Problem is with injury. We don't get him on the ground.
-
If Salem is handled the correct way, and I'm sure he will be. When he comes up he will be ready and I'd be very surprised to see him back at Casey after that with the exception of coming back from injury. They won't bring him up for a taste and if he needs a breather he will get a week off.
-
He is. At the moment he doesn't have the strength or know how to get the inside hard ball, he gets knocked off it too easily. Getting your head knocked off twice backing into a marking contest doesn't make you an inside player, it just gets your head knocked off.

I think from the club point of view JKH did a pretty full pre season and had a good game against the Tiges. Salem was battling health problems and had a modified pre, it's more than learning the ropes. I really want to see him at AFL level but I think the FD are handling things better than in the past, we will see him I'm sure. When??? Maybe it's this week, maybe we will have to wait a bit longer.

Yep, must admit I'm totally sick of this dropping the ball and throwing it. If they want to stop the scrums enforce correct disposal for a start. If you have no prior opportunity then hold on to the ball and it is a ball up, forget the ridiculous acting. If you lose the ball (don't dispose of it correctly) then it's a free against, if the ball is stripped (which is what coaches will instruct players to do if this is the rule) then a free against the player stripping the ball. Simple.

Reminds me of Stanis in Game of Thrones. He's been a great get for us.

I think the future might be who we can trade in.

Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture

Poorly written by me 'Machsy' but we move on. -
Pretty good analysis 'Axis'.
-
My 3 word Brownlow analysis. "Garry's got 3"...votes today and medals (has this year in the bag)

Agree, and when we do make them legal. Some of Jordie's efforts to day were real amateur hour stuff, why he continued to go high I will never know.
-
Not dribble and not defending him, I think it is a major problem in his game and if it can't be changed then what we see is what we've got.
-
Matt Crouch was always going to succeed with his mongrel attitude and will. He was a steal at pick 20+. JKH has a lot going for him, it will be good to see him push up the ground where I think he will be a bigger success than as a small forward, he has a lot of game sense.
-
I think he plays within himself 'Axis', if anyone can get him out of this habit Roos will. He's a work in progress, hope he succeeds because we could sure do with his nous with the ball.
-
Impey, Crouch & Taylor have all been pretty good.
-
You're right 'stuie', and the goal he got was a junk time goal with no pressure on. He must make more of an impact as a sub and not just run around in circles. This is not a knock on him but constructive criticism, he needs more composure and to think his game through.
-
Roos is too smart for that. That's what Neeld did, it doesn't work. The message and focus in the media would have been about Watts being subbed out. Roos will make his point I'm sure but won't put Jack out there to be ridiculed in the media. Posted something similar earlier and a few of the marking contests were against Prestia, 21cm shorter???
-
That's great to hear mate, it's also what I was hoping he would do.
-
It probably was, I'm a big Tyson fan and was disappointed to see him subbed off today. I do understand the reasoning, he has been remarkable after coming off a couple of injury plagued seasons and for a kid who hasn't yet played 20 games. When Jones does a tagging job the opposition now tag Tyson, they are putting serious time into him. Interesting that Roos didn't start him on the ground today either.
-
It's what you want to see of a kid coming in with good wraps. He needs to get these 30+ possession games at VFL level and knock the doors down.
-
Just think we really will need him. At the moment Tommy Mc is our key defender if Frawley is to play forward. He needs help... Having said that it maybe more a wish than a reality.
-
I thought they controlled the game most of the day.
-
That appears to be right but I wonder if he plays within himself too much. He is touted as having real pace but we've rarely seen it, at one time today he chased an opponent, not sure who or when but there was a real burst of pace from him, he was lightning... but the rest of the game next to nothing. I don't think he gets the idea of going the extra mile. I hope he learns though.

Be interesting to know what they rate as a tackle, must only be effective tackles. Jack sure had a good ride on Gary but he got the ball away to a teammate non the less.

We didn't really 'Robbie' and the scoreline flattered us but at least we kept at it and didn't get blown away.
