  1. Only one was dropped, Rodan.
  2. ...but they have a lot more of the ball.
  3. Had a connection with Dank???
  4. I think the Bulldogs will be extremely happy with Stringer and Mcrae as we will be with Hogan and Toumpas.
  5. Because his job is not to sit there and take 6 months to do a review and a nice report. He is a person that is a doer, he gets things done. It doesn't mean he will come out swinging day 1, he hasn't (as far as we know) but if he is to get things done he won't be leaving it until the last day to file his report. Things will change over the period of 6 months.
  6. I don't think he is there to just do a review and make some recommendations. He will be pushing changes and they will be happening way before September. This guy is not a benevolent CEO, he is a guy you appoint when things need to be done. Whether that means the coach goes who knows, maybe Jackson will think he is the man for the job.
  7. Yeah it is and it will be interesting to see how things move from here on in.
  8. I don't think you can take much out of Casey's form. They did finish on the top of the ladder last year. What we can take though is the development of players such as Hogan, Kent and Taggert. These guys are the future of the club and hopefully they get a run in the senior team soon (Hogan next year of course). It gives us something to watch. Fitzy is a mystery man, if they give him a run I hope it is for a few games not just up and back again. Let's see what he can do, he could do no worse than Pederson at the moment. I also hope the club lets our players play in finals at Casey this year if they make it. Let them start to build a winning culture together and it will carry through in future seasons. Our best performance this year in my opinion was the game in Renmark and the team comprised a lot of these guys. We were hard at the ball, tackled better than I had seen a MFC side in memory and worked for each other.
  9. One question I have is, 'how come Port have the fitness to fight back and win games with only one pre season under their new fitness coach'? ...and of course the follow up is 'how come we need 3 years'? This is not a judgement call, I'm interested in opinions on this. Misson has a good reputation so what is the difference here, Port seem to have a young list too so this can't be the reason, surely their fitness base couldn't have been that much more advanced than ours, Bailey came out of the Port system. What gives?
  10. They have given the 'James Kelly' type quotes in the past and I don't put much store in what a player says about an assistant because the senior job is a totally different position and carries full responsibility. The weight of that responsibility changes people, some are up for the challenge some aren't, some are just good assistants who have been pushed above their station. The only thing we can go on are the results, the scoreboard is the ultimate judge. Voss' job has been on the line for a while now, no one has seen him as a genius coach but he is a favourite son and it buys him some time. The results don't show well for Neeld, I'm not looking for his head yet but I am concerned and have been since early last season. You don't lose games by the margins we have over the last few seasons and get through unscathed. The next 6 months are crucial to the future of the club, decisions will be made and hopefully they are the right ones. At least they will be out of the hands of people responsible for our recent failures.
  11. Well put, particularly like the last sentence.
  12. In part I agree with you on this. It is easy to talk things up when you are winning (I wish we had this problem) but we will really get to know Hinkley when things are not going quite as well or take a bad turn. We will get a better read on Sanderson this year for this reason.
  13. So who the f...is Ronan O'Connel and why should we read his gibberish?
  14. True and the only rolling maul I remember was led by Gary Ayres out of the middle, they ran right over the top of our guys who gave little to no resistance (boys against men). Maybe the post was in jest, I hope it was because they totally flogged us, it was record margin at the time for a GF which thankfully Geelong broke with there win over the Power.
  15. Good player but has really struggled with a tag, 29 going on 30. If we were going after someone it would be Thomas for me, slow start to the season recovering from injury but he is a real gut runner with 'x' factor when fit and firing and we need that type of player. LeCras is another but as we are now I wouldn't like our chances.
  16. Maybe we are, my bet is with you 'Rhino' that we're not; Carlton, Essendon and Freo certainly were way before anything was known and while the incumbent was busy doing the job he was paid for. The best thing that's happened this year so far is the change of CEO, other things will start to move from here on. We had been re building on a failed rebuild that was dubious from the start, now we might get some clean air and start moving forward. There will be changes over the next couple of months, whether or not it's the coach who really knows...but 'Satyriconhome' I wouldn't be getting too close to some around HQ, like your other mate a few of them are on the way out.
  17. Tynan played a good game in the development squad last week at Casey, would be a big jump for him to come up 2 levels and play AFL.
  18. Me to, it just seems too obvious. Maybe there is something I'm not getting here.
  19. Tell me if I'm wrong here but I thought the substance was not specifically banned but because it was not approved for human use it came under a catch all clause. Now it is the case that the injected form falls under the catch all. The cream is approved for human use so it would not be caught up under this clause. ????
  20. I think (and who really knows at the moment but this is how I read it) the stuff Essendon have been alleged to have used (injected variety) was banned under a catch all that covers drugs not yet approved for human use. It hasn't or at least wasn't itemised and banned but is under the catch all. The stuff Trengove has been alleged to have used, even though it is the same ingredient but in the cream form is sold over the counter as you say so it has been approved for human use as a cream or it wouldn't be on sale. So accordingly he hasn't used a banned drug. Injection bad, cream ok.
  21. ...and you point is that luckily we didn't appoint Ian Robson, Essendon CEO since 2009 to run our club.
  22. Could well be, who will replace him? someone from the list people have named on this forum to replace Neeld?
  23. I'm not sure whether we'll hear about it but I'm certain he will be and a few inside the club are going to know about it.
  24. Last time I listened to those guys they were at the other end of the dial 1278 I think it was. What happened to them???
