...or maybe just try Tuck, I think this is where the story really comes from and he started at Hawthorn before Jeans. Forgot Dipper played a few in the 2's as well. Russell Green started at St Kilda so maybe it was in another life. I understand the point that was being made but it really is a player by player situation and also depends a bit on the team. Some players just take a bit more time to develop, Hogan would probably have an impact now in AFL in a half decent team.

Thought that might be it. Cheers 'bing'

Agree with you, about to post the same.
-
I think the time to go into it is now if you know the story.
-
...but someone had to sign the Cheques.

They have a problem when the game is turning. Hardwick makes crucial mistakes and the senior players start playing for glory and forget about team or the modern day term structures. Will be interesting to see if Hardwick learns enough in time or the Tiges will come up wanting. At the moment he is not a good match day coach, he's too reactive too late and doesn't seem to read the game.

Yep, agree 'stuie' with what you say. The priority is on winning games of footy first and foremost, but yeah the logo is way too busy.
-
That's it, if he gets a consistent run then maybe he will lift his level but I wouldn't guarantee it. The evidence to date has not been good.
-
I would be pretty sure the AFL more than suggested Jackson and indeed made the approach to him but I don't think there would be any reason for him to report back to them, his brief would be to get the club back on track. I'm sure they have faith in him doing the job that they don't have in the previous CEO and current board.
-
There you go again, it was because of the way you wanted to define the lie in the precise terms of the question and not the bit the club omitted telling the AFL.
-
I've been saying this for a while now but I think with Jackson coming in he will be acting like an administrator anyway, the board have lost all credibility and power and will have to sign off on anything he wants done. I believe we are going to be under administration in all but name only but the way things are going now this may well be formalised.
-
I've spoken to a couple of people today, one who knew Peter Jackson in his Essendon days and another through football Victoria. They both tell me he is a good bloke, clear thinker and a real hard nut who once he makes a decision makes sure it happens. He will steamroll it through and doesn't let anyone get in his way. So 'WYL' he maybe just the man for the job of getting this club back on track. There will be a few damaged egos by the time he's through I'm guessing.

You truly are kidding yourself, there are very few that follow your line. All we want is a club that is well led and administered from the top down, and maybe then we can get a few wins on the board. Why do you think your mate Schwab was sacked? just because he comes down and shakes your hand for helping with the membership drive doesn't make him a good bloke. Some of the best con men I've ever met where so called good blokes. There will be a few more go before this is done. Again we come back to the appointment of an administrator to at least clear the air, the club is not capable of managing itself in the current climate. Get Jackson's role upgraded and get to work on fixing things.

Come off it 'Redleg', now you're using lawyers weasel words. We are in deep here and all because someone thought it smart to hide the fact that Dank had some input into the club which the club has now admitted to.
-
...and that's what Geelong and GC did on the next day and nothing has been heard of it since.
-
No, it didn't add up to me at the time of the announcement. It was not right and it didn't take a lot of thinking through to see it. The other clubs can please themselves but you figure how a company the size of EnergyWatch could afford to sponsor one club even as a secondary sponsor let alone the figures they were talking for us as major sponsor and then add on top of that the other sponsorships. It never did add up in the first place.
-
Mate the club have admitted it themselves, WAKE UP!!!!!
-
'Redleg' whilst I appreciate we are not in the same position as Essendon, our club has been very liberal with the truth. In Feb they knew there was at best an association with Dank which they admit to in the statement last night, they should have said so at the time, this statement is 3 months too late. To the letter of the law he was not employed by the club but the lie is in the omission of the detail that he was associated with the club and at best as an advisor to the club doctor, at worst case who knows.
-
Greg has been very negative about the how the club has been managed and he really p...me off at times but he is right, the club is a basket case. It is an absolute shambles.
-
The main business of the club is football, everything else is a means to supporting the winning of football games leading to the ultimate win, a premiership. The board have put people in place who were incompetent, was going to say more on this but 'Gonzo' has spelt it out pretty well in his post above. The only other thing I will add on EnergyWatch is I believed at the time and still do that the club and CEO in particular needed a good news story after the happenings around the Geelong game and resultant fallout. They were more interested in parading their big new sponsor on the footy show than on doing any due diligence. A lot on here knew that it didn't add up at the time, nothing to do with the racist stuff but there was no way known EnergyWatch could sustain their level of sponsorships, our club and CEO turned a blind eye for a short term PR advantage.
-
...and there lies the problem. The CEO should never been appointed in the first place but to then extend his contract, well that was just pure incompetence.
-
Would you trust anything they had to say????
-
Could not agree more 'Ben'. I think one of the main players is already gone, but more need to come forward or be pushed. The sooner Jackson starts at the club the better, May 1 cannot come to quickly.
-
No, we will not be a scapegoat but we have placed ourselves front and centre now. Our own fault, no one else's, not the media, not the AFL, but the elected officials of the club along with the previous CEO and administration.
