If that's the case 'PJ' then they weren't paying much attention. Viney was always a walk up start, it's only injury that's held him back from being even better.
-
...by the way, I thought North were really good tonight. The tackling pressure is something we could learn from, Zeibel!!!
-
A few home town decisions, the last one was technically there I guess but they had let them go all night. This is the time the coach needs to be able to call a sub to the press conference or time out as Craig Bellamy called for recently in the NRL, Scott has a right to go off but if he does....

Is communication mark neeld's biggest weakness?
rjay replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
...funny, must be a Collingwood thing. Buckley said the same after their last game. -
Yep, he is a great Hawk... but this is the calibre of person we need at the club and not being an ex MFC person would be a bonus.
-
He studying his MBA so I guess that was enough for him to get an assistant mangers role which he effectively was. We need a real football savvy person in this role and someone with experience.
-
I made the suggestion of Peter Schwab earlier, anyone know what he is doing now? He was running AFL Victoria a few years back.
-
Played there with Casey a few weeks or so back, played well enough to get back up as a forward. Go figure.
-
No bows just questions 'RR' Dermott said he was talking to him last night at FOX and asked him about one on one meetings with Neeld, said they never had one.
-
Like I said, it was more a question. I would like to know more about it, was definitely talked about and now the conventional wisdom is it was all Neeld's doing. Was there any truth behind Moloney wanting to leave at the end of 2011? (remembered the ? mark this time). Nowhere that I noticed I said anything about fact.
-
No, needs experience has none. Dermott gave a dark horse in Peter Schwab as coach but I think he has all the experience and skills to head the football department. Administrator, coach, media commentator and premiership player. Coming up on open mike this week, when I saw this I thought he would be the type of person we could do with.
-
He's about the same size, interesting idea.
-
I don't know what 'Redleg's recruiting experience is but it wouldn't be to hard to top what has been well recognised (and proven by results) as pretty poor form over the last few years by the professionals.
-
..but he did have a guy called Graeme McMahon as president and just a little experience around the club which is what he was talking about. The post was pointing out to 'Sat' that things will change, Jackson has flagged that when he was "thinking out loud".
-
...that was a good thing to see. I hope that is correct just as I hope the Pederson one isn't.
-
It's more a question 'RR', the word was that he was headed for Essendon at the end of the 2011 season. I don't know for certain that it is true and maybe someone here might know the details but if it wass the case it would seem he was disenfranchised from the time Bailey left the club and Neeld is a convenient excuse. There are a lot of things you can hang Neeld for but this may not be one of them, well not completely anyway. The players seemed to really lose their way during the 2011 season and have not been on track since. Neeld came in with a message that was in line with the chiefs but the Indians didn't buy it. Maybe, maybe not all I know is something went wrong and it wasn't just Moloney.

Yes we will see 'Sat' or is it Pollyanna, no need to interpret just listen to the language. The man could not be any clearer, we need experienced people at the club and the FD structure needs to be changed so that one person (the head of the FD) reports to the CEO. The CEO is not the manager of the FD although in effect that is what has been happening under the existing structure. No need to interpret, no foreign language here. Although I do understand your inability to comprehend a straight comment after all the spin we've been fed for a while now.
-
3 years for a 25yo that struggled to get a regular game at his old club is overs in anyone but your language. I'm thinking it is probably a mistake and 2 years was the deal which you would think reasonable, although his performances don't justify even that at this stage. No one is expecting him to get the stats you are talking but we should expect him to be doing better than he is. At the moment he is not even a good depth player. You front load dollars, not years and surely he is not on any kind of big $'s please...
-
He did say that 'Sat', that's what thinking out loud is. It's called speaking. You can keep burying your head in the sand and refusing to see, but guess what? Schwab is gone and changes are being made to way he did business and not before time. There are to be changes in the FD, I think that is for the better cause it aint working now.
-
He was wanting to go before Neeld got to the club, it's a convenient excuse now.
-
Jimmy would have played against Morris in SA so there will be nothing new here for him.
-
He did say that the FD would be restructured though 'Sat', so you can expect some new faces, an experienced head of the department and a change in the way they do their business. Thankfully not everyone is "Pollyanna" and can see that there are real problems.... not just that we have a poor midfield. but thanks for the link ....I'm happy to see that Frawley is still under contract for another year, he is an important part of our future.

Half Time address from Peter Jackson Yesterday
rjay replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pretty well on the mark 'Colin', Jackson also agrees and said he will need help. That's why he is looking for the best person to take the role as head of the FD. This will be a crucial role going forward and as he realigns the FD he will bring more experience into the club. A team effort with everyone doing their jobs well and things will turn around. -

The only way that any current board members stay is if they are there to to advise on their areas of expertise and keep away from things they know nothing about. Even then I think their judgement has been so poor in the past it is hardly an endorsement for any of them going forward. If we look back at the coaching panel that selected Neeld you would wonder what McLardy and Jalland brought to the table, they should not have been involved at selection stage. Schwab as CEO you may make a case for but given his previous record with the FD then it would have been better if he wasn't involved. That left Lyon as the only football person and he was an ex player with no experience as a coach except for maybe some Mickey Mouse stuff, any wonder we are in the mess we are in. -
Funny, I thought most replies here were something along the lines of Barrett being a .......[censored], dweeb etc.. No need to run in support here 'Sat' most are not buying in to Barrett. That being said I'm sure that Craig is under scrutiny, there is no story in that. The position he holds demands it.
