Love 'Robbie' but he is not right about this. This team got belted by a good Fitzroy outfit who finished top 4 in that season but at least they showed some resolve the next week and beat Essendon. This current team has a history of these performances going back a few years now and they have a history of not coming up after poor performances or for important games like start of season, win for Jim, show some spirit after Geelong....etc.etc. There is no spirit in this club, sorry Rob this is no knee jerk reaction, we have been very patient and very forgiving.

I'm not talking about any internal factions at the club. I'm talking about externals, people who are supporters, members, past players, past and present board members. There is too much division to get up a new board that could have a consensus and be untouched by past issues. This is why we need a person from outside the club to come in, as sad as it is I don't think we can do it ourselves.

Was waiting for this. ...but don't you think he might have a few credits in the bank. Some pressure will come if they don't make the 8 this year though.
-
You are spot on...of course the players are trying, they are not intentionally going out to lose games of football, make themselves look stupid and unemployable in the future. It's the environment that is toxic and this makes it hard for them to perform at their best despite good intentions.

Not so sure about your impartiality, your opinion might be a better thing to say. My opinion and others is we need change. Your opinion and others is we need to keep the status quo. Nothing impartial from either camp I would have thought.

Similar to what happened at GWS last year and Sydney before, I don't think we as a club are able to sort out the mess we are in. We are divided by factions who seem to be more interested in preserving their own ego's than the club. An administrator would run the club, take the factions out of play and provide the best environment for success. There is a difference although I'm sure you won't agree. The administrator is appointed by the AFL but employed by the club to look after the interests of the club. Of course there will be talk of conflict of interest but I think it would be much better than the current situation that is built on self interest.

Because we have heard all this before, some of it only last week.
-
I don't want the AFL to run the club but I do want them to put in an administrator.

No, the thing I have a problem with is we only did half the job 18 months ago and we can't trust the people who got it wrong then to have it right now. This is not a side struggling to get a win, it's a side struggling to get a kick, lay a tackle, provide any type of contest and it's not an aberration, it's been like this for the last 18 months and doesn't look like changing.

Don is delusional.

Trouble is we don't get it.

The pies had nothing to gain that night but injuries, in hindsight they took it too easy and gave Geelong the psychological advantage heading into the finals.
-
Whilst they look promising none of these guys are proven AFL players yet.
-
He is not on his own with the form; his pre season was pretty good so I would give him some time to settle, too much heat is placed on Jack and what happened last night was a cheap shot by the FD to sub him.

A huge success, I'm so happy you are happy with the way the club is going. By the way Newbold is the President of the Hawthorn FC, Stuart Fox is the CEO (came up under Brian Cook at Geelong, not a bad mentor who with Greg Swan and Gary Pert do make the papers when there is an issue they need to address) No it's only an opinion, of course I think I'm right it's why I'm expressing it. Your opinion is not wrong, it's just an opinion. I just hope I get the chance to prove my opinion otherwise, in my opinion I think we are screwed. Cheers

That's true, with Sellar and Davey.

He deflected Carey's leadership question beautifully, and I love that he said Neeld was safe. But is he? Hey Cam he was talking about you, not just the players.
-
No just someone that can run a football club would be fine thanks 'Mono'.

Well ...that's my laugh for the day. Unfortunately Taggert played in the 2's at Casey and didn't make the best in that match, Magna is back on the rookie list and not available, Barry doesn't like the contest at this stage and Big Max, well he would be a chance but I hope they don't pick him just yet. If Big Max is picked this week then the footy department should be accused of not looking after their players. He might have to take it into his own hands at training this week.

I think the ruck combination will be Gawn and Clark when both are fit. Sellar and Pederson can fight it out for a tall defenders role, neither give enough in the ruck or forward.

The FD appointments haven't worked to well to date and I wouldn't expect that one person would make the decision without proper input. The current method of inviting Gary to help has not provided proper and expert opinion, he is an entertainer who at the first sense of a problem backs away from his decisions. This is not the way to run a club. The current group will not appoint a senior coach because he will tell them what they don't want to hear. Sheedy, Eade, Williams are too difficult to handle. The business side... It's not a sustainable business model and it will be stretched to the max with the results this year, the long term health of the business is reliant on on field success or on selling the dream of on field success. The dream has become a nightmare.

It looks like it has.

It's ok to show strength but they are backing the wrong horse. Show strength and support the coach if they think he is the right man for the job, show strength and move him on asap if he is not. ...but don't show strength and back someone who has proven to be a failure in his overall role as CEO of the club.
