North & Carlton changed next game... Our coach seems wedded to his current game plan and is too pig headed to change. Changing roles hasn't helped that yet, I suspect it will next year.

We were smashed in the midfield today... I got smashed earlier in the year for suggesting some of our mids may have been drinking their own bathwater... ...forget maybe, they definitely are. They are playing a brand of smart a.... one way, cute, luxury footy. What was it after about 20mins in the 3rd Q? Melbourne 1 tackle for the Q.... Without May today that would have been a 10/15 goal loss.

I would probably add Lockhart...a really good kick and decision maker. Only a first year player but probably the only one we have who hits up the right targets forward of centre...

Not having a go at you on that mate...a few people seem to be using the Jesse tweet as an indication there are no problems with Goody & Macca & it was a beat up by Morris. There may well be no problem... ...but the tweet doesn't say anything about Morris spreading mistruths, only that he was speaking out of school.

Yep, a bit of a dog act to leak private conversations...looks like a total tool on the tele etc. etc... ...but Jess didn't say he was lying. So don't mix the content of the message from Morris with the way he may have betrayed confidences. Looks like there could well be some issues.

Those stats are looking more promising 'Return'.... 15 touches a couple of goals & 4 tackles is a good return for a small forward. Lets hope he can build on this.

Was talking with an American musician friend last Friday, he's out for a couple of weeks and the subject got onto gambling in sport. He's convinced now that major sport in the U.S is influenced (rigged) because of the amount of money on the line. We all know the boxing has been for eons but now it's becoming harder to argue in other sports. He says some decisions just don't stand up. Tonight proves he has a point...

Yep, the silly thing is Viney gets caught a lot trying it. I thought last week he (Viney) started using his footy brain a lot better. Picked the right times to barrel or give off. Trac at full pace is hard to nail in a tackle. I think he's starting to get the balance right...when to give off or take the shot, when to barge through or go around...all those things. He's played well the last few weeks and will get better. One area for me is I would like to see him using his bulk and vertical leap to take a few more contested grabs. That's when he's going to get really dangerous...

Jade has been great for us but at some stage he will move on for the betterment of his career. It might be time for McCartney and there has been talk of Jennings moving on. Be all that as it may... We need quality assistants with experience for a balanced coaching department. Richo is a quality assistant. Just ask the people at Port. Forget the contract, he's in the gun and will be lucky to see the year out. People often talk of getting the latest star out of the game, forget that...get proven experience. It's worth it's weight in gold...

It seems that the Saints have Richo in the gun this year and it will be a miracle for him to keep his job. As we're likely to rejig our FD next year I would hope we are in contact with his management. Richo is a great football man and a highly regarded assistant. Would be a great addition to our club.

Some time you have to just take a good look at the talent on offer 'Watts'... The Eagles saw something in Kennedy despite him only being a skinny kid with a grand total of 11 goals over 2 seasons. You don't seem to see it and that's ok... None of those other 3 by the way have the attributes that Sam has. ...and a bit precious if you think the FD are just asking him to jump & bring the ball to ground. That would be bare minimum.

If we're going to make comparisons I think Josh Kennedy is a good one. To me Weid most resembles him, hits the ball hard, handy on the ground and a nice long kick. ...and as a current day player(rather than going back to a time when forwards kicked big bags of goals weekly) if we look at his goal kicking stats... Josh Year 1 - 5 goals Sam 3 Josh Year 2 - 6 goals Sam 3 Josh Year 3 - 7 goals Sam 10 Josh Year 4 - 31 goals Sam currently 9 Josh Year 5 - 41 goals Sam yet to play It took him time...I think Weid has got the talent and I would expect a similar long term result to Kennedy at WC if he gets a clear run at it and that's good enough for me.

Played footy with Ian back before his TV days. Pretty sure he went to 9 on a short term contract in accounts and ended up running the place. Good bloke, ran into him from time to time over the years and never lost his down to earth nature. Congratulating him when 7 got the TV rights back from 9 at a huge cost his comment was now we have to work out how to f..... pay for it. RIP Jonno...

Dumb and all as it was... It was better than the first game against Port where we stood by and watched Max cop it from them without a whimper. At least we had some passion in the game and Jones was supporting a teammate. If I had my choice I would take this.

Just as well it wasn't up to me 'jumbo'... I couldn't be happier to see Tommy turn his game around today. In his own words made mistakes early but then things started working for him... In my words he got to a lot more balls, was running more and working harder and it finally paid off. Well done Tommy...well done Goody for putting the acid on him.

I'm sure he's had the acid put on him before this behind closed doors but it begs the question.... Why is Tom not at Casey? Hinkley's sent Westoff back to the 2's and he's got a lot more credits than Tom. Pyke had Jenkins in the SANFL for 5 weeks. Is Goody too much of a players man? does he need to harden up? does Tom deserve his spot?

That's not really his strength. He's far from being a people person...
