Watching the 2014 Ess game now........ Has me thinking a fit Kent this year will be enormous is our fast movement fwd,blokes a gun! Pedo is a better player than Dawes, presents and jumps and has strong hands! And Dom Tyson is a Gun.... Last year was 50% of Tyson, he will be like a recruit this year! So really 2016 new players could be Kent, Tyson, Petracca, Bugg, Kennedy, Oliver, Weed, Hullett, Trengrove, Frost (will be a gun) and could probably add Salem. That's exciting

Just my experience, but the fifth is the half forward (usually flanker) who pushes up at a stoppage and shuts down the oppositions back door get out or outside player.

A good chf can sugar coat some other weaknesses (and we have plenty), poor chf' are hard to hide

They both play CHF, one of the most important spots on the ground, and I was kind of hoping our success starts this year, so they are vital to our success going forward. So........... Unless one of them has been doping, and we can replace them with a VFL player, We're stuffed

Why I would hope a player develops quickly and brings something to the table? Not saying he needs to develop quickly, or its bad if he doesn't, I'm saying I hope he does as we would then have another player pushing for spots or delivering on match day.....

Yeh fair enough. And yes I meant pay them out and bring in something productive. Terlich would be on a small amount, not the end of the world. White kicked 3 goals in an Afl game in a losing side, he has something, Terlich has nothing. And I understand smith isn't on our list, I was just commenting on how hard it is to be a quality afl player and I don't think you can just show up and play cause you were good at basketball and can jump. Hopefully he develops quickly and brings something to the table. And if not a white/Lovett, there's a heap of blokes like Mark Baguley running around Vfl in there mid 20s who would blossom in the right environment. He was playing local footy at 21 now he's one of the best small defenders in the league and a vc where as Terlich/Jones are just biding their time before they get the chop

I noticed him a couple times yesterday. Took a grab on the lead, and where there was options to dish off to runners or wheel around himself he was very reactive to voices and that split second late to decide, missing the chance and ending up just kicking long up the line. Will just take time for decisions and vision to come instinctually. Another one he ran round the back and got a handball off Oliver, carried it until he was under pressure and just floated one out of bounds. I think the elite level of afl football is not one you can just join in and compete unless you have outstanding athleticism that puts you above others. Won't cost us anything but I won't be holding my breath. I would of rathered the time be put into a Spencer white or jake Lovett etc. surely we could of flicked terls or m.jones and squeezed a prospect player on the list

I didn't see any sort of a centre stoppage so positions were hard to gather, but looked to me to be off hbf. Very composed and classy as always.

Hunt looked OK in match som. Couple of bursts of half back, didn't use it well but was very wet and tough conditions.. He is def focused on trying to break lines when in possession. Just needs to make better decisions

I popped down, they were doing full match simulation the whole time I was there. White, Salem, Jetta, Garland where the best users out of half back line. I like Grimes, so watched closely, 1 from 4 of his clearances hit a target with one out of bounds and one out on the full, and one a turn over. Pedo looked good at chf, Hulk great as usual. Dom Tyson looked real good, racked up touches and used it well. At one stage Viney took on the man on the mark, got done holding the ball, was shattered, his opponent went to play on straight away and JV rag dolled him holding the ball back. Jones looked classy, Gawny looked very good. Stretch seemed to run to some bad places and was being ignored. Oliver was great in the wet, wins one v ones, and is so clever with his use in close. Any other questions might spark some other info as I was working at the same time.

That is a long seriously impressive clip! Aggressive, knocks teammates out of the way to get the hard ball, plays on all the time, fast, strong, sells a shitload of candy and kicks goals!!!! That's got me pumped!

Pretty much just comes down to Howe vs Melksham, and Toumpas vs Kennedy really. Neither average/poor melbourne player was doing anything of note, so why not make change, we currently suck. The more change the better.

Point is that we should start recruiting players who can help us win NOW. We've been down too long and have become unattractive. Want to get Prestia next year? Better be pushing for finals. Need players who can affect our performance this year and Rosa is a class player and he's only 28. Got 4 or more years left

He actually had a good goal kicking effeciency this year, media just jumped on board sledging him. His hands are ridiculous too. Get him!

Kennedy is a gun, every time I've seen him play for collingwood I've been impressed, and a mate of mine who plays in collingwoods vfl team says at any other team he would be playing regularly and killing it

He has some value, if he wants to stay for a LOT less than $650k then great, if not I would not be to fussed losing a hbf/hff who can't go through the midfield and doesn't rack up large possessions or goals. Top 10 pick or a talented mid would be more beneficial long term.
