MY point being is that we need to get rid of our fringe player and bring in others that will perform better. Our current fringe players would not get a game in any other club Spencer = Spud Bate - is he a midfielder or mid sized forward. He is definately SLOW Petterd - slow doesnt kick goals at Casey and cant get a game in the AFL McKenzie - slow and not an attacking midfielder. Poor skills Joel Mc - poor skills and brain fades Fitzpatrick - poor skillsw. Good athlete but is he a good footballer Dunn - midfielder, tagger or KP Bennell - doesnt know how to get the pill Im sick of a midfield that has over sized slow players with bad skills. Bate and Dunn are ovewrsized players who were recruited as KPP. Now we train them to be midfielders. They are not Goodes (obviously) Im sick of our KPP being undersized 192cm players playing against gorillas. Rivers, Garland. Frawley in only 193cm. Get rid of the fringe players and recruit better fringe player. Use low picks to trade, or off load the dead wood ive named. We need to over haul our list to get a better balance.

I had a quick look a other clubs' experienced fringe players thinking who could we pick up cheap. As I am numb with football (too many years of pain) and have not kept up with teams other than our own, I may have missed a few and I may have named a few players who are playing week in week out. Our Team has massive inbalance issues and our fringe players would be rookies on other lists at best. Here is the list I came up with. Who could be of some value whilst the club looks for more balance with age, experience and youth. Bernie Vince Jordan Russell Brock McLean Scott Gumbleton Brent Prismall Kyle Riemers Robert Warnock - over load of rucks a the scum Kepler Bradley Mitch Brown - can't get a game Xavier Ellis Stephen Salopek Daniel Connors - can we reform him? Brett Peake Beau Wilkes Mark Seaby My choices would be Xavier Ellis, Daniel Connors, Mitch Brown, Kyle Reimers, Scott Gumbleton and Bernie Vince. Only if they came cheap with low draft picks or exchange for our own fringe players. Who would you take? Feel free to add to the list.

A few observations. Our midfield struggled today. We won the battle but we did so against babies. We only bullied them. I didnt see domination skill wise. Yes the 2nd and #rd 1/4's we dominated, but I didnt see any individual dominance. Blease is dynamic and offers a point of difference. Speed and skill Sellar looks comfortable down back. he is a competant negator rather than a forward playmaker. Given time, he disposes well and creates good attacking play down back If McDonald had Watts's skills he would kill oppositions with his run and negating skills. He grew in confidence and with his defensive skills he could be a player showing a good press up field today. Given his athletic abilities, hieght, pace and endurance he could play on all KPF types. He will have his off days though due to inexperience Watts looks hungrier down back. Time to move forward and show the same intent. A couple of contested marks today showed he can be a forward. But, what i really liked from Jack was talking to the back 6 after GWS kicked the first 3 goals of the game. He was very vocal, steddying the defensive group well. He showed good intent and leadership Neeld realises that we have too many backman and has the balls to shake things up. Playing Rivers and Garland up forward he realises that balance is important. Both Rivers and Garland are under sized backman (or oversized pending who they match up on down back) and propose difficulties up forward. They have defensive skills, can mark and play the ball on the ground. Good brave move by Neeld. Im surprised how Rivers plays up forward. He creates an option but can take himself out of play (with his opponent) when needed. I thought the Russian to struggle with his tap outs. He improved when the game was going our way, but when the game was in the balance his tap out work was average. Clark has Nieta type characteristics. Strong and hard at the ball. In the air and ground. He demands the balls and will create a contest when he does not mark the ball (his marking was excellent tho) I believe him to have huge upside and will be better than Nieta. Taller, more mobile and better all round than Nieta. Nieta is a home grown Demon, games holder, captain ect and will live longer in Demons eyes tho Scully is average! Too easily tagged. He is skinnier than his team mates drafted last year. He maybe elite in fitness and attitude, but he will need this to succeed. Im glad he has gone. i say this without any anger too. He left our club for money and why not. The MFC is not a Collingwood or Geelong. Ablett left for money so did Scully. Good luck to him. The MFC does not provide legend status, therefore a carer after football as the bigger clubs do. Nuff said MFC members are [censored] weak. The first real gimme win in a season that will not bring many wins with a real hate/distaste for Scully and we get 20,000 to the game. At least we made some noise. The MCC stand was deplorable. Too polite in their reaction to Scully. The AFL are a joke, A guy wears a jacket with fake money on his jacket and its deemed as too offensive. Time for Vlad to go into politics and and be the Liberal parties right hand/SIDE man. Convervative on a big scale. I like freedom of expression done in a way that promotes the right for individuals to express themself without the use of force or aggression. The jacket would not have made news if Vlad had not had a control of expression on supporters today. Maybe he was protecting his baby (GWS) It was a good win, but so it should have been.

I like Sellar down back. He has the size and height to play on the KPF. He may not have the talent of a Frawley, Rivers or Garland, but he matches up better to negate the Gorilla's. With McDonald and Frawley as his patners in crime, he looks good. IMO he has better foot skills than Rivers too.

Exactly why I think Gys will be an A grader. A pure midfielder with massive footy IQ. Despite his short comings with natural fitness and body strength. He is almost a project midfielder. Given time he will dominate consistently. The cameos have been exciting so far

You would still know many days later. Most druggies are poly substance users (take any drug to get off). Players not sleeping for days, then sleeping for days to catch up. Even if say, a player has taken sleepers to counter act the Meth, their behaviour becomes very erratic. Your taking two drugs that make that behaviour erratic (aggressive). Contrary to what some may think, sleepers can make ppl very aggressive. Clubs are very well resourced and I would guess they would have tried the supportive route therefore knew of the culture well before it became public. Benny Cousins behaviour became erratic as has been publicized. He was one of the lucky ones who had the means to support a habit, but regardless he spiraled down hill eventually. The AFL knew with drug testing, I would guess so did WC. I have to say I'm assuming alot here. But I have worked in this area for too long
-
WYL, Counsellors, Drug and Alcohol workers and particulary Pharmacists would know the signs. You only have to look some ones pupils and you would know they are affected by drugs. Then add in the behaviours, and Meth Amphetamines (Cousins) is particulary easy to identify. The hard part is doing something to try and change it. RR is wrong! Worsfold can't be blamed for the culture as it seems drugs took over. I've seen it happen alot. They are very powerful substances.

Yep Grimshaw, I'm etching it from my mind, well trying!

The end to bruise free football

What I love about Gys is he is pure midfielder. Despite his lack of motor and physicality he knows where and how to play. Give him a few pre seasons and he will be a beauty. -
It took CEO's to harness the the filth brand. The Board have continuously agreed to bad investments in pubs, CEO too. They still struggle to get it completely right. The hawks have got it right and they have much less scope.

Sorry Maurie, It was not a personal attack on you, seriously. I get your point! But I think Neeld would (and has) practice adult education on those at the Dees and filth in the past, which is your point. Sam stuffed up and was rightly was disciplined as a result.

A great business man. not quite sure that is true anymore. GTV 9 are still trying to recover from his sackings, particulary the news dept. I'm still trying to recover from lkg at Tracy Curo's cleavage. Sorry but it's like Lkg at your grandma's cleavage. Mc Chins thought that GTV 9 needed to go down the King St style of ratings. A BIG flop as a corporate CEO and left without the publicity it deserved. Instead of being sacked he was given a few shows to produce. They are on the flop. Even the footy show is going down hill. I have to say McChins has the class of a filth supporter. His radio slot is dying/dead, his shows will go soon and he behaves like spoilt privileged child, but he had canned tomato soup as a treat growing. The filth are the easiest club to run. The Man Utd, Barcelona, etc! He did not create their success! It's built on a group of ppl who consider a win as good as a holiday to Dromana at Xmas. Their yearly holiday. Spoken like a true toffee.

Have to disagree WYL. He is important to our midfield. Who will replace him, especially with the bullocking and clearance work? Trengove will get better, McKenzie is good in close but is a different type and I don't see anyone else proven at AFL level.- 71 replies

Selective reading there Rhino. A few 'not the sharpest tool comments' and lack of intelligent comments have occurred. But you choose to delete my post as in reference to these comments and pass it as abuse when it was obviously personal. Still reeling from the discussion regarding our past president. Waiting for another delete- 71 replies

Moloney to Essendon half-baked rumour..?
Demonsterative replied to Arsene Wenger's topic in Melbourne Demons
The fact is if you lose your best players you dont win premierships. Beamer needs to stay and become our 4th or 5th best midfielder. Picks like Magner and Couch become our best clearance players and they are rookies. Not good for our midfield and development. I wonder what the Beamer knockers will say if he does leave. I imagine his perceived inconsistencies, lack of intelligence and bullying excellence will all of a sudden look good and invaluable. Particularly when GC kick our butts- 71 replies

Tynan played as a KPB in the TAC cup. He showed form and strength against bigger opponents. Strength at that level was not an issue

What's with the re writing history to suit an argument! It's not 'Revionist' as Marxism and Communism has nothing to do with the MFC and AFL!! Just a stupid word some like to use to try and make themselves look intelligent When was Clark ever going to come to the Dees in DB's time. It's been well document Neeld and co took advantage of a stalemate between the Dockers and Lions. And the recruitment on Sellar was an informed choice, as are all drafts and trades. Information provided by employees of a club. Just goes to show some information is just not right or worthy. Just like on this thread Always having to have the last word does not make one right, or being argumentative for the sake of serving ones self need to let out anger or stroke ones own ego

Locker room discussion I would think. As with the Frawley topic
