  1. Dank quietly left Essendon last year amid the fallout from the club's dramatic slide down the ladder. Melbourne Football Club has since knocked him back for a job in its own football department - perhaps a rare stroke of fortune for the tanking-accused Demons. If you have taken notice of the approach our club have taken to rebuild then you would know that there was no way we would employ him. Rare stroke of fortune my a... Craig and Misson know what they are doing and as Craig has been quoted as saying we won't reach the required levels until half way through 2014. Essendon were stupid enough to try and fast track something you can't do (legally and without complications). Even if they are not charged with anything here they are guilty of gross miss management and soft tissue injuries are going to dog that playing list for a long time to come. Bring back a club hero with no coaching experience and this is what you get, someone who listens to the wrong people, someone who appoints the wrong people. ...and where is that DH David King who was lauding the Essendon approach as far superior to ours last pre season. The tortoise and the hare Kingky, a lot of people need to go back and read that one. Including some at our club who have us embroiled in another issue at the moment. ...By the way this wouldn't have been a CS appointment it would have been Misson and/or Craig who turned him down. I hope we can hold these guys along with Neeld for quite a time yet.
  2. Guilty or not there is obviously an issue at Essendon of who is in control. As I posted on another thread doing an analysis of them as one their supporters so kindly did of us Hird has surrounded himself with insiders, his mates. There are divisive people in senior positions (one well known to us) because of Hird and as I said then and say again now it could well be his downfall. Couldn't happen to a nicer club. On another point, how will the players who took the whatever it was be identified? If there is action to be taken how will the culprits be punished, is there a record or will the club have to name a list...bet we could list who wouldn't be on it, Hurley, Watson, Heppel...
  3. Just a sideline issue but with Dank and the weapon's involvement with Manly do the Storm get their premierships back?
  4. These guys have a history of lies, in fact it was so bad that Patrick Smith gave away a lifetime of support in protest. I wouldn't think you trust anything that comes from the mouths of Robson, Hird, Thompson or Evans.
  5. Very ethical holding secret meetings in the Presidents office to get rid of Knights and take over his job, then denying everything.
  6. He was becoming the let out option because of his decision making and kicking skills. Opposition coaches saw this and worked to cut him out when we played them. It wasn't during a game it was pre game planning and the defensive forward was going to Watts.
  7. Watts was causing enough grief last year for opposition coaches to start playing a defensive forward on him. I think he will be a difficult match up this year and really step it up another notch.
  8. Col certainly has the physical attributes but I've always thought it was peripheral vision, awareness and decision making that let him down. He's not a smart footballer but with Moloney gone it's probably not as big an issue, if he can get to enough ball he can cause damage.
  9. Great pix. Just an observation...interesting that some are still struggling with high tackles even though we have been working on going low. It's going to take time to break old habits for some players, others are showing some great tackling form.
  10. Didn't stop Morton from being shown the door, sorry traded for pick 80 something.
  11. I would think if the decision is not known by then it will be heading in the wrong direction for us anyway 'old dee'. Lets hope it's all wrapped up.
  12. Lloyd.....surely they could find someone with a contrary viewpoint like Thomas. Boring.............
  13. Ah...that kind of secret.
  14. Secret?
  15. Robbie Flower to a key position, back or forward.
  16. ...and no more easy kicks to his brothers mob at WC.
  17. Good luck to Jordie but if you heard the interview when asked about Gysberts Harvey went on about Jacobs and hardly mentioned him.
  18. Was a good question 'Moonshadow', looking at the pic I was thinking the same. Thanks for clearing it up 'Rigoni'.
  19. Trouble is the focus on skin folds and body fat composition has pushed players away from alcohol and to recreational (not a great word I know) drugs in a time when this is becoming an acceptable part of youth culture. The AFL didn't have to get involved in the first place and now they've made a rod for their own back. They really should have gone with the WADA code and be done with it.
  20. ...Jason Richardson drives me mad, thinks he's funny, keeps laughing at his own dumb jokes. I guess someone has to.
  21. Picked with NilNat in the Fijian all-star squad.
  22. More likely LeCras takes the Hill spot, it was his before injury and whilst not a small, small forward as such it is the position he had.
  23. Beat me to it 'billy', it's right out of the CS play book.
  24. It was an issue 'Redleg' earlier in the day when what he said could have mean't a number of things but now we know it was a slip well it is as you say irrelevant.
  25. "Our club has today – in accordance with the agreed timeframe - provided its response to the AFL investigation," McLardy said.
