Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury
tappysquads replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gives me a sick feeling in the guts. Fingers crossed. Being able to walk off means nothing. In some cases you would rather a lot of pain and not able to walk as it can just be a tare, where as a rupture is generally pain free after a couple of minutes -
Please tell me Petracca has not hurt himself? Just read he was in pain on his back holding his knee, then hobbled off ...

Training - Wednesday 11th February, 2015 at Casey Fields

For those who have been at training, can Kent make the jump this year and become one of our more damaging players. I've been watching 2014 on fox over the last few weeks and he just stands out. Excellent kick, strong body, pace, can kick a goal, and aggressive. One of my favourite players and really hope he can go on with it this year and grab a top 5 b n f -

Huge fan of Viney, and I think his game style is not the type to overly stand out during practice. He is a competitive beast, so fingers crossed another solid pre season sets him up to unload on game day and take contested ball to another level -
Colin Garland potential forward
tappysquads replied to Henrietta Lumbago's topic in Melbourne Demons
As long as hoges is at chf, I couldn't care if tye vickery played ff..... I just wanna see number 1 run out round 1 -
He has played some sensational games for melbourne. Early on he was playing miles above his lack of experience. If he gets back to 100% he is def top 18. Just depends what percentage he gets to

On Lumumba, didn't realise we were selecting our LG based on what collingwood thought of players? If you haven't figured out yet, Buckley and lumumba are two extremely different types which caused his exit. I'm pretty sure roos would be selecting this group based on his own interactions with the individuals, and what they have done at the mfc. And every single action of cross screams out leader, follow me, this is how it's done. He played great footy last year, and if our youth can grab anything from anyone, I hope it's cross's professionalism. That's why he's in the leadership group.

Plus the older you get, niggles and long term injuries can break down or alter your technique, so more often than not it goes the other way and skills fade -

I'd love to be at the training session where roos tells Viney that Mckenzie is currently going to take his spot in the 22 for round one like u currently suggest. I would back Viney to outplay Mckenzie 95% of the time in any aspect of football....... Blind folded -
What I would like to be reading in a couple hours time: -Stand out from today, silky Jim Toumpass -Jack Watts was super strong around the contest, head over the ball and determined -Fitzpatrick read a long ball perfectly, positioned himself for a text book contested mark, only to have Dawes jump over the top of him and take a strong one grab mark -nick maxwell wandered onto the park, mistakenly got in between Viney and a football, Medical staff are still attending -petracca "don't argued" Mckenzie through a fence, burst for 40m and nailed a goal from 60 -JKH stepped through traffic, ran to the 50m only to be run down by a desperate defensive tackle from garlett -didn't see one backwards kick in match simulation for the whole session -frost spoiled at fb, cleaned up by Jetta, hand off to lumumba who stepped through a tackle and hit a 50m switch on the chest of McDonald who took 2 bounces down the wing and hit hogan coming out of ff Anything I missed?

That's what being a melbourne supporter is all about I remember neelds last season, I thought if we don't make finals this year something's wrong.... I was right

Yeh, I'm sure he really struggles with the ladies compared to your masculine self? -
So we have a player who is miles behind anyone else in terms of fitness, and in the mold of another player who can't get a game. Exciting times

Dislocated knee or dislocated patella? Massive difference, hope it was the patella. Think that's what he injured last time wasn't it. No where near as serious- 188 replies

After watching the replays of this year on foxtel, and it's something I've always believed anyway, I think Gawn has the potential to be a star. He is very mobile and clean at ground level for a bloke his sizzle. His tap work is good and improving and his contested marking is actually pretty good. I think max is already a better player than 3/4 of the starting ruckmen in the afl. And I think he ceiling is a lot higher than what we have seen so far. If fit, 2015 will be a huge year for Maximus.

Talking point: The first half of the season to come
tappysquads replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would believe we are on the up if we could give someone a pantsing..... Can't remember our last 50+ point win. Haven't looked capable of it for quite a while. -

Sounds like a crazily tough time they are having up there..... Having to cook steaks without a barbecue...... Insanity! What's next? Put on there shoes without a shoe horn! -
We have heaps of game changers..... Bail kicking short across goal, Mckenzie set shot from top of goal square, watts dropping chest marks inside 50....... Nah I actually believe Kent will develop into a Isaac Smith type player and be a match winner Other candidates Hogan, Viney, Jetta (his courageous acts with tackles and marks in def 50 should be the bench mark)
