The first game against St Kilda set the tone for the year, we had a little insight to how things would pan out with the preseason game against the Hawks. It was a fail but maybe the fail we had to have, at least Roos and Jackson now know where the list is really at and the full extent of the job at hand.
Now there's the problem, it didn't. GWS and GC had a monopoly over the talent pool and we only got scraps.
Agree though that it's a position of our own making. We should have been well on our way by the time the new clubs effected our list.
I think he's proven this year that he isn't a forwards a....
They want him as a defender so they have the option of Taylor forward and as coverage for Lonegan and Rivers who are coming to the end.
Won't change when the boss has a salary based on revenue in some part. In a game that is supposed to be not for profit the salary structure should not have a revenue component. For the good of the game they need to be smarter than that.
I agree with this and have said it before, also that we were ahead of the Tiges but the fact is we are in a much worse position than both of these clubs at the moment.
They rebuilt there lists, we didn't.
Last time I looked they were playing finals. At the start of the year many were talking them up as a top 4 finisher.
We are in a lot worse position than North and have been for a while now.
I agree that they didn't think it through, I don't think they were held over a barrel. That's a convenient excuse.
The reasoning for FA was supposedly to give players not getting a game the opportunity to move clubs. Surely they could see what was really going to happen.
This system need to be revised and your top 4 clubs idea has some merit although I think the entire system needs an overhaul and quickly. I fear a lot of damage has already been done.
Funny, I heard a Norf supporter on the radio saying we had to be the worst supporters in the AFL because we don't go to games. If they had the last 8 years in the comp we have they would not survive.
...and they can stick that Docklands ground right up their a.......I'm wouldn't send my worst enemy to that s...heap of a ground. Bring back VFL Park.
No, come on guys we need to build a team. He had a couple of good years but he's done now, no physical presence and in no way can he do what Frawley does.
Do you think the smartest brains in football at Geelong and Hawthorn would be paying the big bucks for Frawely when they could get Gwilt for nix.
I'm more concerned with when a player handballs on their right side going the wrong way, where they graze their hand on the ball if they're lucky or the ones over the head where again they graze the ball with their hand.
Mentioned on another thread but the one against Brock the other night laying a bump to shepherd was a joke. Seems the bump must have been to hard, it was in play and low, a perfect shepherd.
