I’m in two minds about this WCW. I want to win like the rest of us. There is a ‘but’ though. I want to give JT and the club the best chance of getting the best talent into the club. Long term for our assault next year and beyond, it could in be the clubs favour to get a lower draft pick. The players (the young ones too) understand the difficulties of this year and a win not inflate or deflate the group going into pre-season for 2025. Btw, I’m not wanting us to tank or play below our best. I will be cheering hard for a win (I’m a competitive person and experience white line fever when the boys cross that white line), but If we don’t, I hope like hell pick 5 or 6 comes our way. If it does I won’t be disappointed

I’m talking about tanking Ollie, I would not be disappointed if the cards fell our way and we get pick 5.

I hate myself for thinking this, but long term are we better off losing and getting a higher draft pick? Suns and Saints could go past us on the ladder all going well.

No one know the details of these contract extensions. It may be that we are planning something in regards to Trade in a few months therefore we are freeing up some money next season by giving ‘club champions’ a contract at lessor (but more over the length of contract) to accomplish something else. If not, we are giving long term loyal leaders of this club, who will become club immortals exactly what they deserve.

I was hopeful and a little excited when Grundy came our way. I watched him closely in his first few games and what I saw was, he was an all glory but no substance footy player. Refused to run hard and throw his body in defensively, but if he had a chance to play attacking footy he would put in effort.
