All I will say is Imagine you were a share holder of a company and you found out that the CEO took a holiday while still being paid to cope with stress. Or as a taxpayer if the Prime Minister decided to take pay leave on top of there usual benefits due to personal problems.
-
I agree with this. I think some people would have been annoyed if Mitch Clarke went and took some personal leave. or if T$ had stayed and was being payed a crapload and took leave for personal reasons. I don't know if there is, but i hope the club has a policy for this type of thing so that the same rules apply to everyone regardless of ethnicity.

bluelegs: i know quite alot of members. anyway as far as i am concerned i have lost interest in this thread. I asked a few posts ago what you guys thought should occur hypothetically if this leave continued indefinitely (in regards to pay). A few people replied then it derailed again to people making personal attacks on other peoples posts rather then contributing to the conversation.

now thats offensive!

Im hoping Watts doesn't gun until the start of his next 5 year contract. As negative as it sounds if he guns next year as he is just about to come out of contract it could be costly.
-
I dont think his the number 1 midfielder, though I think he could be if he is consistent. He reminds me of Dustin Martin, though he should be several years ahead. But anyway, he does need to miss the game. I think we should do ok without him against the Lions anyhow.

This is the response this thread has needed. Something wholesome. Appreciated. Though Nasher, I ask you this. If it were your call, how long would you allow a player to take paid leave for? Hypothetically if this carried on for months. Like most work places do you think there should be a limited amount? (Note: i am not trying to upset people, just want to see peoples views on this)
-
Don't quote me incorrectly. I said "he has said what ALOT of members are thinking" At least get that part right. And Nasher, I think its a sensitive topic about how hard Jimmy worked to get the club out of debt for the team to not use there funds wisely. Yes I have concerns for LJ, who dosnt? at the same time i also have concerns for the clubs finances that Jimmy works so hard on.

im actually glad that Watts isnt gunning yet. Saw in the paper that Hurley is being offered a 2.2 million dollar deal. I think its a better thing his taking his time, so we dont need to pay him the big bucks until we have to and are ready to make a push for the premiership.

i also find it offensive people choose to personally attack me for posting my opinion

and yes, i am a fan of LJ, but like Mono, I think Stynes has worked way to hard for paid leave to be given to players to take indefinite leave. and yes i do hope he works out his problems and can get back to training soon.
-
Fair enough if he has a fair reason like Wona did. just seems to be a common occurance with the Melb FC and indigenous players, Sean Charles, Wona, LJ I dont think i can name any other team which has had to give players bereavement leave for cultural reasons. You guys are quick to jump down my throat for giving my 2c when half of you dont even know the actual reason for why he has returned home. Personally i think all players should be on the same playing field here. I remember Clint Bartram played the next day after his dad passed away.

I also keep threads going

Love the way everyones talking like there know it alls in regards to indigenous affairs when they probably don't even know the start to it and just follow the crowd.
-
i need to stick up for mono, he pretty much said what a lot of the members were thinking. Little boy johnnys savings for a membership could be going towards someone going home for a while. If i was little boy johnny, i would prefer my membership cash to be going towards the guys on field.

This rule would suit T$ Anything that suits him I am against

and this was one of my favourite players growing up. Nothin like a good role model

Soon it will just be like soccer with 3 subs and no bench
-
Well unlike the Australian Cricket Team, players can be traded. So lets just say that i think there will be some blazers out there that wont necessarily be nurtured as much as the ones the cricketers get.

I know its wiki but read this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaphoid_bone "The scaphoid can be slow to heal because of the limited circulation to the bone. It receives its blood supply primarily from lateral and distal branches of the radial artery"

Should give him a lower jumper number. I would suggest give him 31
-
Yeah, im not liking this idea at all. 4th quarters will turn more into a bunch of players running around with cement feet and no energy to take hangers, or kick long goals or chase down players. Excitement of game will diminish as the quarters go on.

So after this game who are the ones who havn't had any match time? Jurrah, Tapscott, Mckenzie, Taggart, Trengove Any others?
