That's a good discussion point. Vince has been good for us and a real step up from Silvia but would we have been better off going to the draft and picking up a really good kid like Taylor. It's a discussion we need to be considerate of this year, we have missed some good picks in the teens early 20's over the last few years and at the moment we are in the red on these.

Don't know where you get the idea that McCartin is a Pedersen clone, he's nothing like him.

The same reason that Brisbane are getting him off their books. They are looking to develop a team, we need to do the same.

15 games is enough..he hasn't missed more than half the season or played only 10 games and that is why he is in. I wouldn't count him out of the Brownlow yet either. The only player to have as consistent a year is Fyfe and he missed 4 games and is ineligible. Should he be AA playing only 18 games?

Because he is the best player in the game and those 15 games are probably better than most players 22 games. He is still a big chance to take the Brownlow, it would be embarrassing for the medalist not to be AA.

For what it's worth I think Jones is a very much admired player in the football world, I know some of my mates rate him as their favourite player outside their own teams. Should he be top 40 this year, well it's a tough field to make it as a mid. I think the Ellis selection is interesting. As usual the footy experts forget quickly but early in the season he was one that they were canning for not coming on this year, one of the big reasons for the Tiger failure. He was being tagged out of games but has been off the leash in the 2nd half of the season. I have alway rated Ellis but I think he has been pushed up on the Tigers bandwagon at the moment. I'm interested to see what Hinkley does with him this week, I know Roos ran a hard tag (Cross) against him and cut his effectiveness completely. He is a key to the Tiges though. Rambling a bit but at the end of the day this doesn't really matter and as someone else posted just shows how poor our list is. I don't expect the drop kick Evans or his mate wimpy Gil along with their intrepid leader of integrity Mr compromised Fitzpatrick to do anything though.

That's why the trade proposition is probably not going to happen. The Dogs are in desperate need of a key forward, we have the keys to either Wright or maybe McCartin. We are not going to give that up for Hrovat, if they want, they have to trade and it would have to be Griffen, Stringer or McRae plus a pick...and they haven't got the balls to make that happen. They have nothing else of interest really, maybe Libba... Same with GWS as 'Pennant' has just said above, they will need to give up something really good if they are desperate for Petracca. The Saints have first shot at it but for us we would want one of their guns plus their first pick. How desperate are they? probably not that desperate but who knows. Collingwood? do they have what we want...maybe Beams or Sidebottom but I would want more. If they can manufacture something like a pick inside the top 8 as well. I think revenue sharing is probably the way it is heading but it should be here now. There is to much procrastination from HQ and this will continue whilst Gil want's to be seen as a man of the people instead of the leader who is charged with making decisions for the betterment of the competition. With lap dog Evans along for the ride I don't see a fair system of revenue sharing being adopted for a while now. The AFL commission was put in place to make decisions for the betterment of the game, Evans screws up on the jumpers then asks Eddie if its ok for Port to use their traditional jumper. What a joke.

Yes, but unfortunately it is then seen as begging or even worse taking money we are not entitled to. ...and on top of this when you are trying to draw players to the club the attraction of playing to big crowds is a positive that can't be underestimated.

That's true but the problem is now it is so much harder to get off the bottom than before. We stuffed up badly and it's why the previous club management have so much to answer for.

I'm sure that's the way it's supposed to work but as you say Frawley being a Rhodes scholar then anything is possible. If a deal has already been done as many think then I would believe it highly unlikely that the club hasn't talked to the player.
