took the same advice on Fishermans Bend.
  20. yeh I understand. But I do agree with some of what he says. Often find myself yelling the same thing over and over. I do try and support the cheer squad too
  21. done and done
  22. Would like to have a talk with you someday. Im away at the moment but normally sit in N3 at the G
  23. And is it ever too cold to practice kicking a goal?????
  24. Lets hope its not too cold when we play the pies!
  25. Im feeling a bit remote being in Japan at present. Upside is I am having plenty of time to review Dland, (or unfortunate for Picket fence who I have been trying to get to training and see if he can improve kicking) however....... I was surprised to see, in the fresh fruit market of Kanasawa (along with some mysterious items that may have been fruit, vegetable, mineral or plastic facsimiles) all labelled in JApanese (a language as foreign to me as Collingwood praise) bananas wrapped in cellophane. They were wrapped individually in packs of two and packs of three. I purchased a pack of two but couldnt release them from the cellophane. The wonderful sales person, (seeing my difficulty) cut the wrapping with a fine shinto blade and with much gesturing and pointing, instructed and assisted me in the disposal of the wrapping and the peel. Every aspect of the transaction was done with such authority and efficiency that I feel she could assist the players in goal kicking, Alternatively she could immediately take over the Lever role in the back line< her gesturing was very much above par.
